Chapter 383: Coffee with a Twist

Upon reaching the eighteenth floor, Olivia didnโ€™t see Liliana anywhere. She noticed from a distance that the door to the chairmanโ€™s office was locked, and a peek through the window confirmed that the office was empty. Only a secretary, dressed in professional attire, was seated outside.

Olivia adjusted her hat and turned to the nearby break room, where she poured a cup of coffee, casually adding several spoonfuls of salt to it. With the โ€œspicedโ€ coffee in hand, she walked directly towards the chairmanโ€™s office.

Madelyn, busy checking Lilianaโ€™s schedule for errors, suddenly noticed a woman in a hat, carrying a cup of coffee, boldly heading toward the chairmanโ€™s office.

โ€œHey! What are you doing? You canโ€™t just walk in here!โ€ Madelyn called out loudly, her eyes quickly scanning Oliviaโ€™s badge and noting she was just an intern, which only soured her expression further.

โ€œThis is the chairmanโ€™s office, not a place for interns!โ€

Hearing the familiar voice, Olivia recognized Madelyn as the same person who had previously called her, attempting to coerce and entice her to sign with Starlit Entertainment.

โ€œAh, sorry, I didnโ€™t knowโ€ฆ Itโ€™s Ms. Amelia who asked me to bring this coffee to Ms. Liliana.โ€

Given the considerable resources Starlit Entertainment had recently allocated to Amelia, it was clear she was highly valued there. And Olivia knew too well how eagerly Amelia curried favor when there was a profit to be made.

Sure enough, the mention of Amelia sending the coffee removed any suspicion from Madelyn, who merely showed a trace of impatience.

โ€œWhether itโ€™s bringing breakfast or coffee, Ms. Carter really knows her duties.โ€

Madelyn couldnโ€™t understand why Liliana held Amelia in such high regard.

โ€œMs. Liliana isnโ€™t here; you can go back,โ€ Madelyn dismissed her impatiently, sitting back down.

โ€œAh? But Ms. Carter said this coffee was specially brought from abroad for Ms. Lilianaโ€ฆโ€

โ€œI told you Ms. Liliana isnโ€™t here. She usually arrives after ten. Amelia didnโ€™t tell you? Look, itโ€™s just past ten; how could she be here?โ€ Madelyn rolled her eyes, clearly annoyed by the internโ€™s lack of awareness.

Olivia, having learned when Liliana would arrive, let a sly smile flicker across her face. So sheโ€™s not here yet. Well then, sheโ€™d just have to go to the garage and greet Liliana herself.

Before leaving, Olivia nervously placed the coffee on Madelynโ€™s desk.

โ€œThenโ€ฆ Iโ€™ll just leave this coffee here; could you please give it to her when she arrives?โ€

Madelyn raised an eyebrow.

โ€œGot it, now go.โ€

As Olivia turned to leave and entered the elevator, she didnโ€™t forget to wave at Madelyn.

As the elevator doors closed, Madelyn glanced at the coffee on her desk. Lately, Amelia had been keen on flattering Liliana every day, usually with high-end coffee and dessertsโ€”brands Madelyn herself wouldnโ€™t even think of buying.

Looking at the steaming coffee on the desk, Madelyn felt a twinge of curiosity.

โ€œMs. Liliana isnโ€™t even here yet; by the time she arrives, this coffee will be coldโ€ฆ Can it even be drunk then?โ€ she muttered to herself before deciding to take a sip.

โ€œI want to see just how good this coffee Ms. Amelia sends to Ms. Liliana isโ€ฆโ€

She took a gulp, and the next secondโ€ฆ What in the world? Why is this coffee so salty?
