“But…the video clearly shows you entering Starlit Entertainment at the exact time of the incident,” the lawyer countered, recalling the substantial fee he had been paid.

“Where did the video come from?” Olivia asked.

The lawyer straightened his posture. “It was provided by my client, extracted from Starlit Entertainment’s surveillance footage. We also had it professionally analyzed. There are no signs of tampering.”

Olivia smirked and pulled out an ultra-thin laptop from her bag. After requesting the lawyer to send her the footage, Olivia began analyzing it in front of both him and the officer.

The once-confident lawyer watched as Olivia worked, his expression growing increasingly uneasy. When Olivia finished removing all the effects, she pushed the laptop toward the officer.

“Next time you need an analysis, feel free to contact me—half price.”

The officer examined the restored footage. Olivia’s alleged image was nowhere to be found. Instead, it was clear the person in the video was a completely different woman who only bore a passing resemblance to Olivia.

“What’s going on?” the officer asked, frowning at the lawyer.

“I… I don’t know,” the lawyer stammered. “How did the person in the video suddenly change?”

“This is the restored video. You can have it independently verified,” Olivia said, saving the corrected footage to a USB drive and handing it to the officer. The footage was promptly sent to the forensic department, and the results came back quickly.

“The analysis confirms that the video provided by Ms. Carter is the original, unaltered footage,” the officer stated, turning to the lawyer.

Cold sweat trickled down the lawyer’s back. “I… I had no idea…” Liliana’s secretary had assured him the footage was genuine. Now, the lawyer realized he’d been set up.

“If I’m not mistaken,” Olivia began, “the person impersonating me in this video is one of Starlit Entertainment’s artists, isn’t she?”

The lawyer’s panic intensified. “And this video wasn’t recorded on the day Ms. Liliana was injured—it was shot yesterday. Despite the meticulous editing, some details, like the original timestamp, were overlooked,” Olivia pointed out.

One revelation after another left the lawyer drenched in sweat. Olivia turned to the officer.

“Officer, since it’s been proven that the video is fake and there’s no evidence implicating me, I believe there’s no basis to accuse me of this crime?”

The officer nodded in agreement. Having been dragged away from her film set, Olivia wasn’t about to let this go.

“In that case, I’ll be filing a defamation lawsuit against Liliana,” she said with a bright smile.

The lawyer went quiet. Did the plaintiff and defendant just switch roles?

“Tell your boss to expect my lawyer’s notice soon,” Olivia said, waving dismissively as she strode out of the station. As she left, she hailed a cab to return to the film set. Sitting in the backseat, Olivia opened her laptop, a sly smile curling on her lips.
