Chapter 420: Taking Special Care in Annoying Georgina

Even someone as proud and confident as Georgina had to admit the beauty of the girl before her. Feeling a hint of crisis, Georgina wore her habitual smile and extended her hand to Olivia.

“Hello, may I ask how to address you, Miss?”

Olivia smiled back as she shook her hand.

“My name is Olivia.”

In just a moment, Georgina’s smile froze. Olivia? Was it a coincidence that this beautiful girl shared the same name as that country bumpkin?

Struggling to maintain her poise, Georgina withdrew her hand, her gaze inadvertently shifting towards Alexander. Her arrival had failed to catch Alexander’s attention; his focus remained on the girl also named “Olivia.” Georgina couldn’t guess Olivia’s identity. Though she was simply dressed, everyone attending the Moore family event was either rich or noble, so Olivia must be someone significant.

Daxton was about to chat with Olivia when the butler suddenly came over and whispered a few words in his ear.

“The people from the Kenneth family have arrived.”

Daxton’s eyes flickered slightly.

“Benjamin, push me to the front yard.”

Benjamin nodded, informed Olivia, and then pushed Daxton towards the front yard. Seeing that almost everyone had left, only Alexander continued to gaze at Olivia, and Georgina’s eyes narrowed slightly. People named Olivia really seemed to rub her the wrong way. Both Olivias were incredibly irritating to her.

“Mr. Carter, may I ask where you work?” Georgina tentatively inquired about Olivia’s identity.

Olivia replied, “Nowhere special, I’m just an actress.”

Georgina was momentarily taken aback.

“Mr. Carter is an artist? You must be joking, right? The Moore family’s birthday banquet didn’t invite any entertainers.”

Olivia shrugged.

“Someone has to play the piano to liven things up, right?”

Georgina was speechless. She would never have imagined Alexander being so captivated by a minor actress.

“Alex, I just arrived and am not very familiar with this place; how about you show me around?” Georgina suddenly disregarded Olivia. Seeing a rare opportunity to spend time with Alexander at an outside event, she didn’t want to miss the chance for them to be together.

Alexander frowned slightly. Beside him, Olivia, who had been pretending not to know Alexander, suddenly shifted her gaze. Taking special care in annoying Georgina was something Olivia did particularly well. Since Daxton had just left and the other guests had followed to curry favor, it was just the three of them nearby. Olivia suddenly felt less pressure.

Just as Alexander was about to speak, Olivia changed her demeanor and suddenly turned on her heel, her delicate hand plopping onto Alexander’s shoulder. Alexander was momentarily stunned. Georgina was flabbergasted. How dare this minor actress lay her paws on him?

“Mr. Carter, what is this?”

Olivia looked up with a pitiful face.

“Sorry, I twisted my ankle.”

Georgina took a deep breath to keep her composure in front of Alexander, resisting the urge to strangle this pretentious vixen. Olivia completely ignored Georgina’s teeth-gritting reaction, her hand on Alexander’s shoulder giving a light squeeze. Turning to Alexander, she silently mouthed, “Play along.”

Alexander raised his eyebrows slightly. What a quick change in attitude.

“Mr. Wilson, could you please help me get to the Moore family’s family doctor?” Knowing Georgina was watching, Olivia put on a pitiful, helpless look, batting her big eyes and pointing to a room on the second floor of the Moore family home.
