Chapter 424: Big Misunderstanding
Clearly, one was the banquet host, the other an invited guest. Yet Walden and Daxton somehow managed to create an electric atmosphere, staring daggers at each other. The two elderly men looked at each other but tacitly chose not to speak. Daxton had Benjamin push him back to the hall, while Walden followed with the Kenneth family members in tow. The other guests, full of curiosity and whispering gossip, each holding a glass of wine, attempted to follow into the hall, but the butler blocked everyone’s curious attempts, saying, “Sorry, Mr. Daxton has ordered that the guests please rest in the front or back yard.”
Inside the hall, Daxton was slightly disappointed not to see Olivia. But then again, there was no rush. Paul and Brody, who had come with Walden, were on pins and needles. They knew Olivia would be at the event tonight and had hoped to find an opportunity for her to meet their grandfather. However, when they arrived at the Moore residence earlier, they had specifically looked around but saw no sign of Olivia. Brody was anxious but didn't want to show it. Besides Paul and Brody, Liliana’s gaze also constantly roamed over the guests tonight. Not seeing Olivia’s face, Liliana temporarily breathed a sigh of relief.
“Really, I didn’t see this coming, inviting me to your birthday banquet,” Walden scoffed coldly, looking at Daxton in his wheelchair. “Or is it that you’re hosting this birthday banquet and unusually sending me an invitation because there’s something profitable for you?” Daxton did not expect the other to guess his intentions so quickly, his eyes slightly shifting. This subtle change did not escape Walden’s notice. Realizing that Daxton was hosting a trap tonight, Walden’s eyes gradually turned colder. "Good one, Daxton! Definitely up to no good!"
Walden scoffed coldly, “I’m here today not to celebrate your birthday but to warn you. Keep your grandson away from our Kenneth family, or else it will be parents burying their children, and you will be the one crying.” Walden’s words stunned Daxton’s only grandson, Benjamin. He didn’t even know the Kenneth family. Daxton did not expect Walden to get right to the point. A flicker of surprise passed through his eyes.

Although after seeing Olivia, Daxton had begun to suspect Olivia’s identity based on her face. He speculated that Olivia might be the granddaughter the Kenneth family had lost. But all this was just a guess by Daxton; he had no solid evidence. Today’s birthday banquet was also meant to confirm this matter. Daxton was stunned. How come Walden sounds like he already knows about Olivia? Why else would he warn Benjamin to stay away from Olivia?
“What are you saying? How has my grandson gotten close to your granddaughter?” Daxton tentatively spoke.
Walden replied, “Still pretending here? If your grandson had no interest in my granddaughter, with your petty nature, would you have invited me to your birthday banquet?” Daxton was stunned. What? When did Walden acknowledge Olivia as his descendant?
Benjamin went quiet. “That’s not the truth! I am not interested! Stop spreading rumors!” Liliana was stunned. Benjamin is interested in me? Only Brody, upon hearing this, quietly bowed his head.
