Chapter 447: Feeling Himself
The little kid stared at the camera with wide, pleading eyes, practically dripping with innocence. Wearing a one-piece bear pajama set, he tilted his head slightly, looking absurdly cute and painfully effective at getting his way. Olivia felt a headache creeping in. She loved money, but turning this little gremlin over to the militaryโฆ With what he had done, there was no way he was getting off with just a stern lecture.
She typed out a message, and on his screen, Little Wendigo pulled up a banner. โDid you create the Grim Reaper Knocking on Doors Virus?โ The second the kid saw a response from his so-called idol, he lit up. โYeah. I made it!โ Then, after a pause, he added enthusiastically, โI saw the Grim Reaper Knocking on Doors meme online, and I thought it was so catchy! The song was stuck in my head, so I figuredโwhy not share it with everyone?โ
His original goal? Just spreading a meme. He had planned to make a small program to help the video go viral, but before he knew it, things spiraled out of control, and he had accidentally coded a full-on virus. By the time he saw the chaos on the hacker forums, he just went along with it.
Olivia stared blankly at the screen. Who wouldโve guessed The Grim Reaper Knocking on Doors Virus, the cyberattack that crippled half of Cyperiaโฆ was created because some kid got obsessed with a meme? โAnnoying little bratโฆ but damn, heโs got talent.โ The little kid blinked and proudly puffed out his chest. โMaster, Iโm not some little brat anymore! Iโm already five!โ Olivia thought, oh, this kidโs really feeling himself. Who the heck agreed to be your master?
She let out a quiet sigh and had Little Wendigo start clearing out the virusโs source code from the kidโs system.
As his entire virus was wiped out, the kid didnโt seem even a little mad. Instead, he stared at Little Wendigo with pure fascination, analyzing its every move. โMaster! Did you really integrate AI into this super defense system?โ Olivia ignored him completely. But the kid just kept talking.
โMaster, this is insane. A system this complex must require a crazy amount of processing power, right? The bigger the data load, the more bugs youโd expect, but you even managed to integrate an AIโฆ You might actually be the most skilled hacker Iโve ever seen! If this kind of super defense system could be transferred into a mechanical framework, wouldnโt that mean we could theoretically build a fully functional AI robotโฆ?โ His eyes lit up, like he had just uncovered the key to a whole new world. Using everything he had read about Oliviaโs super system on the hacker forums, he started rapidly brainstorming even bigger possibilities. Olivia completely ignored the kidโs nonstop chatter.
Instead, she focused on wiping out every last trace of his virusโmaking sure there was nothing left behind that could lead anyone else to his computer. The next person who tracked him down? They probably wouldnโt be as merciful as she was.
In her past life, after the Grim Reaper Knocking on Doors Virus hit, the world had named him ToxiQ. But thenโhe vanished. No sightings. No digital footprints. Not even a single record of him being caught. It was like he had never existed at all. Olivia had no idea what happened to him in her past life.
โMaster, donโt ignore me! Just take me as your apprentice alreadyโฆ I promise Iโll be good!โ The little kid blinked up at her, eyes wide and pleading.
