Chapter 59: Smashing Heads with Vengeance

The entertainment tabloids from Oliviaโs previous life had splashed her face across their pages, branding her a gold-digging mistress. The source? A scandalous photo of her entering a hotel with Jack, a man already engaged to someone else. The fallout was disastrous, pushing her out of the entertainment industry and into the unforgiving spotlight of public scorn. That incident was one of the key reasons she later took up martial artsโit was either fight back or fall apart.
Now, in this life, fate had handed Olivia an opportunity to settle scores much sooner than expected. Staring at Jack, her fingers curled into a fist, the itch for justice burned in her veins.
Lucas led the way into one of Lock Barโs private rooms where Jack sat surrounded by his usual entourage of lackeys and two sweet-faced women draped over his shoulders. When Jack saw Lucas, his expression brightened, ready to greet him. But the moment his eyes landed on the figure behind Lucas, his grin froze. Olivia.
Recognition flickered in Jackโs eyesโhe had handed her photo to the thugs, after all. His expression quickly turned sour.
โMr. Thompson, care to explain this?โ Jackโs tone was sharp, his gaze locked on Olivia as he straightened in his seat. That single reaction was all Lucas needed to confirm Jackโs guilt.
โJack,โ Lucas said, his usual easygoing demeanor replaced by a cool, authoritative air. โThis is my friend. Why the hell are you sending people to mess with her?โ
Jack arched a brow, his voice dripping with faux innocence. โMess with her? Of course not. I only sent them toโฆensure she never uses those hands of hers again. Lucas, Iโm giving you a courtesy here by explaining myself. This Olivia offended Lil, and if she thinks sheโll get away with it, sheโs sorely mistaken.โ
The mention of Lil clicked for Lucas immediately. Jack had been chasing Lily, a fellow student at St. Rona Academy, for years with no success. Despite being repeatedly rejected, he styled himself as her personal avenger.
โTry it,โ a cold voice interrupted.
Benjamin stepped forward, his towering frame exuding an icy menace. His dark eyes locked onto Jack, daring him to continue. Jack froze for a moment. Benjamin?
โMr. Benjamin, youโre stepping in for this girl too?โ Jackโs voice cracked slightly, the bravado in his tone faltering. Benjaminโs family name carried far more weight than Jackโs. If Lucas was a thorn in his side, Benjamin was a wrecking ball.
โExactly.โ Benjamin glanced at Olivia briefly, his voice steady and calm.
Jackโs mind scrambled. Olivia was no longer just some random girlโshe had Lucas and Benjamin on her side. Alone, he could handle Lucas. But Benjamin too? That was a losing game.
โFine,โ Jack relented through gritted teeth. โSince youโre asking, Mr. Benjamin, Iโll let this go. Consider it done.โ
Benjaminโs expression didnโt waver. โApologize.โ
Jack blinked, incredulous. โApologize? To her?โ He scoffed, gesturing dismissively. โDonโt push it, Benjamin. Iโm already stepping back here. You expect me to apologize to this nobody? She doesnโt even deserveโโ
Before he could finish, Olivia stepped forward, her calm presence silencing both Lucas and Benjamin.
โSince youโve found him for me,โ she said with a faint smile, โIโll handle it from here.โ
Lucas and Benjamin exchanged wary glances. Something about Oliviaโs tone set off alarm bells in their minds. Jack, oblivious, smirked, mistaking Oliviaโs approach for submission.
โYouโre Olivia, right? Iโll give you credit for having the guts to bring these two in. Clearly, youโre good at keeping them entertained. Tell you what, pour me a drink, and Iโll consider this incident behind us.โ
Oliviaโs gaze shifted to the table where a collection of untouched beer bottles rested. Her lips curved upward.
โSure,โ she said sweetly. โLet me get you a drink.โ
Without hesitation, she grabbed a bottle and swung it hard. The heavy glass shattered against Jackโs skull, shards flying in every direction as beer mixed with blood trickled down his face. The room fell silent. The two women screamed, leaping off the couch.
Lucas froze in disbelief. โAre you insane?! This is his bar!โ
Benjamin remained silent, but his sharp eyes flicked between Jack and Olivia, ready to step in if needed. Jack stumbled, clutching his head as he howled in pain. โYouโฆ crazyโฆ bโโ
Before he could finish, Olivia grabbed another bottle. โYouโre welcome to another,โ she said, her tone as sweet as before.
Jackโs entourage snapped out of their daze, enraged and ready to attack. โGet her!โ Jack roared, blood dripping down his face. โIโll kill her!โ
Benjamin was already moving, cutting off two of Jackโs lackeys with swift, brutal punches. Lucas, eager to prove his worth, grabbed a bottle himself, smashing it over another thugโs head. โNot today, fellas!โ
Olivia, meanwhile, delivered a sharp kick to the nearest attacker, sending him flying into the wall. The room descended into chaos, but Oliviaโs grin only widened. Tonight, she wasnโt just settling a score. She was delivering a reckoning.
