Chapter 60: The Feisty Girl Takes Hostages Online
The thick glass bottle shattered over Jackโs head, the sound reverberating through the room. The two girls sitting beside him screamed shrilly, utterly stunned by the ferocity of the seemingly delicate girl who had just struck. Lucas was equally dumbfounded.
โLady, this is Jackโs bar!โ he exclaimed, his voice tinged with disbelief. Saying that, Lucas quickly locked the door to the private room. Jack, reeling from the blow, was clutching his head, blood mixed with beer dripping down his face in rivulets.
โYou wench! What are you idiots standing around for? Get her! Beat her to death!โ Jack yelled, his voice shaking with both pain and fury. His group of cronies snapped out of their stupor at his shout. Smashing their beer glasses against the table, they charged at Olivia.
Benjamin sprang into action, leaping forward and taking down two attackers with precise punches. Not to be outdone, Lucas grabbed a bottle from the table and swung it expertly, landing two clean hits on the heads of the advancing thugs. โIโll be damned if I lose a fight to a girl again,โ Lucas muttered, determined.
The room devolved into complete chaos. Bottles flew through the air, shattering on walls and floors, while the two girls who had been sitting next to Jack screamed continuously. The commotion quickly attracted attention from outside, and soon, the sound of heavy pounding echoed from the door.
โMr. Armstrong! Are you alright?!โ came frantic shouts from the barโs security. Jack staggered to his feet, swaying slightly, and roared toward the door, โWhat the hell are you waiting for? Get in here!โ
Inside the room, Benjamin and Lucas had already dealt with the thugs, leaving most of them sprawled and groaning on the ground. But the mounting commotion outside wasnโt promising. Lucas shot a worried glance at the door. โWe found the guy. Couldnโt you have waited until he was alone? Now weโre stuck on his turf, and heโs got a ton of security.โ
At least a few dozen of Jackโs men were likely outside. Even the three of them couldnโt fend off an endless wave of reinforcements.
โNow youโre scared?โ Jack spat, blood dripping down his chin as he glared at them with newfound confidence. โYou three arenโt leaving this place standing!โ
Olivia, unfazed, kicked Jack square in the stomach, sending him crumpling back to the floor with a pained wheeze.
โStupid woman! Iโll kill you for this!โ Jack bellowed, clutching his stomach and grimacing. Lucas glanced nervously at the now-shaking door. โWhat do we do now?โ
Benjamin calmly pulled out his phone and made a call. Meanwhile, Olivia grabbed a beer bottle, smashed it against the table, and pressed the jagged remains against Jackโs neck. A bead of fresh blood immediately surfaced, trickling down his skin.
Jack froze, beads of sweat forming on his brow. โWhatโฆ what are you doing? If you kill me, youโll never get out of here alive!โ
Oliviaโs voice was soft, almost soothing, yet terrifyingly calm. โStand up.โ The sharp edge dug a little deeper into his neck, prompting him to immediately scramble to his feet, his large frame trembling like a frightened bird.
โAlright, alright! Just calm down! We can talk this out!โ Jack pleaded, on the verge of tears.
Olivia smiled sweetly. โI am calm. But if you keep talking too much, my hand might slip. That wouldnโt end well, would it?โ Her slow, deliberate tone chilled Jack to the bone. He stood stock-still, not daring to move.
โI wonโt say another word. Justโฆ donโt slip!โ he whimpered.
โGood boy,โ Olivia said, her voice dripping with mock sweetness.
Jack wanted to cry. Were girls these days all this terrifying?
