Chapter 65: I Like Pink
Lucas gave Olivia a look like sheโd just said the most absurd thing heโd ever heard and whispered, โYouโre not seriously worried about Mr. Benjaminโs safety, so youโre trying to keep him out of the race, are you?โ
Olivia rolled her eyes. โYou need to keep your treatment going.โ
Benedict, unaware of the actual situation, assumed Benjamin had said as much. The amused expression on his face showed a slight crack.
โYouโre joking, right? If Benjamin wasnโt planning to race, why would he even come here?โ he asked, clearly skeptical.
Olivia replied casually, โHeโs just here to watch. Weโre heading out for dinner afterward.โ
Benedict was speechless. Benjamin looked at Olivia.
She wants to have dinner with me? In that case, skipping the race doesnโt sound so bad.
Upon noticing Benjaminโs lack of objection, Benedictโs face stiffened further, his smile faltering as a hint of desperation seeped through.
โBenjamin, this isnโt funny. You know how cocky Hudsonโs been today. Nobody here stands a chance against him but you! Iโve put down a big bet on you to winโฆโ
Realizing Benjamin wasnโt refuting Oliviaโs claim, Benedict turned his attention to her, sensing her influence over him. Putting on a friendly smile, he said, โMiss, how about this? Once Benjamin finishes the race, Iโll treat you both to dinner. You can have anything you want.โ
Olivia observed the subtle shifts in Benedictโs expression. If she had only suspected him before, she was now certain. Benedict was the one who framed Benjamin. If Benjamin skipped the race, Benedictโs entire plan would fall apart. He had been sucking up to Benjamin all along, waiting for the right moment to remove him without arousing suspicion.
โWaiting around is boring,โ Olivia said nonchalantly. โHow about you get me a car, and Iโll race too?โ
Benjaminโs eyes lit up immediately. From the moment theyโd met, heโd been itching for a chance to race against her.
Benedict was caught off guard. It was the first time heโd encountered a girl asking to join a race. โWellโฆโ
โIf itโs a problem, weโll just go have dinner,โ Olivia said, feigning regret.
Benedict couldnโt let Benjamin leave. Gritting his teeth, he smiled. โThatโs fine. How about you take my car?โ
He led her to his silver-gray sports car and handed her the keys. Olivia slid into the driverโs seat. While Benedict chatted with Benjamin, she deftly slipped the packet ofโฆ
โHow is it?โ Benedict asked.
Olivia shook her head. โNot good.โ
Benedict blinked in confusion. This car cost me millions to modify! How could it not be good? Does she even know what sheโs talking about?
โItโs too ugly,โ Olivia added.
Benedict glanced at his sleek, silver-gray sports car, which heโd considered one of the most stylish vehicles tonight.
โI like pink,โ Olivia said flatly.
Benedict nearly choked.
Lucas, standing nearby, blinked in disbelief. Pink? Since when is Olivia into pink?
Benedictโs eye twitched as he processed the insult to his prized car. All those millions spent, only for it to be called ugly because it wasnโt pink.
Olivia ignored Benedict and turned to Lucas. โGet me a car.โ
Lucas was dumbfounded. โWhat? Do I look like a parking lot to you?โ
Benjamin glanced at him, his meaning clear.
Lucas sighed in resignation. โFine, follow me, your highness. Iโll find you a car. A pink one, no less.โ
Where the hell am I supposed to find a pink car? he thought bitterly as he led Olivia to the parking area to search.
