Chapter 64: He Just Showed Up

Lucas looked at the crowd at the foot of the mountain and turned to Olivia. “Olivia, your decision today was really smart. If you hadn’t come, you would’ve missed out on a great show.”

“A great show?” Olivia asked, confused.

“Today is the showdown between the two greatest drivers, the battle of the titans!” Lucas replied.

“Hmm?” Olivia responded.

Lucas pointed to Benjamin. “Mr. Benjamin is the acknowledged god of racing in our circle. Besides him, Hudson Sullivan from Bellview is here too. Have you heard of Hudson? He’s basically a professional racer, and if his dad hadn’t objected, you’d be watching him on TV by now.”

Lucas was getting into the conversation, but Olivia wasn’t really paying attention to him. Her attention was drawn to a red Ferrari outside the window.

“Isn’t that the car that got stolen from me?”

Standing next to the Ferrari was James, looking flashy, chatting with a group of girls. Olivia raised an eyebrow.

“Is this some kind of joke? That bastard just showed up by himself?”

“Is he here to race?” Olivia asked, pointing at James in the crowd.

Lucas glanced involuntarily and tugged at the corner of his mouth. “James? That guy always shows up to race…” As Lucas spoke, he suddenly noticed that James’s car was different today.

“Wow, this kid’s struck it rich! When did he get himself a Ferrari?”

Benjamin also noticed James and the familiar Ferrari. He instinctively looked at Olivia. He remembered that car was hers.

When Benjamin’s signature sports car arrived at the foot of the mountain, it caught quite a few people’s attention. After the three got out of the car, a young man ran up. “Benjamin, you’re finally here! I couldn’t reach you this afternoon. I was worried you weren’t coming.”

Benjamin nodded slightly. Lucas and Olivia stood a few steps away, watching as Benjamin greeted the young man.

“I can’t stand this guy. If I were Mr. Benjamin, I would’ve kicked him out of the family a long time ago.”

“Who is he?” Olivia asked.

Lucas whispered, “His name’s Benedict, Benjamin’s half-brother.”

Lucas nodded. “He’s the son of Benjamin’s dad and a mistress. He was kept outside the family, but a few years ago, he was brought back into the Moore family. Don’t be fooled by his young age. This brat is crafty. He’s done a lot to try and win over Mr. Benjamin.”

Olivia’s eyes flickered slightly. Half-brother? So that’s it.

As Benedict talked to Benjamin, he suddenly noticed Lucas and Olivia behind him. After greeting Lucas, his gaze instinctively fell on Olivia. Earlier, he had seen that the girl had gotten out of Benjamin’s car.

“Who’s this?” Benedict asked with a smile, looking at Olivia.

Benjamin had never allowed a woman in his car, but this girl seemed so ordinary; if he hadn’t been standing here, he wouldn’t have given her a second look in the crowd.

“Just a friend,” Benjamin said.

Hearing the indifference in Benjamin’s tone, Benedict became even more curious about Olivia’s identity. But he didn’t show his thoughts on the surface.

“Benjamin, I heard Hudson say that he’s determined to take first place this time. Our reputation’s riding on you,” Benedict added.

Benjamin didn’t respond, but Olivia suddenly spoke up. “You’re probably going to be disappointed. Benjamin isn’t racing today.”

As soon as Olivia said that, everyone around them froze. Benjamin had completely forgotten he had ever said such a thing.
