Chapter 67: Borrowing a Car from the Rival

The girl was over the moon. A female racer, and one who could win first place at that! She said, “Wait here. I’ll go get my brother to hand you the car keys!” Before Olivia could respond, the girl hopped away to find her brother.

Lucas thought Olivia would go to any lengths to fool the girl. First place? What a joke! Moreover, both Benjamin and Hudson were racing today! Just as Lucas was about to mock Olivia’s recklessness, the girl returned, accompanied by a tall teenager. “Look, this is her! I want to lend my car to this lady!”

Lucas was silently waiting for the girl’s family to scold them for deceiving her, but when he looked up and saw her brother, he was stunned. “Hudson?” The girl turned out to be Hudson’s sister, Alice Sullivan. Dragged over by his sister, Hudson saw the two people in front of her car. A hint of surprise appeared on the teenager’s gentle face. “Lucas?”

Coming from the same circle, Hudson and Lucas knew each other very well. Hudson and Benjamin were both top-tier racers and rivals to Lucas, meaning their relationship was always a bit touchy.

“You want to borrow my sister’s car and claim you’ll win first place?” Hudson raised an eyebrow. His rosy face held an amused look, giving him a sunny aura and making him the opposite of Benjamin.

Lucas was speechless. They had ended up borrowing a car from their rival’s family member. Well, this is awkward! “Hudson, I’m not lending to him, but the lady next to him,” Alice said, blinking and pointing at Olivia.

Only then did Hudson notice Olivia beside Lucas. This plainly dressed girl was completely different from all the scantily clad, flirtatious women around him looking to hook up with rich men. She wore glasses and seemed quiet and well-behaved.

“Is she your girlfriend?” Hudson asked Lucas. Lucas shook his head vigorously like a rattle drum. “Don’t talk nonsense! Olivia’s my classmate!”

If Benjamin found out, would he still have his life? Hudson smiled and looked at Olivia. “I modified this car for my sister. Since she wants to lend it to you, don’t mind you driving it.”

Hudson agreed so quickly that Lucas suspected he had some ulterior motive. No one should be fooled by Hudson’s harmless appearance, for he always had lofty ambitions. Hudson added, “But this car is for Alice to win first place in the future. If you don’t win this time, you’ll have to figure out another way to make her happy.” His sunny gaze, paired with a rosy face, was an absolutely lethal combination.

“Alright,” Olivia said.

Hudson widened his smile. “For safety reasons, may I have your number? If you drive off with my sister’s car after the race, I won’t be able to explain to her.” Olivia understood and gave Hudson her number.

Lucas stood in bewilderment. His intuition told him Hudson was definitely trying to flirt with Olivia! He felt very uncomfortable. Olivia wasn’t exactly stunning, even with her glasses, yet Benjamin and now Hudson were both smitten by her. What’s going on? Has beauty standards changed?

Hudson smirked after saving Olivia’s phone number. “Olivia, would you consider a song as payment for lending our car to you?” Olivia was slightly taken aback.

Hudson explained, “Asher Vaughn’s my uncle. He showed me the video of you performing The Radiance and the Darkness.”
