Chapter 69: Kneel and Call Me Dad
Everyone instinctively shifted their gazes toward Olivia, watching her in silence. James, who had come to bet for fun, finally noticed Oliviaโs presence. The moment he saw her, he froze. When he saw the pile of cash she had placed on one of the racersโ names, his eyes widened in disbelief. He yelled, โOlivia, youโre racing too? What kind of joke is this?โ
Olivia glanced at James, who had shown up out of nowhere, and snorted. โIf a thief like you can participate, why canโt I?โ
James narrowed his eyes. โDonโt slander me! Whoโs a thief?โ
Last time, Olivia not only beat him up but also threw him off her car. He still hadnโt gotten over it, which was why he secretly took off with Oliviaโs car. He didnโt believe Olivia would have the guts to call the police. If she did, their parents would surely screw her over.
James said mockingly, โYou think youโre worthy of racing? Racing is something for men, not a woman like you. Racingโs always a manโs world. Whatโs a woman like her doing here?โ
Jamesโs words instantly made Benjamin and Hudson upset.
โNo one said women canโt participate in this race,โ Benjamin said coldly.
Hudson shot back, โThereโs nothing wrong with Ms. Carter racing. Itโs those who disrespect women who shouldnโt be here.โ
The fact that both Benjamin and Hudson spoke up for Olivia left everyone amazed. They looked at the unassuming girl, unable to understand why these two racing legends would stand with her. James didnโt expect his words to attract the attention of these two legends, making him embarrassed immediately. He tried to defend himself, โIโฆ I didnโt mean she canโt race as a woman. I just meant sheโฆ doesnโt even know how to race. Sheโs just here to mess around. Iโll bet if she participates, she wonโt even finish. And betting on herself to win? Does she seriously think she can get first place?โ
Jamesโs words sparked a lot of discussion. There had never been a female racer at Mt. Hevana, so Oliviaโs appearance was already very surprising. What was even more laughable was her audacity to bet on herself to win. Wasnโt that the ultimate joke?
โExactly, sheโs just here for fun. How could a girl possibly outrace all the guys?โ
โShe probably wonโt even catch a glimpse of Benjamin and Hudsonโs taillights.โ
Hearing what everyone around him had to say, James grew more confident. โIf she wins first place, Iโll kneel and call her Dad!โ
Olivia, who had been silent until now, suddenly spoke up. โYou said that yourself.โ
James was momentarily taken aback. โWhat?โ
Olivia looked at James and repeated, โIf I win first place, youโll kneel and call me dad.โ
Jamesโs eyes widened. Was he supposed to be scared of her? โFine! But what if you donโt win first place?โ
โDo whatever you want.โ Olivia shrugged lightly.
James sneered. โAlright! If you donโt win first place, then youโll kneel and call me Dad!โ
โDeal,โ Olivia agreed immediately.
James warned, โYouโre digging your own grave. Donโt blame me for that.โ
He then left the betting area. Olivia never mentioned the car the entire time, which satisfied him greatly.
Unfortunately, James had no idea that the reason Olivia didnโt demand her car back immediately was because she had a bigger plan in mind. What Olivia wanted was far more than just getting her car back. She needed to do something worse to James, or else she would be letting him off too easily.
