Chapter 253

Natalie held Anne’s hand and said, “Grandma, I have to meet with a client tonight. I’ll come back in a few days when I have time to keep you company. Being alone at home, you must be cautious.”

Anne nodded sadly. It was rare to have someone who genuinely cared for her, and she truly loved Natalie.

Anne said, “Natalie, we still haven’t found the person who poisoned Charlotte. Alas, she’s had such a hard life. After she married William, I treated her with the utmost respect, as if she were my own daughter. However, what William did has caused her to harbor a deep resentment towards our family.”

Thinking about Charlotte always saddened Anne. Anne wasn’t aware of the extent of trouble the Garcia family would face. Easton could be plotted against by those illegitimate children out there at any moment.

Natalie gently comforted Anne, saying, “Grandma, Charlotte is a good person and will surely find her way. She’s doing well now and has always understood your kind intentions. The real pain comes from the feelings she had for William, which caused her such deep hurt.”

Natalie knew what was going on. She was aware of things that Easton didn’t know about. Easton respected his enemy, and Natalie had nothing to comment on it. But now wasn’t the right time yet. Natalie just needed to wait a bit longer.

Anne, feeling exhausted, said, “Natalie, I want to take a nap.”

Natalie picked up her handbag from the table and said, “I’m heading back now. Grandma is fine.”

Easton said in a serious tone, “I’ll drive you.”

“No, I drove here myself,” Natalie refused firmly.

Easton frowned and walked over to her. He said, “I’ll drive you home and then go to the office.”

Natalie stepped back cautiously, eyeing him suspiciously. She thought, ‘Why does it feel like his attitude has changed?’ She stated, “No, thank you. I’ll be going to Maurice’s workplace later. It wouldn’t be suitable for you to accompany me.”

Easton’s eyes suddenly became serious. He thought, ‘How could she be so bold to date another man? Why wouldn’t it be suitable for me to follow her? Are they planning to do something shady?’

Easton warned angrily, “Natalie, don’t forget, you’re still my wife. You should keep your distance from other men.”

Natalie rolled her eyes and looked at him with disdain. She asked, “What’s the matter with you? Before, you wouldn’t even admit we were a couple, and now you’re claiming I’m your wife. Please, just keep doing what you did before and leave me alone. I’m desperate to divorce you.”

With that, Natalie turned and walked out. Easton kicked the coffee table in front of him, resulting in a loud bang. His usually handsome face twisted with anger as he placed his hands on his hips. He lost his composure, his eyes turning red with fury. However, he kicked with too much force, causing pain in his foot, so he ended up hopping on one foot twice.

Natalie heard the loud noise, turned around, and saw the scene. Seeing Easton hopping in pain made her laugh uncontrollably. She exclaimed in her heart, ‘Cool! It seems Mr. Insane has finally learned to cause some trouble for himself!’

Hearing Natalie’s cheerful laughter, Easton turned to look at the door. Seeing her dazzling smile, as beautiful as ever, made his heart skip a beat.

With a smile, Natalie asked, “Mr. Garcia, why do you have a tendency for self-punishment?”

Easton shouted, “Natalie, you…”

However, Natalie waved her hand and said, “Bye, Mr. Garcia.” Then Natalie opened the door and ran out. Running away wasn’t funny, but when she saw Easton’s pretty face twisted in pain, she couldn’t help but laugh again.

Natalie didn’t go to Maurice’s company; she had already received the address he sent. The restaurant was near the villa, making it a short trip for her. Just now, she remembered something from her past: she had gone to the movies alone. The latest film was quite enjoyable; it was called “Daniel.”

While scrolling through her phone, Natalie came across the fantasy drama featuring a romance between a mentor and an apprentice, starring an actor she particularly admired. Natalie was planning to invest in films later, but today she simply wanted to watch a movie.

However, Natalie didn’t know that Easton was following her.

As soon as Natalie left, Easton followed her, worried she might go to see Maurice. He saw her park the car under the mall. Then Natalie went into a fruit shop and bought a box of cut-up fruit.

After that, Natalie went straight up to the sixth floor of the mall. Easton continued to tail her. Upon reaching the sixth floor of the mall, she purchased some popcorn and a large Coke, then bought a ticket for the movie “Daniel” and proceeded directly to the theater.

There was just a few minutes before it started. Easton had been to the cinema with Jennifer before, so he easily got a movie ticket and followed Natalie inside.

The theater was dimly lit, and even though it was a daytime show, there were many people. Natalie sat in the second-to-last row, and since the last row wasn’t full, Easton sat right behind her.

Natalie put her things to the side where there was a spot for her Coke. Easton watched her sip the iced Coke, frowning slightly, and thinking, ‘Girls really shouldn’t drink too many cold drinks.’

During Jennifer’s period, she experienced cramps. It was then that Easton realized women should avoid consuming too many cold items during menstruation.

However, even though he noticed Jennifer’s cramps, he never paid attention to Natalie. He wondered if Natalie had cramps during her period too.

That was when Easton realized he had completely ignored Natalie. No wonder she held such deep resentment towards him.

Natalie picked up a piece of popcorn and enjoyed its creamy flavor, closing her eyes in delight. Her long lashes fluttered slightly as she took another sip of Coke. That was awesome.

As the movie began, she quietly watched it. The film started on a tragic note, with the heroine being framed.

Daniel gazed at his former mentor with a cold, disgusted look in his eyes and said, “Sarah, you cared for me, saved me, and fed me miraculous pills, all just to extract my blood and suppress the evil within you. Now that the evil within you is subdued and my body serves no purpose, do you intend to dispose of me swiftly?”

The actor portraying Daniel possessed exceptional acting abilities, and Natalie particularly admired his tragic yet resilient demeanor. The actor appeared to be signed with Easton’s entertainment company. Natalie mused, “Tsk, Easton must have invested in this show as well. I have to admit, Easton is poised to make a fortune once again. I missed out on investing in this movie, but I have a good idea which other films will be hits.”

For example, the movie starring Jennifer and Octavian would not even get the opportunity to air. While Natalie stayed by Anne’s side when she was asleep, Natalie checked her phone and suddenly remembered Octavian’s fate in her previous life.

She was waiting to see the drama unfold soon.
