Chapter 307

Natalie glanced at Eastonโ€™s cold, angry eyes. He was always like this, responding to situations with indifference toward her.

Easton had never been willing to trust her, not even once.

Natalie let out a cold laugh; her smile was somber and beautiful, yet tragic against the snow.

Easton felt a sharp pain in his heart from her expression, a sorrow he had never felt before, only for Natalie.

โ€œEaston, I can repeat it as many times as you want. When you helped Jennifer bully me again and again, and when you repeatedly abandoned me, did you not think that I might come to hate you?โ€ Natalie let out a self-deprecating laugh.

Easton felt his heart tighten suddenly.

He had already learned the truth, leaving him speechless and unable to argue.

Natalie ended up being bullied by Davian because Easton had kicked her out of the car on the highway.

As her husband, it seemed all Easton had given her was pain.

Natalie was the only woman in the world who truly loved him, yet he completely broke her heart.

The disappointment in Natalieโ€™s eyes filled Easton with panic.

Natalie looked at Easton, who was silent, and continued, โ€œEaston, I know you donโ€™t want a divorce because of the inheritance. Since I once loved you, I havenโ€™t pushed you to divorce. Two years will pass quickly, and then Iโ€™ll file for divorce.โ€

By then, Easton would have full control, with nothing holding him back. He would let go.

In Natalieโ€™s mind, Easton always prioritized Jennifer and his own interests.

Natalie always knew that Easton didnโ€™t love her. Now, he was treating her well because guilt had brought him back after discovering some truths.

But this side of Easton really annoyed Natalie.

Eastonโ€™s eyes were filled with anxiety as he faced Natalieโ€™s cold stare. She wasnโ€™t bothered by previous incidents, but the event on the highway could make Natalie completely lose faith in him.

'So, she knew everything,' Easton wondered.

His eyes darkened, his voice hoarse like the harsh winter wind, โ€œFine! When two years are up, Iโ€™ll divorce you. But not now.โ€

โ€œThereโ€™s one year left. This year could be a turning point,โ€ he thought, determined. Easton left in silence.

Natalie took a deep breath to suppress all the bitterness in her heart, and then she drove in.

She drove into the garage, parked the car, and then went straight in through the side door.

The heating was on in the house, and as soon as she entered, she was enveloped in warmth. Natalieโ€™s heart, cold and aching, was instantly warmed.

Maybe it was because this was her familiar home that she felt warm and at ease, not so restless.

She checked the time. In a few days, it would be Zoeโ€™s due date, and Natalie planned to be with her.

Jason might not be reliable, but Zoe was Natalieโ€™s good friend.

Natalie sent Carl a message, letting him know sheโ€™d be out of town for a few days and asking him to keep an eye on the company and also to design the Sylvaris Resorts development.

When Natalie got back from the island, the land Jennifer bought from Murray would be developed. By then, Jennifer and her supporter would be furious.

Even with such a detailed plan, there would still be gaps.

Peopleโ€™s thoughts changed constantly. Just because Natalie knew what happened during her time travel didnโ€™t mean things would go the way she planned. Natalie had to prepare a lot of backup plans.

But today, Jennifer finally made herself so angry that she went mad.

Natalie had watched the scene unfold, and she was in a fantastic mood.

Just then, Carl messaged her: [Natalie, got it. You finally realized and stopped wasting your youth on Easton.]

Seeing the message, Natalie got a little choked up.

Is that how Carl sees me too? Wasting my youth on a man who isnโ€™t worth it? she wondered.

Actually, Natalie didnโ€™t feel that way. Even though she loved Easton, she was clear-minded and learned everything she needed to.

A soft smile appeared on her lips, like a flower blooming in spring, bright and full of life.

Natalie: [Carl, I have come to my senses now. Keep it in mind. I know youโ€™re great at drawing architectural blueprints. Thereโ€™s a hot spring location behind the hill, which is why I want you to develop it. We could have hundreds of pools there, so draft up the plans first, and Iโ€™ll meet you to discuss them later.]

Carl: [Sure.]

Natalie saw Carlโ€™s response, and her face lit up with confidence.

Right after, a call came in on Murrayโ€™s phone.

โ€œHello,โ€ Natalie said with so much joy that even a simple greeting expressed her happiness.

โ€œNatalie, you sound to be in a good mood!โ€ Murray smiled.

Natalie laughed as she replied, โ€œEverything worked out perfectly today; Jennifer was utterly furious. When I went to her office, she had smashed everything inside. Of course, I felt great!โ€

โ€œNatalie, what goes around comes around, and this payback feels so good. Maxwell got so mad he ended up in the hospital, and his foolish son got detained for hitting a reporter,โ€ Murray reported.

Natalie was stunned for a moment.

Tsk, just got out and already causing troubleโ€ฆ Natalie wondered.

With Laylaโ€™s influence, she would have Maxwell bailed out in no time, but his reputation was already tarnished.

Bullying others and not knowing when to hold back could really damage oneโ€™s reputation.

โ€œMurray, as long as you get your thing done, thatโ€™s all that matters,โ€ said Natalie.

He began, โ€œItโ€™s done. Grandma wanted me to thank you properly. Your heads-up saved our company. If it werenโ€™t for you, this whole real estate deal wouldโ€™ve collapsed, and other projects would have been affected too. The Spencer family wouldโ€™ve been on a downhill path.โ€

โ€œYour warning really did my family a huge favor. When I investigated, I found out Maxwell was colluding with Mr. Garciaโ€™s sister-in-law. Those two have an affair, scheming together just to frame the Spencer Group."

โ€œBeing a part of the Spencer family, heโ€™s nothing but a rascal.โ€

Murrayโ€™s last sentence had a tone of gritted-teeth anger.

Natalie smiled brightly, โ€œMurray, please tell Emma thereโ€™s no need to thank me. I should be the one thanking you for trusting me back then.โ€

They both helped each other, and Natalie mentioned it just casually.

โ€œThatโ€™s out of the question. Natalie, youโ€™re a big contributor to our family. Grandma said she wants to give you 3% of the companyโ€™s shares," Murray added.

Natalie frowned slightly, recognizing Emmaโ€™s foresight. A 3% share in the Spencer Group was no small matter.

Natalie knew there was no such thing as a free lunch. Accepting shares from the Spencer family meant she would have to dedicate herself to them. While Emma was alive, she might appreciate her help.

If it were anyone else, they might think Natalie was overstepping and felt obligated after accepting favors. Natalie wasnโ€™t the type to do that.

She declined politely. โ€œMurray, I was just mentioning it casually, and I didnโ€™t really help you in any meaningful way. Hereโ€™s the deal.

โ€œIf you really want to thank me, letโ€™s work together when I get back. Donโ€™t worry. I wonโ€™t let you lose money. Itโ€™ll be a profitable venture for sure.โ€

Murrayโ€™s voice was concerned. โ€œNatalie, if you donโ€™t take the shares, Iโ€™ll feel burdened. What will it take for you to accept a part of our family shares?"
