Jason spat out a mouthful of dirty blood and quickly stood up. He was the cause of today’s trouble. Known for his loyalty, he couldn’t just stand by and let his good friend suffer. “Natalie, I know you want to return to the Simpson family. If you do me this favor, I’ll talk to Dad about letting you come back.”

Natalie smiled at him, “Only you guys would want someone like Nick for a ‘dad.’ I have no interest in calling him that. With affairs outside and the main family untouched, having his blood in my veins is just disgusting.”

Just thinking about having that kind of father felt like an invisible force crushing her heart, suffocating her with unspoken pain. The sadness overwhelmed her heart like a tidal wave. Natalie leaned against her brother, her voice tired. “James, let’s go home.”

Seeing her so upset, James felt like his heart was being torn apart. “Alright. I’ll take you home.” James gave Jason a cold warning glance.

Jason clenched his fists. He thought, ‘What does Natalie mean by that?’ He could only watch helplessly as they left.

He looked up and saw Easton not far away. He quickly ran over. “Easton-“Before he could finish the sentence, Easton punched him.

Jason was furious, gritting his teeth in pain and feeling very wronged. “Easton, after all these years of being friends, why did you hit me?”

Easton’s eyes were cold and sharp, his voice filled with anger. “Jason, are you even human? You let Zach humiliate Natalie, your own sister. You’re worse than an animal for doing such a thing.”

Jason sneered and touched his slapped face, saying, “Easton, don’t forget, you used to be with us when we mocked and humiliated her. Was it just because she was so poisonous? We’re alike, and does someone as spiteful as Natalie really deserve my kindness?”

Easton remained silent, aware that Jason’s family was convinced that Natalie had malicious intentions. “But aside from Jennifer saying she was hurt by her, has she harmed anyone else?”

Jason was stunned for a moment, “Half a year ago, she and Zoe schemed against me, making me end up with Zoe. Do you think she hasn’t hurt me?” Jason was so angry that he immediately turned away and left.

Easton frowned, his eyes filled with intense coldness. The words from Natalie and Murray kept circling in his mind. Whether they’re true or false, time will give him the answer.

Jennifer managed to get the video proving that Natalie poisoned his mother. Either she bribed his villa’s staff, or she never actually left. Even if she left, she came back without anyone knowing. Jennifer was already quite good with computers.

Easton looked at Xavier behind him and said, “Investigate the events from half a year ago. You were there back then.”

Xavier remembered that night when Jennifer’s family insisted they all go on a fun trip together. Ms. Nelson next door also went along.

That night, something happened. Jennifer said Natalie plotted to pair Jason and Zoe together because Zoe liked Jason. But Natalie and Zoe tried hard to defend themselves, though no one believed them.

Jennifer was sure it was Natalie’s plan against Jason. Jason, who had feelings for Jasmine, felt guilty towards her and in turn, hated Natalie and Zoe.

The Nelson family moved away. Zoe suffered a lot of grievances and her parents moved away with her in grief. Breaking ties with the Simpson family made things even more complicated.

Xavier said, “Mr. Garcia, I’ve only just found out that Ms. Shawn has some medical skills, so it’s understandable why people might have their doubts about her. But looking at it from Jennifer’s perspective, Jasmine is her friend. Honestly, I wouldn’t want to marry a woman like that. She’s too wild, always partying, smoking, drinking, getting into fights, and causing chaos. I’ve witnessed it all myself. Since we have a project that often takes us to bars for discussions, that young master enjoys the bar atmosphere. We’ve bumped into each other a few times, but we’ve never greeted each other.”

In Xavier’s view, Jasmine was just a troublemaking girl. Not suitable for a stable life; he preferred someone like Natalie, who could be elegant in the parlor and adept in the kitchen.

Xavier said, “If Jason likes her, what can we say? Jasmine has a bad reputation in the circle, and Zoe from the Nelson family also has an interest in Jason, creating a love triangle. Also, I heard Jasmine is already pregnant, and Jason plans to marry her after the competition.”

Taking this opportunity, Xavier continued, “Mr. Garcia, besides you and the Simpson family, outsiders, including myself, always have a positive opinion of Ms. Shawn. Mr. William Garcia and Mrs. Charlotte Brown are very fond of her. Even the lady you sent to the psychiatric hospital liked her. Treat others with kindness, and you will be treated kindly in return. Easton gave him a cold look, feeling a strong urge to gouge out his eyes. “When did you see it?”

Xavier replied, “Oh. It was the last time we went to the island, on the night Jason had his accident. I ran into Ms. Shawn and Ms. Nelson on the path while they were heading for a swim. That’s when I saw the tattoo on Ms. Shawn’s chest. I also overheard their conversation. Ms. Nelson said, ‘Easton is completely in love with Jennifer, so why would you tattoo his name on your chest?’ I remember Ms. Shawn answering, ‘You love who you love, and she loves who she loves. Having the name of the person you love tattooed on your chest makes them feel closer to you.’ Ms. Nelson shouted at her, ‘Natalie, you’re such a hopeless romantic. Do you have to love so selflessly? Back then, you were taking care of Ms. Simpson because she accidentally scraped her hand while swimming during the day. If you had arrived just a few minutes later, the wound would have already healed.”

Easton said nothing. He wondered, ‘Natalie had my name tattooed on her chest, but I never knew?’

Noticing Easton’s eyes growing colder and the fury on his beautiful face, Xavier wisely chose to stay quiet.

“I’ll call Ms. Shawn and ask about what happened six months ago.” Xavier turned around and headed to a corner to call Natalie.

Natalie still showed Xavier some respect since he had been kind to her. Natalie answered his call with her usual good- natured attitude.

When the call connected, he said gratefully. “Ms. Shawn, thank you because of something that happened six months ago. I want to. Could you give me some clues?”
