Chapter 53

Initially, Daphne had no intention of fighting, but she had no choice. She turned to retaliate, but the club manager arrived from the hallway. He glanced at her before bowing. "Ms. Smith, you're here! Let me take you and your guests to your suite immediately." Daphne frowned. She'd met the manager before; he'd been overly eager to please her. How had his attitude changed so drastically?

"Didn't you see me standing here? Is this how your club treats its guests?" Daphne asked sharply.

The manager's smile vanished. "Oh, Ms. Yeager. My apologies, I must have missed you. I'll have someone assist you." He gestured to a nearby cleaning lady. "You, find a suite for Ms. Yeager."

She was still a top-tier celebrity, divorced from Wilson or not. A third-tier celebrity like Yvonne could mock her under Wilson's protection, but now, even a club manager dared to humiliate her? Unbelievable!

"I want you to attend to me personally. Do you understand?" Daphne demanded, her gaze sharp and commanding.

Yvonne said, "Ms. Yeager, there's no need to make things difficult. He's just following orders. Mr. Zelinski specifically instructed him to reserve this suite for me. Why take it out on him?"

"Shut your mouth! Was I talking to you? Are you a fly buzzing around a public restroom? Do you have to be everywhere?" Daphne pulled out a black card and tossed it at the manager. "I'll pay you double what Wilson offered. I want this suite!"

The manager, tempted by her offer (his income relied heavily on commission), glanced at Yvonne, who glared at Daphne with crossed arms. He remembered the Farrell family and tossed the card back. It hit Daphne before falling to the ground.

He said impatiently, "Ms. Yeager, this isn't about money. Mr. Farrell specifically instructed my boss that only Ms. Smith can use this suite. We can't offend him. Why don't you take it up with Mr. Farrell yourself?"

This was an obvious insult. Daphne's expression hardened. "Pick up the card."

"I'm sorry, Ms. Yeager, but I need to seat Ms. Smith and her guests. You may pick it up yourself. A scene won't look good later."

Sebastian, who had been silent, said, "Pick it up. Don't make me repeat myself."

Sebastian, the heir to the Turner family, kept a low profile. Few knew his identity, yet he exuded authority.

The manager froze. After a moment, he picked up the card.
