Chapter 61
After dealing with the haute couture matter, Daphne headed to the underground parking lot to drive home. As she stepped out of the elevator, her phone rang. She saw Sebastian's name on the screen.
She answered, smiling, and held the phone to her ear. "Hello, Sebastian. What's got you calling at this hour?"
"Where are you?" Sebastian didn't answer her question, immediately asking for her location.
Daphne replied, walking, "I just finished talking with Garry, and I'm about to drive home. What's up?"
"Nothing much. I'm in a good mood today and craving barbecue, but I don't feel like eating alone. I'm wondering if my future wife would be interested in joining her future husband."
Daphne smiled brightly and was about to agree when she felt a sharp grip on her wrist. Turning, she was startled to see Wilson standing behind her. His eyes, cold and venomous, locked onto her with chilling intensity.
Daphne's mood shifted instantly. Her expression darkened, and her voice rose. "Wilson, what are you doing here? Are you crazy? Have you been stalking me? Let me go!"
Wilson ignored her. "Are you on a call with Sebastian?"
His grip tightened, making Daphne drop her phone.
Daphne glared at Wilson, anger blazing. "Who I'm talking to is none of your business! Let me go! What are you, a ghost? Why do you keep showing up wherever I go? Are you insane?!"
She struggled, but couldn't break free. Finally, she stopped resisting, her anger morphing into mockery. She grabbed his tie and yanked it forward.
Caught off guard, Wilson was pulled down. His face was inches from hers, their breaths mingling.
A seductive, mocking smile played on Daphne's lips. "What's the matter? Isn't having Yvonne enough for you, Wilson? Why are you bothering your ex-wife?"
At her words, Wilson recoiled, disgust flickering in his eyes.
"Was this how you seduced Sebastian, Daphne? I hate to disappoint you, but I've seen everything you're capable of in bed. I grew tired of you long ago, so stop embarrassing yourself."
Daphne's smile froze, her expression hardening. Her voice turned icy. "Then why are you here, acting like a rabid dog, grabbing and manhandling me? Why aren't you with Yvonne? What's the point of showing up to throw a tantrum? Stop appearing in my life if you hate me so much!"
Wilson adjusted his tie, speaking coldly. "Don't act like you don't know what you've done to her. Why can't you even let her have a private room? Are you that insecure after divorcing me? Do you think you're worthy of competing with her?"
Several errors were corrected, including spelling ("shitted" to "shifted," "commers" to "corners," "bers" to "hers," "Daphine" to "Daphne," "gue" to "voice," "the" to "tie"), grammar (sentence structure, verb tense), and punctuation. The dialogue was also made to flow more naturally.
