Chapter 94

Yvonne stiffened, forcing out a scoff while nervously avoiding eye contact. "I'm nice. What's wrong with that?"

Joe politely pulled out the chair at the head of the table for Daphne, then took the seat beside her. The subtle gesture shifted Yvonne's status within the meeting room.

"We're thrilled that both of you value and appreciate our brand's perfumes," Joe began, with a formal tone of gratitude.

He turned to Yvonne. "Ms. Smith, we've already completed most of the evaluation process with Ms. Yeager, and both parties have expressed an intention to sign the contract. However"

During the evaluation phase, Joe had been the liaison with Daphne, and the two had already built trust and familiarity. Meanwhile, Yvonne had been haughty and overbearing during their morning meeting, dropping veiled threats about the Farrell Group. Her lack of humility had made Joe deeply uncomfortable. Therefore, Joe was inclined to choose Daphne, whether out of personal preference or based on their professional demeanors.

Joe continued, "I've already explained the situation and your intentions today. Given that the contract hasn't been officially signed yet, Ms. Yeager has graciously agreed to provide you with a fair opportunity to compete."

Yvonne was immediately angered by Joe's words. "What do you mean, 'she has graciously agreed to give me a chance'? Who is she in the company? Is she a stakeholder? Is she your boss?"

Joe, equally angered, shot back, "What else do you think is happening here? Why do you think Ms. Yeager is here today? We had already agreed to sign the contract today. We've aligned everything internally, and if it weren't for your sudden interference, she'd already be our brand ambassador. If this isn't her giving you an opportunity, then what is?"

Daphne lowered her head, suppressing a laugh. The argument reminded her of schoolchildren; both lacked adult restraint and composure.

Maintaining her calm expression, she gently patted Joe's arm, signaling him to calm down. Her tone cool and unwavering, she said, "Yvonne, whether you like it or not, Mr. Braun is right. If you're not interested in this opportunity, you can leave now."

Yvonne huffed, crossing her arms and leaning back with a smug, defiant posture. "Why should I? I've worked hard for this chance, so I'm not going anywhere!"

Daphne sighed and spread her hands in a mock gesture of surrender. "Fine. Then let's not waste each other's time. Since this is a competition, let Mr. Braun decide how we should proceed."

With Daphne's calm reassurance, Joe quickly tamped down his irritation and laid out his plan. "Although our brand focuses on high-end perfumes, both prestige and sales are crucial. So, I've decided that you will both participate in an online livestream sales event. The final sales figures will determine the brand ambassador. Are you both okay with this?"

Daphne replied promptly, "I have no objections." She consistently ranked among the top-performing actresses in livestream sales.

Not wanting to be outdone, Yvonne agreed, "Fine by me."

Joe continued, "Since you've both agreed, the livestream will be held at our company facility to ensure fairness. Our top in-house livestream host will facilitate. You'll both have the same time slot: 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm this coming weekend. You can choose your preferred day."

Daphne looked up, her tone filled with disdain. "Yvonne, you choose first. But let me make one thing clear—you'll have to accept the outcome. Don't blame the time slot if you lose."

Yvonne sneered triumphantly. "Thank you for your generosity, Ms. Yeager. I'll take Saturday."

Daphne stood, looking coldly at Yvonne. "Alright then. We'll see who wins this weekend. That's all for today. I have other matters to attend to, so I'll take my leave."
