Jillian clutched the phone tightly as she fought back a torrent of sobs. The police officer couldn’t bear to see her in such a state and handed her a tissue. “Don’t cry. We will do our utmost to locate your friend as quickly as possible.” Jillian took the tissue and nodded. “Thank you.”

At that moment, she spotted two tall and handsome men casually strolling in. The palpable intensity of their presence sent a ripple of surprise through the people in the police station. Sebastian was intimately familiar with matters concerning Madelyn and thus recognized Jillian.

As soon as he walked in, he went straight to Jillian. “What exactly happened?” Jillian was somewhat taken aback by his imposing demeanor. Still, it was clear to her that he was the one who had made the call earlier. And so, she succinctly recounted the events that had just transpired.

“I really didn’t mean to…” Jillian said, filled with regret.

Sebastian didn’t pay her any mind. In a cold voice, he asked, “Do we have the surveillance footage?” The police promptly pulled up the surveillance footage. The recorded footage captured Madelyn and Jillian walking side by side. Not far behind them, a group of black-clad thugs trailed closely. When they reached a fork in the road, Jillian suddenly took off running. Madelyn, despite her limp, also began to run. A few thugs immediately sprang into action, pursuing them. In the end, Jillian managed to escape successfully, but Madelyn did not. She was seized by a few individuals, struggling as they forced a bag over her head and roughly pulled her into a black van.

A raging inferno ignited in Sebastian’s eyes as he watched this scene. In full view of a crowded public place, they actually dared to kidnap Madelyn. They are practically asking for death! Wesley knew that Sebastian rarely lost his temper, but when he did, it was a truly terrifying sight. He yelled, “Get the chief out here for me!” The people at the police station were also startled by these two individuals and promptly went in to report. In less than a minute, the chief emerged, looking rather dejected.

Chapter 113: Despise You When he saw Sebastian and Wesley, a sudden jolt surged through his heart. He immediately bowed respectfully. “Mr. Lockhart, Mr. Gilbert.” Sebastian gave a cursory glance, devoid of any mood for idle chatter. He commanded, “Immediately mobilize all police forces and find her as quickly as possible!”

The chief was scared out of his wits. He didn’t dare to waste time. Nodding swiftly, he reassured. “Mr. Lockhart, don’t worry, I sent people to look for her a while ago, and we’ve already traced her whereabouts now…” After all, she was the daughter of the Thornton family. Even if the chief was incredibly brave, he wouldn’t dare to neglect her.

Wesley glanced at Sebastian. Despite his outward silence, he noticed that his fists remained clenched throughout. He comforted him. “Sebastian, don’t worry. There’s no use in worrying.” Sebastian remained silent. However, a massive storm had already begun to swirl in his eyes.

At that moment, a middle-aged man, who appeared rather authoritative, hurriedly walked in from outside the door. The person who had arrived was none other than Derek. Have we found her yet?” Sebastian nodded. “The police have already tracked her whereabouts. We’ll find her soon.” “That’s good. Let them know to search quickly! The sooner, the better!” Madelyn had always been the apple of his eye. The thought of her being kidnapped and undoubtedly suffering hardships left Derek consumed with profound distress.

However, amidst them, there was indeed a familiar figure–Ruth. Madelyn suddenly realized it was Ruth who had kidnapped her. She opened her mouth to speak, but a large piece of cloth had been stuffed into her mouth. Seeing Madelyn’s struggle to articulate her thoughts, Ruth felt a surge of satisfaction in her heart. Unable to contain her laughter, she exclaimed, “Madelyn, you b*tch! I’ve had it with you for a long time now. Today, you’ve finally fallen into my hands!” Madelyn furrowed her brows. Unable to voice her thoughts, she could only resort to casting a chilling gaze at Ruth.

Ruth had initially been quite pleased with herself, having finally managed to capture her. But the moment she saw the look in her eyes, she was instantly provoked. “How dare you glare at me? What gives you the right to do so?” Frustrated beyond words, she strode forward and delivered two harsh slaps. Madelyn couldn’t resist. She was hit so hard that her head was knocked askew. Yet, she remained unyielding, turning back to continue giving her a cold, hard stare. Ruth glared at her, seething with resentment, and promptly delivered a kick. “You’re still so stubborn. Who are you trying to impress?”

Then, she harshly yanked the cloth from her mouth. “You wanted to speak, didn’t you? Well, go ahead!” Madelyn took a deep breath and asked angrily. “Ruth, what the hell do you want by going to all this trouble to kidnap me here?” Ruth let out a hearty laugh. “You have the audacity to question me? If you hadn’t meddled in my affairs, would I have ended up in such a predicament? At such a young age, I was a prodigy in the finance industry. But because of you, my reputation was ruined. I was disowned by my family and scorned by everyone! Madelyn, do you have any idea how much I despise you?”

While Ruth spoke, her countenance shifted, revealing a mixture of bitterness and resentment. Madelyn showed no signs of fear. She scoffed, “It’s your fault that you’re in this situation. What’s it got to do with me?” Ruth was instantly filled with rage. “What’s it got to do with you? You’re asking what’s it got to do with you?”

Ruth suddenly stepped forward, fiercely grabbing a handful of her hair. Madelyn leaned back. Ruth’s face twisted in fury as she declared, “Let me tell you this, Madelyn! You dared to ruin me, so don’t think you’ll have it easy!” She began to laugh hysterically as if she had lost all sense of sanity. Her smile was incredibly sinister, giving off a somewhat terrifying impression at first glance.

Madelyn looked at her, a vague sense of foreboding creeping in.
