Chapter 115: I Am Going To Kill You
At that moment, Sebastian crouched down, looking at Madelyn with concern.
Her face was marked with a distinct red imprint. It was clear she had been slapped harshly.
A surge of fury ignited in Sebastianโs eyes. He was so enraged he could kill.
How dare they bully my woman? Theyโre courting death!
Sebastian took Madelynโs hand and walked straight up to the group of thugs.
โWho did this to her?โ His voice was chillingly cold.
The thugs had just been knocked over by Sebastian. Now, as they looked at him, they felt a hint of trepidation deep in their hearts.
They admitted honestly, โIt wasnโt us.โ
โReally?โ Sebastian snorted, obviously not believing it.
Then, he turned his gaze toward Madelyn. โWho among these people hit you?โ
I will definitely break their limb!
Madelyn looked up at the thugs.
Her body couldnโt stop trembling.
Just a moment ago, she had nearly been defiled by them. The feeling of utter despair and fear, even the mere thought of it, sent chills down Madelynโs spine.
She nestled in Sebastianโs arms and whispered, โSebastian, Iโm scaredโฆโ
Seeing her like this, Sebastian felt a pang of pain in his heart.
He held her in his arms, gently comforting her, โItโs all right now. Iโm here. No one can hurt you.โ
Only then did Madelyn nod, finally feeling somewhat relieved.
She looked at the group of thugs and said calmly. โSebastian, the one who hit me wasnโt them; it was Ruth. These guys were just hired by her. Sheโs the real instigator behind this whole incident, but she has already run away.โ
After she finished speaking, she looked somewhat regretfully toward the doorway.
This sly woman sure ran fast. If she had been a bit slower, she would have certainly been caught on the spot.
โWho said she ran away?โ At that moment, Wesley casually strolled over.
Madelyn turned her head to look at him. โI saw her leave with my own eyes.โ
โWell, thatโs unfortunate. On our way here, we spotted a woman driving recklessly. We found it odd, so we stopped her. Sheโs currently with us.โ
Wesley let out a chuckle.
โReally?โ Madelynโs disbelief was evident.
โYou donโt believe me?โ Wesley rolled his eyes in displeasure. โIf you donโt believe me, ask Sebastian.โ
Madelyn immediately turned to Sebastian, โSebastian, is it true?โ
Sebastian simply gave a slight nod.
An hour earlier, the police had tracked down the car used in Madelynโs kidnapping and had followed it all the way here.
Unexpectedly, they bumped into Ruth halfway through their journey.
Ruth was in a hurry, and Sebastian knew immediately that something was off.
This area was nothing but desolate wilderness. No one in their right mind would come all the way out here.
And so, she was intercepted.
It only showed that she wasnโt cut out for a life of crime.
Following her apprehension, the police conducted a casual interrogation. Ruthโs responses didnโt match her earlier statements.
Initially, she claimed she was there to enjoy the scene; but the police officer pointed out that they were in the suburbs โ hardly scenic.
Ruth swiftly changed her story, attributing her presence to a bad mood and a need to clear her mind.
In summary, her words were fraught with inconsistencies.
The police found her suspicious, so they immediately looked into her identity.
It was then that they realized she was the protagonist of the scandalous headline news about an unethical professor from a couple of days ago.
Of course, by now she had already been expelled from the university.
And Madelyn could be considered as the person indirectly responsible for her dismissal.
Given the circumstances and the chain of events that had unfolded, it wasnโt surprising that she resorted to having Madelyn kidnapped.
โAll right, we shouldnโt linger here any longer. Youโve already sprained your ankle. We should head to the hospital first,โ Sebastian said.
Madelyn nodded obediently, not putting up any resistance.
Having been kidnapped and tied to a chair, she bore numerous scrapes on her body. The pain was intense, and seeking medical attention was long overdue.
Sebastian bent down and carried her in his arms.
As soon as they stepped out, they saw Ruth standing off to the side, handcuffs on her wrists, evidently already subdued by the police.
Madelyn cast her a profound glance. Indeed, those who evoke pity often harbor equally detestable traits.
As they turned around to leave, Ruth cursed, โMadelyn, you b*tch!โ
She had never anticipated that by kidnapping Madelyn, she would ironically end up sacrificing herself.
And in the end, Madelyn actually emerged completely unscathed.
This left her feeling extremely angry. She wished she could march right up to Madelyn and tear her apart with her bare hands.
However, Madelyn was not someone to be trifled with.
Upon hearing Ruthโs harsh words toward herself, she couldnโt help but feel anger welling up from within.
She turned to Sebastian and said, โSebastian, let me down.โ
Sebastian didnโt say anything and simply set her down.
Madelyn stormed forward. She faced Ruth, and without hesitation, she raised her hand and slapped her twice.
โRuth, these are the two slaps you just gave me. Iโm giving them back to you now!โ
She had always been one to hold grudges and retaliate, especially against someone as malicious as Ruth. When it came to fighting, she naturally didnโt hold back.
Everyone at the scene gasped in astonishment. Ms. Thornton really is notorious for being wild!
Little did Ruth imagine that she would actually get hit by Madelyn.
She roared, โD*mn you, Madelyn! Iโm going to kill you!โ
She was on the verge of losing her sanity.
Unable to use her hands, she lifted her leg to kick Madelyn.
Immediately, Madelyn took a step back, causing her to kick at thin air.
Upon seeing the situation, the police quickly stepped in to control Ruth. โGet her in the car!โ
As Ruth was being dragged away, she continued to hurl insults, โMadelyn, just you wait! I will make sure your end is a miserable one!โ
Madelyn scoffed disdainfully.
Afterward, she followed Sebastian to the hospital.
Upon arriving at the hospital, Sebastian quickly arranged for a comprehensive examination to be conducted on Madelyn.
The doctors did not dare to slack off and conducted the examination with utmost attention.
In the end, one doctor took a deep breath and said, โMr. Lockhart, rest assured, Mrs. Lockhart has only suffered superficial skin injuries, along with the original sprain on her ankle. As long as she applies some medicine, she will be fine. Thereโs no major issue. As for the palm print on her face, it will fade once she gets home and applies some cold compress.โ
Sebastian finally felt reassured and subtly nodded in response.
Upon returning to the ward, he found that Madelyn had already fallen asleep.
Madelyn had a deep sleep that night.
When she woke up, she realized it was already the evening.
The sky outside the window was growing dim, and the harsh, bright light in the ward was somewhat blinding.
Madelyn opened her mouth, suddenly feeling a wave of thirst.
She subtly shifted her body, readying herself to sit up and get a drink of water.
Upon shifting her gaze, she discovered that Sebastian had been by the bed all along.
He was lying at the edge of the bed, sleeping peacefully.
