Chapter 128: Knock That Woman Off The Mountain

Not long after the two cars had departed, a figure, clad in a black hoodie and sunglasses, arrived at the race course. The individual disregarded everyone else and walked straight up to Andy. Then, while no one was paying attention, he discreetly slipped the latter a cheque.

โ€œHereโ€™s ten million. Find someone to drive that woman off the cliff. If itโ€™s successful, Iโ€™ll give you an additional twenty million afterward, got it?โ€ the man whispered into Andyโ€™s ear.

โ€œThirty million?โ€

Upon hearing this, Andyโ€™s eyes widened in disbelief. He had just been scraping by. Naturally, he was extremely tempted by the money.

After some thought, he couldnโ€™t help but reflect on the mountain race track. It was, after all, located on the winding roads of a cliffside where treacherous stretches were aplenty. It was, to say the least, extremely dangerous. Countless people had lost their lives there, and it was rare for anyone to escape unscathed even from a casual race. Collisions during races were all too common.

So, under such circumstances, even if someone were to fix the race, nobody would notice, right?

Thinking of this, Andy suddenly narrowed his eyes insidiously. Without any delay, he arranged for a few more cars and initiated a new race. However, to an outsider, this was merely an ordinary car race.

Meanwhile, Andy squinted his eyes. Donโ€™t blame meโ€ฆ Anyone who would pass up the chance to make thirty million must be a fool!

With this thought in mind, Andy shifted his gaze once again. As it turned out, the man who had been fully clad in a black hoodie had already blended into the crowd and was nowhere to be seen.

Meanwhile, Sebastianโ€™s car had sped up the mountain at a speed an average person couldnโ€™t handle. Wesley was seated in the car, his heart pounding so hard it felt like it would leap out of his chest. At that moment, he was filled with nothing but regret.

Iโ€™m doomedโ€ฆ Iโ€™m doomed for certainโ€ฆ If I had known earlier, I would never have come. At that moment, he was in total panic. This is a sharp bend, yet he is still driving like a madman. Is he trying to get us killed? If by any chance the car were to skid, it would plunge down the cliff!

Holding that thought, Wesley almost peed his pants. All he could do was continuously mutter, โ€œOh Godโ€ฆโ€

Initially, Josiah had thought Madelyn incompetent, viewing her as someone who had recklessly bitten off more than she could chew. However, when Madelyn skillfully drifted, taking the bends in a speedy yet stable manner, outperforming him, he was truly awed. Overwhelmed with admiration, Josiah couldnโ€™t help but glance at her curiously, exclaiming, โ€œWhere did you learn how to drive so well?โ€

Madelyn gave a nonchalant smile, modestly saying, โ€œIโ€™m not that good.โ€

Josiah immediately shook his head. โ€œNot that good?โ€

โ€œDo you know that this car was personally customized by me. Every single part is different from many other cars out there. Even for a seasoned driver, it would take some time to get used to my car, so how did you manage to adapt in such a short time?โ€ Josiah asked out of astonishment and curiosity.

He still couldnโ€™t believe it was real. This woman has completely mastered the nuances of driving this car. She is in no way inferior to me in doing so.

Meanwhile, Madelyn was focused on driving, expertly maneuvering a sharp turn. With a casual laugh, she replied nonchalantly, โ€œIf you insist, you can consider me a genius.โ€

Whatever. Josiah rolled his eyes in response, utterly speechless. She is truly not shy when it comes to praising herself. A single compliment and she lets it get into her head by calling herself a genius. But then again, she might actually be one, right? The way she drives, her skills, and even the timing of her turns are incredibly precise. Not a moment too early, and not a moment too late.

There were times when they were on steep slopes, accelerating and braking intermittently. On numerous occasions, it felt as if he was on his nerves, with his life hanging by a thread. Yet, the moment she turned the steering wheel, the car steadied and safely settled down. Moreover, she had successfully left their competitor in the dust. The technique she demonstrated was simply breathtaking, and Josiah was impressed. With her skill, she might even make it to the national team if she were to train for a few more years.

Following that, they drove and chatted along the way. After chatting for a while, they noticed the car behind them suddenly accelerate, catching up to them. Josiah glanced at the rearview mirror, tension forming in his chest. โ€œBe careful, theyโ€™re trying to overtake us!โ€

At that moment, Madelyn glanced at the rearview mirror, a calm smile subtly emerging between her lips. โ€œOvertake us? I doubt they even have the ability to do so!โ€

No sooner had the words left her mouth than Madelyn suddenly made a sharp turn, skillfully positioning...

At that moment, the person in the car behind them was so infuriated that he almost burst a vessel. He cursed, โ€œD*mn it!โ€

At that moment, Josiah couldnโ€™t help but laugh uproariously. I bet the people behind us must be fuming, arenโ€™t they? I canโ€™t believe how mischievous this woman is.

Madelyn seemed unperturbed as she stopped toying with the car trailing behind them. Upon reaching the bend, she suddenly accelerated, effortlessly leaving the competition far behind. However, before even reaching the next bend, she suddenly noticed three more cars tailing them. Their momentum was noticeably fiercer than before.

Whatโ€™s this?

Suddenly, Madelyn had a vague feeling that those three cars seemed to be pursuing her. Throughout the journey, those cars didnโ€™t care about anything else. They accelerated indiscriminately as if their sole purpose was to catch up.

However, Madelyn didnโ€™t overthink it. She then took several turns one after another. At that moment, Madelyn felt as though she saw the glow of headlights approaching from an intersection up ahead, suggesting the presence of numerous cars.

Meanwhile, Josiah found himself puzzled by the situation he was witnessing. He asked quizzically, โ€œWhatโ€™s going on here? Is someone else racing too? Darn it! Why choose this time of all times? Logically speaking, this race isnโ€™t even over yet. The next one shouldnโ€™t start this quickly!โ€

After speaking, he shrugged helplessly. โ€œI really have no clue what theyโ€™re up to.โ€

Upon hearing these words, Madelyn couldnโ€™t help but start speculating in her mind. But in the end, they were still in a race. Madelyn had to concentrate on driving and told herself not to overthink.

However, it wasnโ€™t long before things began to go awry. Behind them, the group of cars, as if in coordination with each other, suddenly switched on their high beams. Madelyn struggled to see clearly through the rearview mirror, and instinctively pressed down on the gas pedal, accelerating the car. Suddenly, she widened the gap between her car and the ones trailing behind.

After a while, she squinted to glance at the rearview mirror, only to find a car had already caught up with them. Moreover, the car was accelerating like mad, as if it was about to crash into them.

Madelynโ€™s heart skipped a beat. โ€œThis is bad!โ€

Sure enough, in the next moment, a dull thud echoed from the rear of the car.
