"What on earth?" Madelyn was at a loss for words. "Beatrice, which eye of yours saw me push her? I barely exerted any force, just enough to keep her from catching up. It’s clear as day that she fell because she couldn’t keep her balance."

"Seriously, do you think I’m blind?" Beatrice scoffed, pointing to her own eyes. "I saw it myself. You were the one who pushed her down! How much force did you use? Who can tell? Or are you suggesting someone would intentionally throw themselves into the water for fun?"

Madelyn gazed steadily at Janessa. Well, some people really do bring trouble upon themselves.

After speaking, Beatrice turned her gaze to Janessa, her face apologetic. “I’m truly sorry for the scare. Did she push you earlier?”

The tone of this question was far from being inquisitive. It was more like an interrogation.
