Reborn to My Engagement Night
Chapter 161 Sleeping Together
For a moment, everything felt perfectly harmonious.
Malcolm spoke up just then. โAll right, letโs continue.โ
With that, the meeting resumed.
The senior leaders took turns presenting their reports. Once everyone had finished, they gathered to discuss.
Everyone shared their views on the matter, suggesting various approaches to handle it. After a round of debates and comparisons, they settled on the best solution and proposed it to Sebastian, who had the final say.
Upon glancing at Sebastian, everyone was taken aback by the sight of Madelyn feeding him.
The usually aloof and superior CEO appeared as docile as a lamb, accepting each bite offered without complaint.
Harriet watched with an emotionless face, though a cold smirk played at the corners of her lips.
She watched as Madelyn scooped a piece of carrot from the soup and brought it to Sebastianโs lips.
Harriet distinctly remembered that Sebastian never ate carrots.
Quickly, she reminded, โSebastian doesnโt like eating carrots.โ
The tone of her voice gave the impression that Harriet knew Sebastian as well as the back of her hand.
Her words made Madelyn uncomfortable.
Without even acknowledging his protest, she promptly shoved the carrot into Sebastianโs mouth, her tone rather stern as she said, โYouโre not a child anymore; you canโt be picky with your food. Do you have any idea how nutritious carrots are?โ
Sebastian originally didnโt care much for carrots, but after hearing her out, he inexplicably found himself nodding. After a few chews, he swallowed the carrot.
Witnessing this scene, Harrietโs face involuntarily paled.
Everyone around was utterly dumbfounded.
They all knew that Sebastian was typically aloof and reticent, exuding an air of noble solitude that was characteristic of a sovereign.
Within the company, there had never been a single person who dared to raise their voice at him.
This woman was foolishly arrogant to order Sebastian not to be picky with his food.
In addition to that, Sebastian did not resist her.
Wesley looked at Sebastian as if heโd seen a ghost.
Good heavens, is this really the same Sebastian who, despite his young age, has the business world trembling in fear? Is this really the same reserved and aloof friend I know? The air stinks of love.
A few minutes later, Madelyn finally finished feeding him, feeling quite contented.
After tidying up the table, Madelyn didnโt have much else on her mind. She obediently seated herself off to the side, patiently waiting for their meeting to conclude.
They had a pretty good understanding of what was discussed in the meeting.
In reality, these meetings should have been confidential among the companyโs top brass. Everyone felt it was rather inappropriate for Madelyn to be listening in on this.
However, Sebastian didnโt shy away at all, and Madelyn had no intention of hiding either, so everyone else simply had to engage openly in conversation.
At that point, they finally began discussing the affairs of Rodunst.
โMr. Lockhart, Iโd like to accompany you on this business trip to Rodunst. After all, I used to live there for a few years, so Iโm quite familiar with the local customs and sentimentsโฆโ
โMr. Lockhartโฆโ
Everyone was taking turns to speak.
From their conversation, it became increasingly clear that this business trip to Rodunst was the same one during which Sebastian had an incident in his previous life.
As Madelyn listened, her brows furrowed tightly in distress.
After approximately another half hour of conversation, Sebastian finally stood up. In a generous tone, he announced, โTodayโs meeting has come to an end.โ
Everyone then stood up, gave a slight nod, and took their leave.
โSebastian.โ Harriet approached Sebastian at that moment as if she had something to say.
โWhatโs wrong?โ Sebastian glanced at her.
โItโs nothing really, I was just about toโฆโ Harriet was about to speak when Madelyn made her way over.
Suddenly, Harriet found herself at a loss for words, her expression cold. โItโs nothing, just get some rest.โ
After saying her piece, Harriet turned around and left.
At that moment, Madelyn lifted her face. She stared at Sebastian and asked, โAre you done with your work?โ
Sebastian responded nonchalantly, โYes, Iโm done.โ
โThatโs good, letโs head home then.โ
Chapter 161 Sleeping Together
Sebastian wondered what was going on. Why was Madelyn so fickle today; had she experienced some sort of shock?
With that thought in mind, Sebastian grew somewhat anxious. In a soft voice, he asked, โWhatโs wrong? Are you not happy?โ
โNo.โ Madelyn shook her head in despair.
In fact, she was merely recalling the discussions about going abroad that everyone had at the meeting today.
It was clear that everyone wanted to contribute their part.
How was Madelyn supposed to obstruct them, to warn them of the impending danger and dissuade them from going!
She quietly pondered about it all the way until she reached her front door. Madelyn couldnโt make sense of her thoughts, so she simply chose to say nothing.
Upon returning to his room, Sebastian went straight to take a shower.
Madelyn gazed at the semi-transparent bathroom, where a slender figure was taking a shower. She racked her brains, wondering how on earth she could stop him.
In the end, after Sebastian had finished his bath and dried his hair, he too returned to bed to sleep.
The bed, originally incredibly spacious, suddenly seemed crowded with the addition of a robust figure with well-defined lines.
Likely fresh from a bath, Sebastian exuded a pleasant scent of shower gel.
As Madelyn inhaled the scent, she found herself entranced. Suddenly, she moved softly, wrapping her arms around his firm waist.
Sebastian stiffened, then he felt Madelyn casually rubbing against him, much like a soft little kitten seeking warmth from its owner.
And so, he reached out, effortlessly pulling the soft little kitten tightly into his embrace.
โGo to sleep now.โ
He whispered sweet nothings in her ear with his deep voice, almost hypnotic in nature. Madelyn squinted her eyes, gradually succumbing to sleep in a daze.
Seeing that she had fallen asleep, Sebastian also turned off the light and held her as he drifted off to sleep.
In the middle of the night.
Suddenly, Madelyn felt a wave of heat wash over her. Her eyes were darting around restlessly, and she found herself muttering incoherently.
She had a nightmare.
In her dream, she was unsure of her whereabouts, only aware that the ground was entirely covered in blood.
Several people fell to the ground, drained of strength. Perhaps it was a hit to the head, or maybe somewhere else on the body, but a single blow had been fatal. And just like that, they died abruptly under the sun.
Madelyn stood helplessly in the middle, blood pooled around her feet. She had no idea where to go.
Suddenly, at that moment, she spotted Sebastian. He was lying weakly in a pool of blood, barely hanging onto life.
At that moment, an indistinguishable figure emerged, brandishing a gun. Shockingly, he aimed it directly at Sebastianโs head.
Bang!
