Reborn to My Engagement Night

Chapter 162 Step Away From Me

โ€œSebastian!โ€ Madelyn shrieked in terror, abruptly jolting awake from her dream.

Sebastian was jolted awake by the piercing scream. He immediately switched on the light, only to find Madelyn in a state of shock.

A fine sheen of sweat coated her forehead, her breathing becoming increasingly labored in sync with her racing heartbeat. She looked as if she had just narrowly escaped death in a dream.

Seeing her condition, Sebastian quickly patted her back. โ€œDid you have a nightmare?โ€

Tears welled up in Madelynโ€™s eyes as she suddenly lunged forward, throwing herself into Sebastianโ€™s arms, holding him tightly.

โ€œSebastian, can you promise me not to go on the business trip? Iโ€™m begging you, can you please not go?โ€

โ€œWhat happened?โ€ Sebastian gently soothed as he patiently inquired.

Madelyn, shivering, confessed, โ€œI had a dream earlier. You were on a business trip and got ambushed. Many people died, and you were covered in blood. Sebastian, Iโ€™m genuinely worried about you. Can you please not go on the business trip?โ€

As Madelyn spoke, a hint of a sob crept into her voice. It seemed like she was on the verge of tears, overwhelmed by a sense of grievance.

Sebastianโ€™s heart ached as he watched her, unable to resist gently holding her frail body, patiently comforting her. โ€œDonโ€™t worry, didnโ€™t you say this is just a dream? Besides, dreams are often the opposite of reality, nothing will happen to me.โ€

However, Madelyn, upon hearing those words, was resolute in her refusal to comply. She mumbled, โ€œJust donโ€™t goโ€ฆโ€

She was genuinely worried as most of the events from her past life had reoccurred in this one.

Holding Sebastian tightly, Madelyn couldnโ€™t help but whine, โ€œWill you just agree not to go, please? Iโ€™m really worried about you. What if something happens to you, how am I supposed to live?โ€

Upon hearing her gentle and tender voice, Sebastianโ€™s heart warmed.

However, visiting Rodunst was a must. The matter at hand pertained to the significant influence the Lockhart family held abroad. If it was left unattended, the loss would be substantial.

As a businessman, Sebastian refused to tolerate such mistakes.

Yet, upon seeing how delicate and adorable Madelyn was, Sebastian couldnโ€™t bring himself to refuse. He could only verbally agree, saying, โ€œMhm, mhm, youโ€™re right, I wonโ€™t go.โ€

Madelyn could immediately tell from his tonality that he was being insincere.

She immediately pouted her delicate lips, upset. โ€œHmph, youโ€™re lying!โ€

Without waiting for Sebastianโ€™s response, Madelyn swiftly bent her head down and hit Sebastianโ€™s cheek.

Chapter 162 Step Away From Me

Madelynโ€™s face turned a shade of red, clearly feeling it, but she still clung onto his waist without letting go.

Sebastianโ€™s face paled as he said in a calm manner. โ€œGet off me.โ€

Madelyn tilted her head. โ€œNo.โ€

โ€œReally now?โ€ Sebastian looked at her menacingly.

A certain area of his was starting to lose control, yet she was still trying to fan the flames.

Unexpectedly, Madelyn still had a smug look on her face. โ€œSo what if I donโ€™t? What can you do about it?โ€ she retorted.

โ€œReally?โ€ Sebastian chuckled playfully. He leaned in, his breath tickling her ear as he teased, โ€œI can eat you up.โ€

No sooner had the words fallen than a surge of strength enveloped the petite figure in his arms, flipping her over. His towering frame immediately pinned her underneath him.

This suggestive pose immediately sparked Madelynโ€™s regret.

Her face was flushed all the way to the tips of her ears as she pleaded pitifully, โ€œSebastian, I was wrongโ€ฆโ€

Sebastian gave a nonchalant smirk. โ€œToo late.โ€

Following that, in a swift, almost effortless motion, Madelynโ€™s pajamas were unceremoniously tossed off the bed.

Following closely behind, two pitiful pieces of intimate clothing were also tossed off.

In just a short while, he began to move under the covers.

That night, sparks flew uncontrollably, as if the heavens were clashing with the earth, creating an unstoppable force.

After what felt like hours of turmoil, as the sky began to brighten with the first light of dawn, Madelyn finally succumbed to exhaustion. Her body went limp, and she was at last left alone. Then, she fell into a deep sleep.

When she woke up again, it was already noon and Sebastian was nowhere to be found.

After asking Lydia, Madelyn found out that Sebastian had gone to the office early in the morning. What a headache.

Having no other choice, she tidied up and rushed off to school.

After arriving at school, she once again ran into Janessa.

Ever since Agnesโ€˜ birthday party, Madelyn hadnโ€™t seen Janessa again.

Now that they had met, Madelyn couldnโ€™t help but be reminded of the incident whereby Janessa had pretended to fall into the water.

Chapter 167 Step Away from 16

Janessa was somewhat taken aback. She hadnโ€™t expected Madelyn to wholly rate the initiative to make amends with her.

Immediately, she put on the pretense of a caring/worry. Madelyn knows is posing me into the water that day was purely series will sex free fuse your wordett e this incidentโ€

Upon hearing those words, Madelyn feigned s grade on Why thould Be there are the one whos

I fell into the water. If youโ€™re not bothered, then fyn wo

โ€œOf course, Iโ€™m not bothered,โ€ Janessa responded with a friendly smile. Yet, she was thinking to herself, โ€œDonโ€™t get too cocky, Madelyn. Iโ€™ll make sure to pay back each and every one of these grudges.โ€

Following that, Janessa suddenly seized the opportunity and asked, โ€œBy the way, Madelyn, Christopher hasnโ€™t fully recovered from his accident at this time. Should we go visit him together?โ€

What?

Suddenly, Madelyn found it amusing. She had almost forgotten about Christopherโ€™s existence.

However, after giving it some thought, she figured that even if Christopher had died, it didnโ€™t have to do with her. So why should she go?

Hence, Madelyn simply made up an excuse. โ€œIโ€™m really sorry, Janessa, I have something to do this afternoon, I canโ€™t make it.โ€

โ€œButโ€ฆโ€ Janessa was about to say some more when Madelyn cut her off. โ€œEnough with the buts, class is about to start, letโ€™s head to class.โ€

With that, they both proceeded to the class.

The afternoon was rather laid-back as it only consisted of one class.

Madelyn immediately began packing up to leave after class.

โ€œMadelyn.โ€ Jillian suddenly came up to her. โ€œMadelyn, where are you going?โ€

Madelyn replied honestly, โ€œIโ€™m heading off to the combat training center for my class.โ€

โ€œHuh? Youโ€™re taking classes on this too?โ€ Jillian was taken aback, considering it was uncommon for girls to pick up martial arts.

Madelyn cheerfully nodded in agreement. โ€œYeah, I thought Iโ€™d learn something for self-defense.โ€

Suddenly, an idea popped up and she said, โ€œOh right, Jillian, if youโ€™re interested, why donโ€™t you join us? It would be great to practice together.โ€

โ€œHuh? Me?โ€ Jillian immediately shook her head, expressing her lack of confidence. โ€œNever mind, Iโ€™m sure I wouldnโ€™t be good at it.โ€

Her response greatly displeased Madelyn. โ€œNonsense,โ€ she retorted. โ€œHow can you claim to be bad at something youโ€™ve never even tried?โ€
