Chapter 180 Do Not Make A Fuss

โ€œAlright, goodnight, Dad.โ€

After Madelyn finished speaking, she cheerfully led Sebastian downstairs, oblivious to the fact that he was lost in his thoughts.

Did Madelyn just sayโ€ฆ she wants to marry me? Could I have heard wrongโ€ฆ

Unfortunately, Madelyn didnโ€™t catch the complex expression on Sebastianโ€™s face. At that moment, all she could think of was getting home quickly and letting Sebastian rest.

He has been working overtime every day for a while now and must be really tired.

However, Sebastian was completely consumed by thoughts of marriage. The words she had spoken earlier were echoing in his mind, just like an obsessionโ€ฆ.

However, his thoughts were swiftly interrupted by a phone call.

Sebastian pulled out his phone from his pocket. On the screen, the name โ€œHarrietโ€ was flashing.

Madelyn naturally noticed it, too, and couldnโ€™t help the hint in her eyes, followed by her clearing her throat.

For a moment, the atmosphere turned somewhat awkward and eerie.

Sebastian knew that Madelyn didnโ€™t really like Harriet. In fact, one could even say she had a slight aversion toward her.

Harriet was in charge of the projects overseas. Thus, even though Sebastian could ignore her on a personal level, he couldnโ€™t avoid dealing with her for work.

So, after a moment of hesitation, he still answered the call.

Harrietโ€™s soft voice came through. โ€œSebastian, thereโ€™s been progress on the matter of the companyโ€™s system being compromised.โ€

Sebastianโ€™s brows immediately furrowed.

Glancing back at Madelyn, he quietly stepped awayโ€”considering some matters were company secretsโ€”before asking, โ€œWhat happened?โ€

At that moment, Madelyn was observing the secretive exchange between Sebastian and Harriet, feeling a great deal of irritation.

Harriet is truly insufferable!

However, even though Madelyn was upset, there was nothing she could do about it.

After all, Harrietโ€™s capabilities were truly remarkable, far beyond what Madelyn was currently capable of.

Taking the matters of the company as an example, Sebastian had been run off his feet these past few days. All these were things Madelyn simply couldnโ€™t do.

Every time Madelyn thought about these things, her heart swelled with jealousy toward Harriet.

No. I canโ€™t allow this anymore.

Suddenly, Madelyn made up her mind. She was determined to work hard and become better.

From then on, she didnโ€™t want any other women to come close to Sebastian, even if it was for work.

After hanging up the phone, Sebastian returned to Madelynโ€™s side. Acting as if nothing had happened, he opened the car door.

โ€œGet in the car. Weโ€™re heading home.โ€

Though Madelyn still minded what happened, she found herself at a loss for words and obediently climbed into the car.

In a short while, the two of them arrived at Lockhart Villa.

As Madelyn stepped inside and put on her slippers, she immediately turned to Sebastian and said, โ€œSebastian, youโ€™ve had a long day. Why donโ€™t you go take a bath and rest first? Iโ€™ll take mine after youโ€™re done.โ€

Sebastian simply nodded, then went off to wash up first.

After Sebastian had finished bathing, Madelyn stepped into the bathroom to shower.

By the time she returned to the bed, Sebastian was already sound asleep.

Heโ€™s probably exhaustedโ€ฆ Madelyn thought, feeling a pang of sympathy.

Following that, she also crawled underneath the quilt, nestling tightly in Sebastianโ€™s arms, while her cheek rested against his chest.

Listening to his strong heartbeat, Madelyn inexplicably felt at ease before falling into a deep sleep.

The following morning, at daybreak, Sebastian was abruptly awakened by the persistent ring of his phone.

In the quiet room, the sound of the mobile phone was particularly jarring.

He picked up the phone, noticing it was his assistant calling. In a sleepy voice, he asked, โ€œWhatโ€™s up?โ€

Malcolmโ€™s voice was filled with urgency. โ€œMr. Lockhart, we just received news that thereโ€™s been a slight mishap with our overseas projects. You might need to travel abroad immediately to deal with it!โ€

Upon hearing these words, Sebastian snapped to attention. โ€œWhat time are we leaving?โ€

โ€œYour flight has been booked. Ms. Moore and Mr. Gilbert will meet you at the airport in two hours,โ€ Malcolm said with utmost professionalism.

Sebastian nodded. โ€œUnderstood.โ€

At some point, Madelyn had awakened without him realizing. Upon hearing that Sebastian was about to leave, she quickly grabbed onto his clothes. โ€œWhere are you going? I want to come too!โ€

Sebastian replied candidly. โ€œIโ€™m going abroad.โ€

โ€œWhat?โ€ Madelyn was instantly taken aback, asking, โ€œDidnโ€™t you say you still had half a month last time? Why do you suddenlyโ€ฆโ€

โ€œThe situation is rather critical,โ€ Sebastian explained as he slipped on his coat.

Upon hearing this, Madelyn quickly stood up. โ€œIn that case, Iโ€™m coming along with you!โ€

Sebastian immediately stopped what he was doing.

Seeing that there was no time left to explain, he reluctantly turned back and gently patted her head, attempting to soothe her. โ€œSweetheart, this is business. Donโ€™t make a fuss.โ€

โ€œIโ€™m not joking. Iโ€™m serious,โ€ Madelyn said, looking at him earnestly.

Seeing Sebastianโ€™s serious expression, she hesitantly asked, โ€œSoโ€ฆ who else is going with you?โ€

โ€œMalcolm, Wesley, and Harriet,โ€ Sebastian replied succinctly.

โ€œOhโ€ฆโ€ Upon hearing those words, Madelyn responded in dejection.

As she watched Sebastian finish dressing, Madelyn suddenly felt a pang of sadness.

Finally, she couldnโ€™t help herself. With a pained expression, she timidly asked, โ€œSebastian, am I really not allowed to go with you?โ€

Her voice was utterly pitiful.

After Sebastian had finished dressing, he turned around to see her wearing a pitiful expression, as if she had suffered a great injustice. His heart couldnโ€™t help but soften.

Sebastian finally asked, โ€œDo you really want to go?โ€

โ€œAbsolutely!โ€ Madelyn affirmed, nodding resolutely.

Sebastian really couldnโ€™t bear to see her upset, so he eventually relented. โ€œHurry up and pack. Weโ€™re leaving soon.โ€

Upon hearing those words, Madelynโ€™s eyes widened.

Then, as if invigorated by his answer, she exclaimed, โ€œOkay! Iโ€™m on it!โ€

Two hours later, when Sebastian arrived at the airport, Wesley and Harriet were already there waiting, ready to go.

From a distance, they saw that Sebastian was not alone. Right behind him was a little sidekick. It was none other than Madelyn.

In that instant, Wesleyโ€™s face froze.

The color drained from Harrietโ€™s face as she was left utterly speechless.

The only person who reacted normally was Malcolm.

Malcolm merely froze for a moment before quickly regaining his composure.

Technically speaking, Malcolm had already become accustomed to such a sight.

After all, having spent a considerable amount of time with Sebastian, he had come to understand the peculiarities of his wife.

Her unpredictable actions were so frequent that he was no longer surprised by them.
