Chapter 184 The Woman He Cared About The Most
Madelyn chuckled. โWell, Iโm here to buy one now!โ
In reality, the phrase โbuying cigarettesโ was merely a secret code. The item Madelyn intended to purchase was something entirely different.
Just as expected, the shopkeeper immediately approached her and asked, โWhat model are you interested in, miss?โ
โDesert Eagle Mark VII,โ Madelyn stated emotionlessly, โBut I want it in .50 AE cartridge. Also, replace the 6-inch with a 10-inch. The scope must be rail-mounted. Moreover, the grip and magazine should be the most convenient and best of the latest models.โ
The terms she used were all industry jargon. The shopkeeper immediately recognized Madelyn as a knowledgeable insider. He asked her to wait a moment, then walked into the back room and returned with a specially crafted Desert Eagle.
Madelyn took the Desert Eagle, tested its grip, and found it quite satisfactory. She then declared, โIโll take this one.โ
The shopkeeper immediately nodded and bowed, packing her items with care.
After Madelyn finished her shopping, however, she showed no intention of leaving.
After casually browsing around the shop, she suddenly asked, โWhere is Grimo? I need to see him.โ
Upon hearing those words, the shopkeeperโs face dramatically changed.
Immediately on high alert, he asked, โWho are you?โ
The name Grimo wasnโt something everyone knew, nor was it a name that just anyone dared to mention.
Yet, the woman in front of him spoke so casually. As such, the shopkeeper couldnโt help but question Madelynโs identity.
Madelyn chuckled, fully understanding the shopkeeperโs reaction.
Indeed, Grimo was a person not commonly spoken of by the average individual. The reason outsiders did not dare to casually mention him was due to his status as a renowned arms tycoon in Rodunst. His standing within the nation was rather remarkable.
The reason Madelyn knew him was because she had dealings with him in her past life.
She wasnโt supposed to meet Grimo so soon in this life. However, now that Madelyn needed something from him, she had no choice but to break the rules and get to know him ahead of time.
Naturally, one couldnโt simply meet Grimo just like that.
Just then, the shopkeeper immediately became wary and asked, โWhat do you want to see him for?โ
Upon hearing these words, Madelyn let out a soft laugh, her tone leisurely as she said, "You donโt need to be..."
Madelyn knew that she wouldnโt get to see Grimo unless she clarified her intentions.
โI possess the information that Grimo has been tirelessly searching for, and I, in turn, need Grimoโs assistance,โ she confessed.
When Madelyn spoke these words, her demeanor was open and unflustered.
Seeing that she didnโt appear to be a liar, the shopkeeper finally relented. โAll right, Iโll pass on your message. As for whether Boss will see you or not, thatโs another matter.โ
Following that, the shopkeeper went inside, leaving two others to keep an eye on Madelyn, while he went to inform others.
Madelyn didnโt seem to mind and patiently stood there as she waited.
In a short while, the shopkeeper came back with a message. โBoss has agreed to see you, but heโs not here right now. Youโll have to come with us to another location. And before we go, weโll have to search you to ensure our safety.โ
Madelyn knew that these were the basic requirements to meet Grimo, so she had no objections.
After searching her, a few individuals escorted Madelyn and pushed her into a car.
After a journey of approximately ten minutes, Madelyn was escorted into an exclusive club, and then led to an ultra-luxurious private room.
Inside that private room, Madelyn encountered a man of mixed heritage.
The man had a pair of deep green eyes. He was just casually seated on the couch, yet his aura was akin to that of a royal noble from a palace, instilling a deep-seated respect in others, making them dare not to offend him.
He was certainly different from most other men.
A typical man would either be handsome and strong, exuding an air of masculinity, or he would be effeminate.
However, this man, with his seductive handsome features, emanated a hint of domineering arrogance in every move he made.
He was none other than Grimo himself.
โWas it you who wanted to see me?โ
At that moment, when Grimo caught sight of Madelyn, he gave her a once-over, his gaze oddly captivating and enigmatic.
Aside from this, Grimo was also accompanied by a dozen bodyguards. Each one of them had a stern countenance, appearing quite intimidating.
Yet, Madelyn showed not a shred of fear. She calmly seated herself across from Grimo, and said indifferently, โYup.โ
Madelyn nodded. โYes, I do.โ
Upon hearing this, Grimo suddenly let out a sly chuckle. โHowever, Iโm not one to make deals lightly, unless they hold value,โ he stated.
After speaking, he shot Madelyn a hostile look and said, โSince you were able to find me, you should know that you wouldnโt be walking out of here alive if your information is worthless, or if youโve deceived me.โ
โOf course.โ Madelyn nodded. Had she not known, she wouldnโt have come here rashly.
Then, she got straight to the point and said, โI wonโt beat around the bush, Grimo. I need your men to lend me a hand. As for the intelligence I haveโฆ It wasnโt a coincidence that the arsenal in Devil Pyramid was destroyed overnight, was it?โ
After Madelyn finished speaking, she casually let out a laugh.
Unexpectedly, Grimoโs face drastically changed upon hearing those words. He looked like a dormant volcano that was on the verge of eruption.
Upon observing his reaction, Madelyn was fairly certain that her gamble had paid off.
Sure enough, the very next second, Grimo sternly demanded, โHow did you come to know about this?"
At this moment, all the bodyguards had drawn their guns, uniformly aiming at Madelyn.
A cold sweat broke out on Madelynโs back. Even if she had the bravest heart, there was no way she could remain calm and composed with that many guns pointed at her.
On the surface, however, Madelyn pretended to be calm as she said, โI mean you no harm, Grimo. The real reason I came to you was to save someone. I was hoping you could help me. Moreover, if we can collaborate well, then I can be of great use to you in the future.โ
