Chapter 194: They Were Being Followed
Following that, Adelar started seeking opportunities to interact with Madelyn.
As for Madelyn, she spent a week in Rodunst leisurely with Sebastian, living as if they were on a honeymoon.
Every day, Madelyn would rise at the crack of dawn and hurry to the hotel kitchen. She would personally prepare a variety of nutritious broths for Sebastian to nurture him back to his health.
When it was time to change the bandages, Madelyn would promptly make sure Sebastian changed them, never allowing any delay.
During meal times, she would carefully select foods rich in protein and vitamins to nourish Sebastian.
Under her meticulous care, Sebastian’s wounds healed quickly.
Once his injury had healed, it was indeed time to return home.
Sebastian immediately contacted Malcolm and instructed him to book a flight for the following afternoon. He was ready to return home.
As a result, Madelyn continued to pester Sebastian, her face pouting in a coquettish manner as she whined, “Sebastian, you’ve just recovered from your illness. There’s no need to rush back home. Can’t we stay and have some more fun a little longer?”
After all the trouble she went through to travel abroad, Madelyn couldn’t stand the thought of leaving so soon.
Seeing that, Sebastian calmly reassured, “There’s still a lot of work to be done back home. If you want to have fun, we can always come again next time.”
“I don’t want to.” Madelyn was somewhat unhappy. “You keep saying ‘next time’, but you’re so busy. Who knows when that will be…”
After saying that, she remembered that Sebastian was a workaholic by nature. She had no choice but to make a concession. “How about just one day? If you accompany me to all the places I want to go tomorrow, I will obediently return home. Do we have a deal?”
Sebastian was slightly hesitant.
He couldn’t bear to refuse her, and on the other hand, she wouldn’t give up so easily if he did. Wouldn’t she end up making a scene?
Moreover, he had observed Madelyn’s actions over the past few days. Her kindness toward him didn’t seem fake.
Especially when she rolled up her sleeves, tied on an apron, and worked diligently in the kitchen to make him soup. She was so gentle and meticulous. It was clear that she genuinely wanted him to recover quickly.
Hence, Sebastian decided not to be so cold anymore and nodded in agreement. Madelyn immediately acted like she had won the lottery, clapping her hands with joy. “Great! I’ll start planning the route right away!”

The following day, Madelyn took Sebastian on a tour along the planned route just as expected.
On the way, they visited numerous attractions. Madelyn was evidently in high spirits.
Even though Sebastian maintained an expressionless face, his mood lightened under her radiant smile.
Taking into account that Sebastian had just recovered, Madelyn made sure not to overexert him during their journey. They would walk a bit, play for a while, and then rest, maintaining a leisurely pace throughout.
At that moment, the two of them were resting on a bench by the roadside again.
Madelyn took a big gulp of water. She then tossed the empty bottle into a roadside trash bin and wiped off her sweat.
Then, she took out a tissue and wiped the sweat off Sebastian’s brow.
Sebastian didn’t refuse. Breathing in her subtle, fresh scent, a barely noticeable smile of delight tugged at the corners of his mouth.
Yet in the next moment, Sebastian suddenly realized that a searing gaze was fixed intensely on the two of them!
Having navigated the business world for many years, Sebastian had amassed a fair share of adversaries in the industry. Consequently, his sensitivity to potential security threats was naturally much higher than that of an average person.
At that very moment, he could distinctly feel that they were being followed.
With this in mind, a shiver ran through Sebastian’s heart.
However, on the surface, he pretended to know nothing. He wouldn’t make a move unless the other party did.
Sitting quietly in the same spot, Sebastian observed for a while. Suddenly, he felt that the people following them might not be an enemy.
Although the other party had been watching them, he or she showed no intention of making a move. His intuition told him that this person didn’t seem to be an enemy.
Since the other party didn’t seem to harbor any ill intentions, Sebastian didn’t expose the person. However, he had a hunch that the person might be targeting Madelyn.
Just as he was contemplating about it, Madelyn suddenly stood up. “Sebastian, I need to use the restroom. Will you accompany me?”
Worried that something might happen if she went alone, Sebastian naturally agreed to accompany her.
The two of them made their way to the public restroom. Sebastian waited outside while Madelyn went in.
After entering the restroom, Madelyn was just about to look for an empty stall when a woman suddenly blocked her path. “Excuse me, are you Ms. Thornton?”

“I’m here to relay a message. Our boss mentioned he’d like to meet you,” the woman said indifferently.
Madelyn was even more confused. “Your boss? Who is that?”
“Grimo,” the woman replied.
Upon hearing that name, Madelyn was instantly reminded of Grimo’s strikingly handsome yet mysteriously enchanting face, along with his deep, arrogant emerald–green eyes.
Madelyn asked, “He wants to see me right now?”
The woman nodded as a matter of course and reassured, “Don’t worry, it won’t take up too much of your time. It will take at most half an hour. You can continue with your activities as planned after that.”
Upon hearing that, Madelyn immediately frowned, thinking to herself that this wasn’t just a matter of wasting time. Sebastian was still waiting outside. If she went out now, wouldn’t their cover be blown?
After a moment of hesitation, Madelyn finally said, “I can’t meet him right now. How about tonight? Tell your boss to wait for me at the hotel entrance tonight. I’ll choose a time to meet him.”
“All right then.” The woman reluctantly nodded before leaving.
Madelyn watched the woman’s retreating figure, wondering why Grimo would suddenly seek her out. Could something be amiss?
However, Madelyn didn’t overthink it. After using the restroom, she stepped out and affectionately held Sebastian’s hand. With a sweet smile, she said, “Let’s go. Let’s continue to have fun.”
As Sebastian allowed her to lead him along, he couldn’t help but marvel inwardly at her remarkable vitality that day.
After the pair returned to the hotel at night, they were both extremely exhausted, especially Madelyn, who had nearly expended a week’s worth of energy.
Madelyn collapsed onto the bed and said weakly, “Sebastian, you go ahead and shower first. I’ll rest for a bit.”
Sebastian nodded and then proceeded to the bathroom to freshen up.
At that moment, Madelyn suddenly remembered the woman she had encountered in the restroom that afternoon, as well as their agreement for the evening. She immediately got up from the bed.
Then, Madelyn stood up and called out to Sebastian, who was in the bathroom, “Sebastian, I’m thirsty. I’m going downstairs to buy some drinks.”
