Reborn to My Engagement Night
Chapter 195 Worth Befriending
After informing him, Madelyn went downstairs. As soon as she stepped out of the hotel, she saw a car parked about ten meters away. The carโs hazard lights were flashing, and someone peeked their head out.
"Over here!"
Upon recognizing that the man was Adelar, Madelyn walked over briskly. She opened the car door and sat inside.
โYouโre here.โ The carโs interior was dark, but Madelyn recognized Grimo through his voice.
โDo you need something from me?" Madelyn decided to get straight to the point because she didnโt want to be gone too long after telling Sebastian she was just going to buy a drink.
Upon hearing that, a mischievous smile played at the corners of Grimoโs lips. โIndeed, there is something I need from you.โ
โWhat is it? Just spit it out.โ Madelynโs voice was rather stern.
Grimo thought to himself that Madelyn really had some nerve. There were very few people in the world who would speak to him so bluntly.
However, Grimo didnโt make a fuss about it. He just replied, โViolet has run off, and we canโt find any information about her now. Do you have any intel that can help us track her down?โ
To Grimoโs surprise, Madelyn couldnโt help but find it amusing when she heard that. โDear, Violet is your subordinate, but she managed to escape right under your watch? And now youโre asking me where she has gone? Who should I be asking then?โ
She was implying that she couldnโt possibly know Violetโs whereabouts.
Yet, Grimo refused to believe it, countering, โYou managed to impersonate Morgana, so youโre clearly no ordinary individual. Your skills must be impressive too. Even though I donโt know who you truly are, weโve done business before. You and I can be considered partners. Why not strike another deal with me?โ
The moment Grimo said that, Madelyn immediately understood. After all that talk, was he trying to uncover her identity by using Violetโs disappearance?
Realizing this, Madelyn couldnโt help but laugh. With an apologetic tone, she said, โGrimo, please donโt mistake me for someone with extraordinary powers. You must have already investigated my background, right? As you found out, I, Madelyn, am just an ordinary rich girl, nothing more.โ
โOh?โ Grimo was clearly skeptical of her words. He wondered how it was possible for her to know that the instigator behind the arson of the arsenal was Violet if she claimed to have no identity.
โAll right thenโฆโ Madelyn rolled her eyes, thinking to herself how incredibly paranoid Grimo was. So, she simply said, โIf you truly believe thereโs something different about me, just think that I have some sort of special ability.โ
โWhat?โ Grimo was utterly bewildered.

Grimo, completely clueless, shook his head. He had no idea what she was talking about.
However, Madelyn explained seriously, โSpecial abilities refer to certain capabilities that are hard to articulate and define. Theyโre difficult to explain, but these abilities are exceptionally fantastical and entirely beyond the realm of science. These abilities are innate.โ
โSo, youโre saying that you knew Violet was the culprit simply because you have special abilities?โ Grimo finally seemed to grasp Madelynโs point.
Madelyn instantly snapped her fingers. โYouโre smart!โ
Suddenly, Grimo became agitated. โAre you f*cking with me? Where on earth would such a thing exist? Do you think youโre the protagonist of a mythical novel?โ
This sudden outburst of anger truly startled Madelyn.
At that moment, Madelyn became furious too. โFine, believe it or not, Iโve told you everything! Besides, this special ability is only incredibly effective at times. I canโt just use it whenever I want to. I really donโt know where Violet is, but I believe youโll find her if youโre willing to look for her.โ
Madelynโs patience was wearing thin. โI canโt continue this conversation any longer. I have other matters to attend to. Goodbye.โ
As soon as she finished speaking, Madelyn stepped out of the car. She then slammed the car door shut forcefully. Her slender figure disappeared into the distance.
At that moment, Adelar, who was seated in front, quickly asked, โBoss, do you need me to stop her?โ
Although Grimo was infuriated and was silently cursing her as a lunatic, he rationally waved his hand and said, โDonโt stop her.โ
Recalling her words, Grimo still found it hard to believe her. However, upon careful consideration, there seemed to be no other explanation for her identity if things werenโt as she said.
Suddenly, Grimo said, โWait! Catch up with her and give her my contact information. Let her know that if she needs anything in the future, we can continue to collaborate.โ
โYes.โ Adelar nodded.
At that moment, Madelyn was drenched in cold sweat. She had just brazenly spun a tale in front of the formidable Grimo. Although she appeared calm and composed, she was extremely terrified on the inside.
However, after a moment, she thought that what she had said wasnโt entirely implausible. After all, there were truly some metahumans in the world.
A reincarnating scenario that would usually only happen in novels had happened to her. If something like that could happen, what else was impossible?
Just as she was deep in thought, Adelar suddenly caught up with her and gave her a light pat on the back. โMs. Thornton.โ
Madelyn instantly felt a chill run through her body. She turned to look at Adelar, inquiring, โWhatโs wrong?โ
Madelyn hesitated before accepting the business card. Eventually, she expressed her gratitude, saying, "Please convey my gratitude to him. If thereโs another chance, I look forward to working together again.โ
โAll right.โ Adelar then turned around and went back.
As Madelyn stared at the business card in her hand, she couldnโt help but think to herself that Grimo seemed to be someone worth befriending.
Then, Madelyn turned around and ascended the stairs.
Sebastian had already freshened up at that moment. He was only wearing a robe, his wellโbuilt chest partly exposed with a few glistening droplets of water still clinging to it.
Glancing at the several bottles of mineral water in Madelynโs hand, Sebastian couldnโt help but slightly furrow his brows. As he casually wiped his hair, he asked in a seemingly indifferent tone, โWhat took you so long?โ
Madelyn bit her lip in frustration before finally saying, โI got a bit lost when I went out earlier, so I wandered around for a whileโฆโ
โOh,โ Sebastian responded, then casually added, โYouโve had a long day too. You should go take a shower.โ
Madelyn obediently nodded and went into the bathroom.
Before long, the sound of the shower echoed from inside, bringing Sebastian a great deal of relief.
Just then, Sebastianโs phone buzzed. He pulled it out and saw it was a new message.
