Ever since her return from the black market, Madelyn had been much more obedient in the days that followed.

During the day, she attended classes at campus and rehearsed for the stage play with Josiah, Tristan, and Jillian. Their good relationship made rehearsals stress-free and enjoyable.

After rehearsals, as agreed, Madelyn went to Lockhart Group to learn about company management from Malcolm. Occasionally, she playfully teased Sebastian in his office and quickly ran out happily.

Later in the evening, when she returned home, Madelyn found her father still sitting on the living room couch watching TV. She obediently approached and chatted with him.

“Madelyn, I heard from Sebastian that you’ve been studying company management recently and doing very well. Good job,” Derek said kindly.

He had initially thought his precious daughter was just whimsically deciding to study company management and wouldn’t take it seriously. But to his surprise, she was truly committed.

“It’s not hard at all. I’m not working as hard as you, Dad. You’ve been supporting this family all by yourself for so many years; that’s real hard work. I just want to learn something useful so I can help you out in the future,” Madelyn giggled.

Derek felt even more reassured and quickly gave an order, “Someone, go make some nourishing soup for Madelyn to replenish her strength.”

Madelyn was delighted and hugged her father. “Dad, you’ve been both parents to me, and that must have—”
