Chapter 337: I Will Not Let You Off

“No? Was I blind then?” Phantom chuckled, a chilling sound. “Since you’re so fond of crippling others’ hands, why not start with your own?”

With that, Phantom turned, his expression impassive. I didn’t want the next scene to sully his eyes.

“Ah!” Hayden’s agonized scream, following the sound of a bone snapping, sent chills down everyone’s spine. Seeing his arm twisted and dangling uncontrollably, he was terrified, crying and screaming, completely losing his composure. Madelyn’s heart skipped a beat. She never imagined things would turn out this way. She couldn’t help but admire Phantom; he was truly ruthless!

Finding Hayden too noisy, Phantom promptly led his subordinates away, taking Madelyn with him. Half an hour later, they were in a bar, also one of the Oceanic Empire’s secret bases. After Madelyn changed clothes and tended to her wounds, Phantom invited her to a private room.

Seated on the couch, Madelyn sipped her drink, casting a puzzled glance at Phantom. “How did you know I was in danger? You even rescued me. Surely, this isn’t just a coincidence?”

Phantom chuckled. “You’re right. It truly is a coincidence.”

Madelyn was dumbfounded. “Actually, Ms. Morgana has been wanting to see you these past few days, so she sent me to find you. We didn’t expect you to be missing.” He grinned mischievously. “Speaking of that, don’t you owe me a favor? If I hadn’t arrived in time, your hand would have been ruined.”

Madelyn nodded. Phantom was right; if he hadn’t arrived, she would have been the one with the broken arm.

Wait a minute! Suddenly, Madelyn exclaimed, “Did you just say Morgana is going to see me in a couple of days?”

Madelyn was dumbfounded. Although she knew Morgana wanted to meet her, she didn’t expect it so swiftly! She was totally unprepared. She asked in a soft, timid voice, “Phantom, can you speak to Morgana for me? Could we postpone it? I’m not quite ready yet.”

Phantom cackled. “Of course, if that’s how much you yearn for death.”

“F*ck!” Madelyn was immediately annoyed. How could someone be so forceful? This was completely unreasonable. Phantom was amused, thinking Madelyn was probably the only woman who dared to curse him.

“So, is Morgana here?”

“How could that be?” Phantom scoffed. “Do you think you’re important enough for Ms. Morgana to meet you personally?”

“All right, you have a point,” Madelyn pursed her lips. “When is she coming?”

“You!” Phantom was nearly driven to madness. If this were any ordinary woman, he would have had her killed. But she wasn’t ordinary. Suppressing his anger, he said, “What I mean is, you need to come with me overseas to meet Ms. Morgana.”

“Huh?” Madelyn was surprised.

“What, wasn’t I clear enough?” Phantom’s patience was wearing thin.

“No, no,” Madelyn hastily waved her hands, pulling out her phone. “Going abroad is fine, but I need to inform my family first. Otherwise, they’ll worry.”

Before she could call, Phantom snatched her phone. “Keep in touch with your family? Are you trying to reveal your whereabouts?”

“I- I’m not… I just wanted to let them know I’m safe.” Madelyn looked at him innocently.

Phantom scoffed coldly. “Let me tell you, you are safer if you don’t tell anyone where you are. If you reveal even a hint of your location, Morgana won’t let you off. When the time comes, not only will I be unable to save you, but your family might also be dragged into this mess.”

What? Madelyn was stunned, then angry. “Are you guys really resorting to threats? Doesn’t Morgana want to meet me? Where’s the sincerity in that?”

Phantom laughed. “Sincerity? You had the audacity to impersonate Ms. Morgana. Not killing you is already the greatest act of sincerity.”

“I…” Madelyn was speechless. Phantom handed her phone to a subordinate. “For your safety, your phone will be kept here until we return. You can stop thinking about calling anyone now.”

Madelyn could only look at the phone reluctantly. It seemed she had to go abroad.

Meanwhile, Sebastian and Josiah arrived at the abandoned log factory to find a complete mess. There was no sign of Madelyn, only Hayden rolling on the ground, clutching his injured hand, in too much pain to stand. Josiah was livid. He grabbed Hayden’s arm. “Where’s Madelyn?”

“Ah! It hurts…” Tears welled up in Hayden’s eyes. He pleaded, “Josiah, please, take me to the hospital! My hand is going to break!”

Josiah glanced at his hand coldly. “In your dreams!” Sebastian stepped forward, his cold face and oppressive aura even more terrifying than Josiah’s. This reminded Hayden of Phantom, making his hair stand on end. He begged, “Please don’t hit me!”

Sebastian remained indifferent. “Where is Madelyn?”

Hayden trembled. “I… I don’t know! I don’t have her…”

“Wasn’t she kidnapped by you? If she’s not with you, then where could she be?” Sebastian’s face grew colder.

“I really had no idea. She just ran off…” Hayden was on the verge of tears. He didn’t even know who those men were. How could he know where Madelyn had gone? For a moment, Hayden clutched his arm, unable to speak coherently.

Josiah’s fury intensified. He grabbed Hayden by the collar. “There’s so many of you, and you let Madelyn escape? Who do you think you’re fooling? Tell the truth, now!”

“Josiah, look at the state I’m in! How could I possibly dare to deceive you?” Hayden lamented helplessly. “At the start, Madelyn was indeed here. However, out of the blue, a group of men in black appeared. They injured all of us and took Madelyn away…”
