Chapter 337: I Will Not Let You Off

โ€œNo? Was I blind then?โ€ Phantom chuckled, a chilling sound. โ€œSince youโ€™re so fond of crippling othersโ€™ hands, why not start with your own?โ€

With that, Phantom turned, his expression impassive. I didnโ€™t want the next scene to sully his eyes.

โ€œAh!โ€ Haydenโ€™s agonized scream, following the sound of a bone snapping, sent chills down everyoneโ€™s spine. Seeing his arm twisted and dangling uncontrollably, he was terrified, crying and screaming, completely losing his composure. Madelynโ€™s heart skipped a beat. She never imagined things would turn out this way. She couldnโ€™t help but admire Phantom; he was truly ruthless!

Finding Hayden too noisy, Phantom promptly led his subordinates away, taking Madelyn with him. Half an hour later, they were in a bar, also one of the Oceanic Empireโ€™s secret bases. After Madelyn changed clothes and tended to her wounds, Phantom invited her to a private room.

Seated on the couch, Madelyn sipped her drink, casting a puzzled glance at Phantom. โ€œHow did you know I was in danger? You even rescued me. Surely, this isnโ€™t just a coincidence?โ€

Phantom chuckled. โ€œYouโ€™re right. It truly is a coincidence.โ€

Madelyn was dumbfounded. โ€œActually, Ms. Morgana has been wanting to see you these past few days, so she sent me to find you. We didnโ€™t expect you to be missing.โ€ He grinned mischievously. โ€œSpeaking of that, donโ€™t you owe me a favor? If I hadnโ€™t arrived in time, your hand would have been ruined.โ€

Madelyn nodded. Phantom was right; if he hadnโ€™t arrived, she would have been the one with the broken arm.

Wait a minute! Suddenly, Madelyn exclaimed, โ€œDid you just say Morgana is going to see me in a couple of days?โ€

Madelyn was dumbfounded. Although she knew Morgana wanted to meet her, she didnโ€™t expect it so swiftly! She was totally unprepared. She asked in a soft, timid voice, โ€œPhantom, can you speak to Morgana for me? Could we postpone it? Iโ€™m not quite ready yet.โ€

Phantom cackled. โ€œOf course, if thatโ€™s how much you yearn for death.โ€

โ€œF*ck!โ€ Madelyn was immediately annoyed. How could someone be so forceful? This was completely unreasonable. Phantom was amused, thinking Madelyn was probably the only woman who dared to curse him.

โ€œSo, is Morgana here?โ€

โ€œHow could that be?โ€ Phantom scoffed. โ€œDo you think youโ€™re important enough for Ms. Morgana to meet you personally?โ€

โ€œAll right, you have a point,โ€ Madelyn pursed her lips. โ€œWhen is she coming?โ€

โ€œYou!โ€ Phantom was nearly driven to madness. If this were any ordinary woman, he would have had her killed. But she wasnโ€™t ordinary. Suppressing his anger, he said, โ€œWhat I mean is, you need to come with me overseas to meet Ms. Morgana.โ€

โ€œHuh?โ€ Madelyn was surprised.

โ€œWhat, wasnโ€™t I clear enough?โ€ Phantomโ€™s patience was wearing thin.

โ€œNo, no,โ€ Madelyn hastily waved her hands, pulling out her phone. โ€œGoing abroad is fine, but I need to inform my family first. Otherwise, theyโ€™ll worry.โ€

Before she could call, Phantom snatched her phone. โ€œKeep in touch with your family? Are you trying to reveal your whereabouts?โ€

โ€œI- Iโ€™m notโ€ฆ I just wanted to let them know Iโ€™m safe.โ€ Madelyn looked at him innocently.

Phantom scoffed coldly. โ€œLet me tell you, you are safer if you donโ€™t tell anyone where you are. If you reveal even a hint of your location, Morgana wonโ€™t let you off. When the time comes, not only will I be unable to save you, but your family might also be dragged into this mess.โ€

What? Madelyn was stunned, then angry. โ€œAre you guys really resorting to threats? Doesnโ€™t Morgana want to meet me? Whereโ€™s the sincerity in that?โ€

Phantom laughed. โ€œSincerity? You had the audacity to impersonate Ms. Morgana. Not killing you is already the greatest act of sincerity.โ€

โ€œIโ€ฆโ€ Madelyn was speechless. Phantom handed her phone to a subordinate. โ€œFor your safety, your phone will be kept here until we return. You can stop thinking about calling anyone now.โ€

Madelyn could only look at the phone reluctantly. It seemed she had to go abroad.

Meanwhile, Sebastian and Josiah arrived at the abandoned log factory to find a complete mess. There was no sign of Madelyn, only Hayden rolling on the ground, clutching his injured hand, in too much pain to stand. Josiah was livid. He grabbed Haydenโ€™s arm. โ€œWhereโ€™s Madelyn?โ€

โ€œAh! It hurtsโ€ฆโ€ Tears welled up in Haydenโ€™s eyes. He pleaded, โ€œJosiah, please, take me to the hospital! My hand is going to break!โ€

Josiah glanced at his hand coldly. โ€œIn your dreams!โ€ Sebastian stepped forward, his cold face and oppressive aura even more terrifying than Josiahโ€™s. This reminded Hayden of Phantom, making his hair stand on end. He begged, โ€œPlease donโ€™t hit me!โ€

Sebastian remained indifferent. โ€œWhere is Madelyn?โ€

Hayden trembled. โ€œIโ€ฆ I donโ€™t know! I donโ€™t have herโ€ฆโ€

โ€œWasnโ€™t she kidnapped by you? If sheโ€™s not with you, then where could she be?โ€ Sebastianโ€™s face grew colder.

โ€œI really had no idea. She just ran offโ€ฆโ€ Hayden was on the verge of tears. He didnโ€™t even know who those men were. How could he know where Madelyn had gone? For a moment, Hayden clutched his arm, unable to speak coherently.

Josiahโ€™s fury intensified. He grabbed Hayden by the collar. โ€œThereโ€™s so many of you, and you let Madelyn escape? Who do you think youโ€™re fooling? Tell the truth, now!โ€

โ€œJosiah, look at the state Iโ€™m in! How could I possibly dare to deceive you?โ€ Hayden lamented helplessly. โ€œAt the start, Madelyn was indeed here. However, out of the blue, a group of men in black appeared. They injured all of us and took Madelyn awayโ€ฆโ€
