Chapter 339: She Is Not Even Your Woman

โ€œMalcolm.โ€

โ€œYes.โ€

Upon arriving at the company, Sebastian immediately summoned Malcolm. He then issued an order: โ€œThereโ€™s a traitor in Harrietโ€™s secret team. We canโ€™t use them. You need to bring your people. All work is on hold. We need to find Mrs. Lockhart first.โ€

Sebastianโ€™s mind was consumed by thoughts of Malelyn. Finding her was his sole focus.

โ€œYes,โ€ Malcolm replied, complying instantly.

Wesley, observing from the side, declared with fervor, โ€œSebastian, let me help!โ€

โ€œYou?โ€ Sebastianโ€™s gaze, filled with doubt, questioned Wesleyโ€™s offer.

โ€œExactly, more hands are better,โ€ Wesley chuckled.

Sebastian coldly snorted, โ€œNo, you donโ€™t have to.โ€

โ€œWhy?โ€ Wesley asked, confused. Heโ€™d hoped to reconcile with his brother, Sebastian, believing their disagreement was trivial.

However, it was clear Sebastianโ€™s trust in Wesley had eroded. Despite Wesleyโ€™s loyalty, his past actions against Madelyn had damaged their relationship. Madelynโ€™s disappearance was indirectly linked to him; his involvement risked further complications.

โ€œAll right then,โ€ Wesley reluctantly nodded, a sense of helplessness settling in his heart. He knew Sebastian harbored doubts. For a moment, he remained silent.

Meanwhile, at the hospitalโ€ฆ

Josiah, considering Hayden family, had brought him there after questioning him. However, the doctor delivered regrettable news: Haydenโ€™s hand was brutally broken. Even with meticulous care, only feeling might be restored.

At this point, most of the Blume family had arrivedโ€”Haydenโ€™s parents, relatives, and Felix.

Hayden, the familyโ€™s sole military success, had suffered a major incident, filling the family with anxiety. After examining Haydenโ€™s injuries, his father (Josiahโ€™s uncle) angrily scolded Josiah: โ€œYouโ€™re brothers! How could you be so heartless? You didnโ€™t help him, and let him suffer such severe injuries?โ€

Josiah, deeply worried about Madelyn, was already in a foul mood. His uncleโ€™s blame ignited his anger. He bellowed, โ€œLet me tell you, Iโ€™m being generous by sparing Haydenโ€™s life! If he werenโ€™t family, I would have killed him long ago!โ€

The Blume family was shocked by Josiahโ€™s bluntness. Benedict warned, โ€œJosiah, mind your words.โ€ Mason and Xander subtly reminded him of his familyโ€™s presence.

Josiah, unfazed, yelled, โ€œDonโ€™t tell me what to do! Haydenโ€™s predicament is entirely his own fault! If he hadnโ€™t committed those despicable acts, none of this, including Madelynโ€™s disappearance, would have happened!โ€

The mention of Madelynโ€™s disappearance always fueled Josiahโ€™s rage towards Hayden. Felix, having pieced together some clues, angrily demanded, โ€œJosiah, what happened?โ€

With a cold chuckle, Josiah explained, โ€œAt Grandpaโ€™s last birthday party, Hayden was outperformed by Madelyn and L. Heโ€™s held a grudge ever since. This afternoon, he kidnapped Madelyn, threatened to break her hand! He lost his own hand, and Madelyn vanished. Grandpa, am I to blame?โ€

Josiahโ€™s anger escalated with each word. The onlookers began to view Hayden with disdain. Josiahโ€™s family favored Madelyn. Felix was livid. Haydenโ€™s disgraceful actions as a soldier, aside from Madelynโ€™s disappearance, were infuriating. Heโ€™d shamed the family and lost an armโ€”his military career was ruined. Simply put, his future was hopeless.

Haydenโ€™s parents were stunned. Completely disappointed, Felix gave up on Hayden. His character and military career were destroyed. Felix left, shaking his head. Josiah, equally dismissive, left as well.

Leaving the hospital, Josiah anxiously asked Mason, Xander, and Benedict, โ€œDad, Mason, Xander, how can we find Madelyn?โ€

His worry was evident. Mason teased, โ€œWhy so worried? Sheโ€™s engaged. Her fiancรฉ will handle it.โ€

Xander chided, โ€œExactly. Mr. Lockhart is far more capable. Why worry? Sheโ€™s not even your woman.โ€

Josiah retorted, โ€œOf course, sheโ€™s not my woman, but sheโ€™s my friend! I canโ€™t just stand by.โ€

The brothers were speechless, turning to their father, Benedict. He helplessly shook his head, โ€œDo you think I donโ€™t want to help? Weโ€™re a military family; mobilizing personnel is easy, but investigating someoneโ€™s whereabouts isn't our specialty.โ€ In short, he couldnโ€™t help.

Seeing their helplessness, Josiah sighed, his request proving futile. He could only pray for Madelynโ€™s safety. If anything happened to her, Josiah would be devastated.
