Flight Chapter 93: Beating You Too

"It's Jillian! She's in trouble!"

Madelynโ€™s heart sank, and she immediately ran toward the source of the worry.

Arriving at Jillianโ€™s door, she indeed heard cries from inside.

Fiona was clutching their legs, pleading desperately, โ€œPlease, just give us a few more days!โ€

The thugs, however, heartlessly kicked her away.

โ€œBitch, youโ€™ve said that countless times already. Today, either you pay up or your daughter comes with us! Itโ€™s up to you!โ€

With that, they roughly grabbed Jillian by her hair. โ€œGet up!โ€

Jillian winced in pain and tried to resist. โ€œLet go.โ€

In response, one of the thugs slapped her hard, causing blood to trickle from her mouth.

Seeing this, Fiona cried out loudly, โ€œNo, donโ€™t hurt my daughter! Please, beat me up instead!โ€

Meanwhile, Madelyn hid near the door, feeling distressed but not daring to intervene. With her strength alone, she simply couldnโ€™t hold her own against those thugs.

Thinking quickly, Madelyn scanned the surroundings, but to her surprise, there was no one nearby. Even the neighbors just peeked out their windows briefly before shutting them tight, indifferent to the situation. Clearly, no one wanted to get involved in this matter.

Madelyn felt angry at the apathy of the people here. How could they be so cold-hearted?

Just then, an elderly woman passing by with a basket of vegetables shook her head helplessly.

โ€œMiss, youโ€™d better not get involved in this.โ€

โ€œWhy?โ€ Madelyn asked, puzzled.

The old woman sighed. โ€œWeโ€™re used to this sort of thing around here. Whoever intervenes usually ends up in trouble. You should go back.โ€

After speaking, the elderly lady shook her head and walked away helplessly.

Understanding dawned on Madelyn. It seemed that people in this neighborhood were accustomed to such incidents, and perhaps many had been bullied themselves. So, they would opt to keep their distance and watch with detached interest, fearful of inviting trouble.

โ€œStop it! Leave her alone!โ€

Madelyn stood in the doorway, shouting angrily, causing the thugs to pause.

Seeing Madelyn arrive, Jillian panicked. โ€œMadelyn, why are you here? Please, just go!โ€

How could Madelyn abandon her friend? She wouldnโ€™t leave.

The thugs eyed Madelyn up and down, noticing her unfamiliarity and decent attire.

โ€œWho are you?โ€ one of them yelled.

Madelyn looked at them calmly and replied, โ€œIโ€™m Jillianโ€™s friend.โ€

โ€œAnd who are you people? Youโ€™re causing trouble in someone elseโ€™s home in broad daylight. Arenโ€™t you afraid of getting caught?โ€ Madelyn retorted sarcastically.

The thug sneered, โ€œWeโ€™re not afraid of getting caught. Weโ€™re here to collect a debt. Her brother owes us millions from gambling and has disappeared. Weโ€™re here for payment.โ€

Upon hearing this, Madelyn couldnโ€™t help but scoff, โ€œA bunch of grown men resorting to bullying a defenseless woman. How shameful! If you were real men, youโ€™d go after her brother!โ€

However, the thugs ignored her remarks.

One of them turned and kicked Fiona hard. โ€œI donโ€™t care. Either pay up today or we take Jillian to settle the debt. Otherwise, Iโ€™ll beat you all!โ€

Then he turned to Madelyn. โ€œAnd you, stop interfering. Or else youโ€™ll get it too!โ€

โ€œHey!โ€ Madelyn was furious. โ€œAre you disregarding the law?โ€

โ€œShut up! Want me to beat you to death?โ€ the thug threatened, swinging his club menacingly.

โ€œStop!โ€ Jillian saw this and panicked. โ€œIโ€™ll go with you, Iโ€™ll go!โ€

The thugs stopped and asked, โ€œWhat did you say?โ€

Jillian took a deep breath, despair evident in her voice, โ€œI said Iโ€™ll go with you, but donโ€™t hurt my mom and my friend.โ€

The thugs seemed satisfied upon hearing this and grunted. โ€œSmart move.โ€

โ€œSince your daughter is willing to come with us, consider this matter settled. Just make sure we never see that kid again!โ€

After saying this to Fiona, the thugs grabbed Jillian by her hair again and prepared to leave.

โ€œNo! Jillian, donโ€™t be foolish!โ€ Madelyn rushed forward and blocked Jillian.

Jillian burst into tears. โ€œMadelyn, I donโ€™t want to leave with them, but I have no choiceโ€ฆโ€

โ€œYou little brat! I warn you, mind your own business!โ€

Madelyn sneered and faced them defiantly. โ€œReally? Let me tell you, this is my business and Iโ€™m not backing down!โ€

The thugs couldnโ€™t believe she talked back. They were instantly angered. โ€œYou brat, you better listen, or weโ€™ll take you too!โ€

Madelyn smiled, but her eyes were resolute. โ€œOh yeah? Then try it!โ€

The thugs didnโ€™t expect to be challenged by a woman and immediately moved to attack.

One of them rushed forward with a raised club.

โ€œMadelyn!โ€ Fiona cried out in worry.

However, Madelyn was unfazed. She swiftly grabbed the thugโ€™s arm holding the club, using the moves her coach had taught her. She then quickly kicked him in the groin.

โ€œAh!โ€ The man doubled over in pain, losing all strength.

Madelyn took the opportunity to kick him down.

Two more thugs came at her.

Unfortunately for them, they were all show and no skill. Although they had clubs, they were just for intimidation.

Madelyn bravely fought against the four of them. Though it took some effort, she managed to kick each one in the groin and knock them to the ground.

During the fight, however, Madelyn couldnโ€™t avoid being hit on the arm with a club.

The thugs could barely stand, clutching their groins.

Madelyn held her arm and winced in pain.

Terrified, Jillian rushed to her. โ€œMadelyn, youโ€™re hurt!โ€

Madelyn brushed it off, saying, โ€œDonโ€™t worry, the police are coming. Theyโ€™ll take care of these guys soon.โ€

The thugs panicked upon hearing this. They exclaimed, โ€œShe called the police! Letโ€™s get out of here!โ€

โ€œHey brat, just you wait and see!โ€

With that, the thugs scrambled to their feet, clutching their groins, and ran away.
