Flight Chapter 93: Beating You Too
"It's Jillian! She's in trouble!"
Madelynโs heart sank, and she immediately ran toward the source of the worry.
Arriving at Jillianโs door, she indeed heard cries from inside.
Fiona was clutching their legs, pleading desperately, โPlease, just give us a few more days!โ
The thugs, however, heartlessly kicked her away.
โBitch, youโve said that countless times already. Today, either you pay up or your daughter comes with us! Itโs up to you!โ
With that, they roughly grabbed Jillian by her hair. โGet up!โ
Jillian winced in pain and tried to resist. โLet go.โ
In response, one of the thugs slapped her hard, causing blood to trickle from her mouth.
Seeing this, Fiona cried out loudly, โNo, donโt hurt my daughter! Please, beat me up instead!โ
Meanwhile, Madelyn hid near the door, feeling distressed but not daring to intervene. With her strength alone, she simply couldnโt hold her own against those thugs.
Thinking quickly, Madelyn scanned the surroundings, but to her surprise, there was no one nearby. Even the neighbors just peeked out their windows briefly before shutting them tight, indifferent to the situation. Clearly, no one wanted to get involved in this matter.
Madelyn felt angry at the apathy of the people here. How could they be so cold-hearted?
Just then, an elderly woman passing by with a basket of vegetables shook her head helplessly.
โMiss, youโd better not get involved in this.โ
โWhy?โ Madelyn asked, puzzled.
The old woman sighed. โWeโre used to this sort of thing around here. Whoever intervenes usually ends up in trouble. You should go back.โ
After speaking, the elderly lady shook her head and walked away helplessly.
Understanding dawned on Madelyn. It seemed that people in this neighborhood were accustomed to such incidents, and perhaps many had been bullied themselves. So, they would opt to keep their distance and watch with detached interest, fearful of inviting trouble.
โStop it! Leave her alone!โ
Madelyn stood in the doorway, shouting angrily, causing the thugs to pause.
Seeing Madelyn arrive, Jillian panicked. โMadelyn, why are you here? Please, just go!โ
How could Madelyn abandon her friend? She wouldnโt leave.
The thugs eyed Madelyn up and down, noticing her unfamiliarity and decent attire.
โWho are you?โ one of them yelled.
Madelyn looked at them calmly and replied, โIโm Jillianโs friend.โ
โAnd who are you people? Youโre causing trouble in someone elseโs home in broad daylight. Arenโt you afraid of getting caught?โ Madelyn retorted sarcastically.
The thug sneered, โWeโre not afraid of getting caught. Weโre here to collect a debt. Her brother owes us millions from gambling and has disappeared. Weโre here for payment.โ
Upon hearing this, Madelyn couldnโt help but scoff, โA bunch of grown men resorting to bullying a defenseless woman. How shameful! If you were real men, youโd go after her brother!โ
However, the thugs ignored her remarks.
One of them turned and kicked Fiona hard. โI donโt care. Either pay up today or we take Jillian to settle the debt. Otherwise, Iโll beat you all!โ
Then he turned to Madelyn. โAnd you, stop interfering. Or else youโll get it too!โ
โHey!โ Madelyn was furious. โAre you disregarding the law?โ
โShut up! Want me to beat you to death?โ the thug threatened, swinging his club menacingly.
โStop!โ Jillian saw this and panicked. โIโll go with you, Iโll go!โ
The thugs stopped and asked, โWhat did you say?โ
Jillian took a deep breath, despair evident in her voice, โI said Iโll go with you, but donโt hurt my mom and my friend.โ
The thugs seemed satisfied upon hearing this and grunted. โSmart move.โ
โSince your daughter is willing to come with us, consider this matter settled. Just make sure we never see that kid again!โ
After saying this to Fiona, the thugs grabbed Jillian by her hair again and prepared to leave.
โNo! Jillian, donโt be foolish!โ Madelyn rushed forward and blocked Jillian.
Jillian burst into tears. โMadelyn, I donโt want to leave with them, but I have no choiceโฆโ
โYou little brat! I warn you, mind your own business!โ
Madelyn sneered and faced them defiantly. โReally? Let me tell you, this is my business and Iโm not backing down!โ
The thugs couldnโt believe she talked back. They were instantly angered. โYou brat, you better listen, or weโll take you too!โ
Madelyn smiled, but her eyes were resolute. โOh yeah? Then try it!โ
The thugs didnโt expect to be challenged by a woman and immediately moved to attack.
One of them rushed forward with a raised club.
โMadelyn!โ Fiona cried out in worry.
However, Madelyn was unfazed. She swiftly grabbed the thugโs arm holding the club, using the moves her coach had taught her. She then quickly kicked him in the groin.
โAh!โ The man doubled over in pain, losing all strength.
Madelyn took the opportunity to kick him down.
Two more thugs came at her.
Unfortunately for them, they were all show and no skill. Although they had clubs, they were just for intimidation.
Madelyn bravely fought against the four of them. Though it took some effort, she managed to kick each one in the groin and knock them to the ground.
During the fight, however, Madelyn couldnโt avoid being hit on the arm with a club.
The thugs could barely stand, clutching their groins.
Madelyn held her arm and winced in pain.
Terrified, Jillian rushed to her. โMadelyn, youโre hurt!โ
Madelyn brushed it off, saying, โDonโt worry, the police are coming. Theyโll take care of these guys soon.โ
The thugs panicked upon hearing this. They exclaimed, โShe called the police! Letโs get out of here!โ
โHey brat, just you wait and see!โ
With that, the thugs scrambled to their feet, clutching their groins, and ran away.
