Return of the Crowned Heiress (Felicia)-Chapter 197

Listen to this chapter:

Dexter would transfer five percent of the company's shares to Felicia? Kayla was stunned. The Fuller family was the wealthiest in Khogend. Five percent of the shares meant Felicia could live comfortably without working, even spending lavishly. As long as the Fuller Group remained operational, she could live as a wealthy heiress.

Kayla only possessed one percent, a prize from a piano competition last year. What had Felicia done to deserve this? Kayla felt furious; in her mind, everything belonged to her. Even Sebastian, with his overseas career, shouldn't compete with her. Why did Felicia deserve this?

In a fit of anger, Kayla's voice sharpened. "Dad, Mom! It's just her birthday. Why are you giving her so many shares? You're biased!" She had earlier accused Sebastian of bias; now she accused Dexter and Myra. It seemed any preferential treatment towards Felicia, however slight, was considered favoritism.

For the first time, Sebastian saw Kayla as spoiled and unreasonable. "The company is Dad's hard work," he stated. "Who he gives shares to, and how much, is his decision, not yours." He added, pointedly, that Kayla wasn't even their biological daughter, further emphasizing her lack of claim on the inheritance.

She stamped her foot, eyes reddening. "Why doesn't Dad give me anything for my birthday?"

Dexter chuckled, understanding that the issue wasn't wealth, but fairness. "Don't worry," he said heartily. "Both of you will get something! I worked hard to build this business. Of course, you'll inherit it someday. How could I give shares only to Felicia and not to you?" Kayla's expression softened slightly.

But her unhappiness remained. Felicia's shares diminished Kayla's potential inheritance; she could have claimed ten percent otherwise. Now, she had to share.

Kayla bit her lip, grumbling, "Grandpa always said Felicia would inherit the Walsh family's wealth. She's really clever, getting both sides." Myra laughed. "Where did you hear that? Your grandpa wouldn't do that. Anyone but Felicia could inherit the Walsh family's wealth." The Walsh family had multiple branches and three sons vying for the inheritance; even with Clive's support, it wouldn't be Felicia's. This was clearly a ploy to make Dexter reconsider.

However, Dexter and Myra had already decided to give five percent to each daughter and Sebastian. After graduation, they could pursue other careers or join the company.

Dexter explained his plan. "So, are you satisfied now?"

Kayla's mind raced. With her existing one percent and the additional five, she'd still have more than Felicia! What did it matter if Felicia was the natural heiress? Eighteen years of connection with Dexter and Myra outweighed that.

Despite a public show of sweetness, Kayla gave Felicia a smug look when alone. Felicia chuckled, then said, "I don't want those shares. Give them all to her." She left the room. Dexter and Myra were surprised, as was Sebastian. Only Kayla was ecstatic, believing Felicia's refusal solidified her claim.
