Listen to this chapter:

Mina collapsed onto the floor, her face ashen, her body trembling. "W-What did you say? Is Ruben dead...?"

The sleepless night, unanswered calls, and Ruben's cryptic remarks about leverage coalesced in her mind. With a heart-wrenching wail, she scrambled to Felicia's feet, clutching her ankles. "Ms. Felicia, please! You know somethingโ€”tell me! Tell me where Ruben is!"

Felicia calmly wiped her hands with a napkin, removing traces of grease from her breakfast. Her voice was cold and detached.

"In the river."

Mina's eyes rolled back; she almost fainted. Before she lost consciousness, Felicia deftly used two silver needles to restore her breathing. Mina gasped, consciousness returning. Her grief instantly morphed into rage. She lunged at Felicia, fists flailing.

"If you knew, why didn't you save him? Why didn't you save him?"

Felicia firmly grasped Mina's wrists, her calm gaze unwavering. "Do you want revenge?" she asked quietly. "Do you want to see the murderer face justice?"

Mina froze, her anger yielding to despair. "Revenge? Justice? How? What can I possibly do? Your family is so powerful. Covering up a murder would be nothing for the Fuller family."

"That's why you need to listen to me," Felicia said, releasing Mina's hands. Her expression remained impassive.

Meanwhile, in the surveillance room, Kayla used a flimsy excuse to dismiss the guard. Alone, she systematically deleted all vehicle tracking data prior to that day, ensuring no trace remained. The guard returned, gawking at the empty logs. "Ms. Kayla, why did you delete all the previous data?"

"Oh, I accidentally cleared everything," she said dismissively. "It's not a big deal, so don't make a fuss."

Kayla left with a smug smile. She owed Felicia for reminding her about the GPS logs; otherwise, she might have left incriminating evidence.

"Let them search all they want," she muttered. "They won't find a thing."

Shortly after, Mina and the guard arrived at the surveillance room. Despite clinging to hope that Felicia was mistaken, Mina's heart sank when the guard confirmed the worst. "It's all gone. The GPS data for Ruben's Rolls Royce, and every other car's tracking data, have been erased."

The guard shrugged. "Looks like there's no way to track it now. I guess we'll just have to wait for Ruben to come back on his own."

Mina, however, wasn't listening. She left the Fuller residence, hailing an Uber to the beach at the far end of Cedar Street.

The morning sun glinted off the water, its serenity almost mocking. The cold wind whipped Mina's face as she stared at the beach. With trembling hands, she pulled out her phone.

"Hello? I need to report a crime. My husband has been murdered. His body is at the bottom of the river."

In the back seat of the car, en route to the conference, Sebastian waved a hand in front of Felicia's face, grinning. "Hey Felicia, what's got you so distracted?"

She snapped out of her thoughts and smiled playfully. "I was just thinking how dashing you look in a suit!"

"Mastering the art of flattery will get you everywhere!" Sebastian laughed, his mood brightening.

At the conference, Felicia was surprised by its scale. The grand venue was packed with prominent companies. "This is impressive," she remarked.

"It's one of the biggest conferences in the region," Sebastian explained. "All the top companies are here."

Felicia nodded, glancing around. "Do you think there's a company here called Jupiter Group?" she asked.

Sebastian raised an eyebrow. "You're really interested in that company, aren't you? This is the second time you've asked. I'm sure there's no such company here," he replied confidently. "If you don't believe me, check the guest list."
