The mother and daughter, disguised to avoid recognition, slipped out and into their car, finally sighing in relief. A flashbulb popped nearby. Myraโ€™s face fell. โ€œThere are reporters behind us!โ€ she urged the driver. โ€œStep on the gas!โ€

He obeyed, accelerating rapidly, making the passengers dizzy. They eventually eluded their pursuers and returned to the Fuller residence. The atmosphere was tense, far worse than after Kayla's last arrest. Dexter, his head bandaged with thick gauze and a netted cap, looked haggard, a shadow of his former self. His phone buzzed incessantly with calls from the company; partnerships were dissolving, and rivals were poaching employees. He silenced the phone, unwilling to confront the mounting chaos.

When Myra arrived, Dexter offered his usual smile. "Where have you two been?"

"Nowhere. Just a walk," Myra replied, sitting beside him. "Does your head still hurt?"

"No," Dexter said, taking her hand. He added lightly, "My rivals have attacked; they're coming for our throats. This time... I don't think I'll recover."

Myra's eyes filled with pity. "It's okay. We'll be alright as long as we're together."

Dexter laughed, attempting to lighten the mood. "Maybe our family will be living on the streets soon."

The Fullers were bankrupt; all their assets would be liquidated to pay their debts. Homelessness loomed.

Kayla laughed awkwardly. "Mom's right. There's nothing to fear as long as we're together!" But as she turned, her face twisted in rage. She had recently acquired twenty percent of Fuller Group's shares. Dexter and Myra had even prepared their wills, dividing their inheritance equally between her and Sebastian. Now, there was nothing left to inherit.

Kayla couldn't comprehend the Fullers' bankruptcy. Was there no way to save the company? Then, a memory struck her. She recalled a dreamโ€”the Fullers had faced a similar crisis before, but Arnold, inheriting Fuller Group, had resolved it.

Should she ask Arnold for help? The dream, vivid as a past life, had led her back to the Fullers, rekindling Dexter and Myra's love. She'd never doubted its significance. Victory over Felicia in her past life presaged victory now.

Kayla immediately called Arnold, but his number was unavailable. Was it the time difference? Was he asleep? Repeated calls failed. Finally, she realizedโ€”Arnold had blocked her number.
