Kayla had gone to see Arnold off at the airport. She believed her actions would sway him, but Arnold remained indifferent, pushing her away when she attempted to hug him. He cited the need to avoid suspicion and instructed her not to contact him again. He confessed to having come to terms with his feelings, admitting he liked Felicia. He considered Kayla only a sister—always had, and always would.
Kayla, furious but undeterred, frequently texted him, sharing updates about her life. Arnold never responded. Undaunted, Kayla believed her persistence would change his mind. After all, he'd been ostracized by his family, had left the country, and was in a miserable state. She was, in her view, the only one who cared.
But Arnold proved far colder than she anticipated, severing all contact. Kayla, enraged, screamed and hurled her phone across the room, shattering the screen. A maid jumped back, striking her leg on a table and bursting into tears. Feeling wronged and angry, the maid glared at Kayla, a look Kayla noticed. "I'll gouge your eyes out if you keep glaring!" Kayla snapped.
No one had previously dared challenge Kayla; she was the Fullers' cherished daughter, known for her volatile temper. However, with the Fullers under surveillance and their home surrounded by reporters, the maid's patience snapped. "I can do whatever I want! What are you going to do about it?" she retorted.
Kayla, unable to tolerate the provocation, grabbed a figurine and hurled it at the maid, who dodged quickly. The figurine struck a priceless painting, causing significant damage.
Dexter and Myra, believing there was a break-in, rushed in to find Kayla throwing objects and the maid dodging them. Dexter roared, "Stop it!" Kayla, halting, complained, "Dad, this maid disrespected me! She's taking advantage of our family's downfall to insult me!"
The maid vehemently denied the accusation. "Mr. and Mrs. Fuller, I've never insulted Ms. Kayla, nor have I looked down on your family's misfortune. Ms. Kayla has been hitting and mistreating us maids."
Dexter cut her off. He summoned the staff, paid them, and dismissed most, retaining only two cooks and significantly reducing security personnel.
The once-bustling villa felt eerily empty. Kayla, watching the staff leave, felt a growing sense of fear. The Fullers' bankruptcy loomed.
