"Sate. No problem," Myra responded immediately. However, when she received the payment invoice and saw the amount, her expression stiffened. She suddenly recalled the Fuller family's bankruptcy; all their properties, including their jewelry, had been auctioned off to settle debts. The only asset remaining was the house they occupied; if they sold that, they would be truly homeless.

With no other option, Myra called Sebastian and briefly explained the situation, ultimately requesting two million dollars. Sebastian owned his own business, but he hadn't mentioned the difficulties of his overseas entrepreneurial journey, nor his business partners. When the Fuller family was publicly ridiculed, Sebastian and his partner's company suffered significantly. The family's subsequent bankruptcy dealt an even harder blow, culminating in his partner's furious outburst.

Sebastian couldn't tolerate the insults aimed at his parents. The simmering friction between him and his partner finally erupted. They parted ways acrimoniously, dissolving their partnership. This division necessitated a profit split, fueling further conflict. Neither side compromised. It was during this division that Sebastian discovered significant flaws in the contract his partner had presented. His trust had been betrayed and weaponized against him. Consequently, most of the company's resources had been diverted to his partner, leaving Sebastian with dwindling assets. Despite this, he silently transferred two million dollars to Myra.

The money alleviated Myra's immediate needs; medical and emergency fees were paid. Before Dexter regained consciousness, Myra, worried about Kayla, hurried home from the hospital. Fear gnawed at her; her heart pounded until she opened the door and saw Kayla on the couch, eating fruit. Relief washed over her. "Kayla, are you okay? I was so worried!"

Myra's relief was short-lived, replaced by confusion and a chilling dread. The previous night, they had sent Kayla to seek help, yet the police reported receiving no distress call; they'd only discovered the situation during patrol. This implied Kayla hadn't sought help, instead leisurely enjoying herself while her parents were in danger. This realization left Myra feeling numb with cold dread, a chill spreading from her feet to her hands.

Kayla, startled by the door opening, was shocked to see Myra's return so soon. Given the previous night's events, she'd assumed Myra and Dexter might not return at all. Cursing inwardly, Kayla quickly put down her watermelon, masking her expression. "Mom! You're back! Where's Dad? Are you both okay? Boo-hoo... I was so scared last night. When I escaped, I tried to find help, but I was followed," she cried, jumping up and rushing to Myra, a mixture of fear and relief on her face. "I was terrified, so I ran all the way home to wait for you."
