Listen to this chapter:

But if nothing was wrong, Hubert's fainting and coma were impossible. When Felicia entered the ward, several physicians were gathered, discussing treatment plans. Melvin's two lackeys stood silently against the wall, too fearful to speak.

Hubert lay on the bed, eyes closed, his complexion healthy, showing no signs of illness. Felicia reached out to check his pulse.

The physiciansโ€™ discussion ceased as they saw this. One, a stranger to Felicia, shouted angrily, "What are you doing? Who permitted you, a young woman, to enter? Leave!"

Another physician tugged at his arm, whispering, "Mr. Rowe, please. This is Mr. Walsh Senior's granddaughter, Felicia Fuller. He's already stated she will inherit the medical center..."

Ingram Rowe replied coldly, showing no respect, "Is Mr. Walsh Senior losing his mind? How can a young woman treat someone? Doesn't she care about making a fool of herself?"

"Precisely! Be careful, or you'll ruin our reputation," another physician added. These physicians were Clive's usual consultants, considered his disciples. With Clive aging and heirless, they expected to inherit the medical center. Felicia's unexpected appearance was unacceptable.

Focused on checking the pulse, Felicia ignored their subtle attempts to undermine her. Withdrawing her hand, Melvin hurried forward, asking, "How is he? What's wrong with my father?"

"His pulse seems perfectly normal," Felicia replied.

A snicker came from behind. Ingram, openly disdainful, said coldly, "You're putting on a show. You heard us say his pulse was fine, so you repeated it. Are you pretending to know something?"

Felicia raised an eyebrow. "It seems you have a problem with me."

"Not just me. We all do. Do you think being Mr. Walsh Senior's granddaughter makes you superior? Ridiculous! You haven't learned the basics and dare to treat someone?" Ingram scoffed. "Let me be clear: if you cure the patient, I'll gladly become your apprentice."

No one believed in Felicia's skills. Even Melvin, his face etched with despair, asked, "Will my father be alright?"

Felicia glanced at him, casually picking up a silver needle. "What's the rush? I haven't finished."

She continued, "His pulse shows no illness, but...who says this is an illness? Perhaps a parasite is the culprit."

As she spoke, she quickly inserted two needles. To everyone's shock, something wriggled beneath the skin at the puncture site.

Melvin yelped, collapsing. "A bug!"

Felicia swiftly removed the needle, sealing the bug in a vial.

As the bug was extracted, Hubert stirred and opened his eyes. "He's awake! He's awake!"

Ingram watched in disbelief; the others were speechless, awestruck.

Felicia wiped her hands, writing down her account number. Turning to Melvin and Hubert, she said, "Transfer my payment."

She started to leave. Ingram, regaining his composure, hurried after her, uncertainly calling, "Hey, Felicia. What was that? How did you know it was a bug?"
