Listen to this chapter:

Before Felicia could react, she saw something flying from Scarlet's hand. A scream echoed from the alley a second later. Felicia quickly moved toward the sound. Reaching the alley, she saw a shadowy figure limping away, disappearing into the far end of the lane.

Scarlet's relaxed demeanor vanished, replaced by a hardened expression and taut muscles. "Should we go after them?"

Scarlet would pursue them if Felicia gave the order. Her skills as a former mercenary made her unmatched in agility and combat.

Felicia turned back toward the clinic. "No need. Let's go back. I know who it is."

It was one of Maurice's men. Since leaving Khogend, Maurice had stationed people to monitor her. These men were usually well-hidden and rarely revealed themselves. This spy must have seen the Russell family's car and assumed Stephan had arrived, prompting him to take a risk. He likely didn't expect Scarlet to sense him.

Back at the clinic, Felicia considered her options before calling Stephan. As expected, he didn't answer. She found Maurice's number and called. This time, the call connected instantly.

Maurice's nonchalant voice filled the line. "Say you miss me, or I'm hanging up."

What was wrong with this man?

Felicia rolled her eyes. She snapped, "Did you forget your medication today? Get your people toโ€”"

The call ended abruptly.

Felicia swallowed her curses but couldn't let it go, calling again. Maurice answered just as quickly, sounding smug. "Alright, I get it. You missed me, didn't you, sweetheart?"

"Fuck off!" Felicia hung up.

Talking to him was pointless. Maurice clearly had no intention of withdrawing his men; he was either intentionally annoying her or insane. Nothing good would come from him.

Felicia tossed her phone aside and saw Scarlet lounging nearby, watching her with an amused smirk. Felicia rubbed her throbbing temple before heading into the storeroom.

The rare herbs she'd taken from the Russell family were still there. Regardless of her fallout with Imogen, Felicia had been paid to do a job. A deal was a deal. She would fulfill her promise to cure Imogen.

Felicia spent two days in the storeroom. When she emerged, her clothes were stained with the scent of herbs. She had completed the antidote.

She called Kerry and handed him a small bottle. "Take this to the Russell residence in Seldvale and deliver it to their eldest daughter. Tell her to take it; her eyesight will be restored within two hours."

"Yes, boss!" Kerry was enthusiastic, eager to represent the clinic for such an important task. He straightened, his posture exuding confidence. Felicia paid for his travel expenses, including airfare and taxi fare. Turning around, she saw Scarlet lean in, teasing, "What about my pay, boss?"
