The remaining five infernaries split into two groups, following the routes Felicia had planned. Scarlet, however, followed Felicia down a different path. The night was pitch-black, and their flashlight, the most basic model, offered little illumination. It only lit the path directly beneath their feet, leaving the surrounding darkness largely untouched. In such dense darkness, the thick forest seemed to writhe with ghostly shadows. When the wind blew, making the trees sway, the eerie atmosphere intensified. Scarlet rubbed her arm, feeling her hairs stand on end. She turned to look at Felicia, who appeared completely unaffected, walking at a calm pace, devoid of fear.

"Boss, aren't you afraid at all?" Scarlet asked, confused.

Felicia continued walking, observing the terrain and tracks. "No," she replied casually. She had walked alone through the night and scaled a mountain in a perilous rainforest. This mountain, lacking even the threat of wild animals, was the least of her concerns. Back in the rainforest, she had even been targeted by a giant python! For Felicia, the darkness wasn't frightening. What was terrifying were the people hiding within it.

The sound of fallen leaves underfoot echoed as Scarlet followed closely. "No way. You're definitely lying to me!" Scarlet shook her head, unconvinced. In her eyes, Felicia was the young lady who could easily commission works for 500 million dollars. She didn't seem like someone who would endure such hardship.

Felicia answered nonchalantly, "When I was younger, the school was far from the village, and I had to cross mountains to get there. It's not just walking through the night. I've also walked through a graveyard."

Felicia paused. The memories of her childhood, long thought forgotten, flooded back as she spoke. "When I passed the graveyard during the day, I wasn't scared. But at night, I would walk past it with my eyes closed, not daring to look up or around until I saw the village lights. Only then would I feel safe. As I got used to it, it didn't feel like much. As time passed, I continued to walk the path alone. Sometimes, I'd even intentionally slow down and rest by the graveyard. Because, at that time, those bullies wouldn't dare come near." Felicia laughed.

Scarlet's expression shifted from disbelief to silence, and the two continued walking in quiet companionship for a while. After a long pause, Scarlet said, "I have a younger sister. When our parents divorced, I stayed with my mom, and she stayed with my dad. We were both young and promised we'd meet again when we had the chance. But later, that man remarried, and they had a son. My sister was abused to death by them. Then, my mom found a new husband, and he wasn't a good person eitherโ€ฆ" Scarlet offered a hollow laugh. "Anyway," she concluded, "they all paid the price."

Felicia paused, saying nothing. When Scarlet caught up and was about to ask why they had stopped, she was suddenly enveloped in a warm embrace. Scarlet froze for a moment, then gently placed her chin on Felicia's shoulder and let out a soft, faint sigh.
