The atmosphere shifted as Felicia and Scarlet continued their search. A single glance conveyed Felicia's intent, instantly understood by Scarlet. Their seamless synchronicity was remarkable.

After more than an hour, Felicia stopped, crouching to examine dried leaves. She reached back to Scarlet, who promptly handed her a small stick. Felicia used it to sweep aside the leaves, revealing damp, mucky soil and a strong, pungent odor.

Scarlet pinched her nose in disgust but didn't retreat. "What is that smell?" she mumbled.

"Urine," Felicia replied, tossing the stick aside and standing. A faint smile touched her lips as she scanned the area. "We've found the right place. This is their hideout."

Ground traces indicated someone had recently descended from the mountain. Footprints suggested a single person, whose purposeโ€”contacting others or making a purchaseโ€”remained unclear.

With the location confirmed, the search became easier. While occasional footprints were visible, most would have been missed without Felicia's sharp observation and keen sense of smell. Scarlet maintained pace, simultaneously messaging the five other mercenaries. Their five red dots on her tablet rapidly converged.

Felicia continued her search, employing tracking skills recently learned from Stanley in the rainforest. After another hour, they reached a bomb shelter deep in the mountains, its entrance almost entirely concealed by vines, save for one cleared spot.

"Is this the place?" Scarlet frowned. "I don't know what's inside. If it's full of people, we won't stand a chance." She continued, "How about this, boss? You stay hidden here,โ€”"

Before Scarlet finished, Felicia produced something from her backpack. "No need. We have this." She threw a disguised mobile camera with infrared sensors into the entranceโ€”expensive but invaluable equipment prepared by the other mercenaries. Felicia's aim was perfect.

The footage appeared instantly on her tablet. Initially dizzying as the camera tumbled, it soon stabilized, revealing no people within the shelter. Felicia and Scarlet exchanged confused glances. Had they found the wrong place?

Just then, the camera showed a large, welded, and rusted iron door blocking the way. Simultaneously, the tablet received a signal. Infrared thermal imaging revealed several people behind the doorโ€”the kidnapped women! No other signs of lifeโ€”no guards or kidnappersโ€”were present within the shelter.
