Listen to this chapter:

Clark immediately pulled a small display device from his pocket. Pointing to the flashing red on the screen, he said awkwardly, “If the tracker is still on that gentleman, then he’s at this location and hasn’t moved for at least ten hours!”

The implication of over ten hours without movement was clear—the tracker placed in Monkey's backpack had likely been discovered and discarded. Or, it could mean he was dead.

Felicia hesitated no longer. She was about to leave when she noticed a man lazily leaning against a nearby stone. She suddenly remembered she had completely forgotten about him.

Following Felicia’s gaze, Scarlet noticed the man and was surprised. "This is..."

Before Felicia could speak, Clark jumped up and shouted, “Captain Cortez! How come you’re tied up?”

Felicia's eyes widened. Captain Cortez? So, his last name was Cortez. It sounded familiar, as if she'd heard it before.

Felicia turned to the man, and their gazes met. Michael Cortez, who had been leaning against the stone, watched her.

Felicia looked at Clark and asked, “Do you know him?”

“Yes, of course! Captain Cortez is the one I begged to help in this search!” Clark nodded vigorously. After Jennifer went missing, he’d sought help from everyone he could, eventually reaching out to the Special Operations Unit. With the tracker he’d secretly placed on Monkey, he was certain Jennifer had been brought here. He hadn't wasted any time getting here.

When Michael learned of Clark's actions, he worried Clark would act recklessly, so he'd brought his team to investigate the missing women cases.

Clark quickly made the connection when he saw the restraints on Michael’s hands and noticed Felicia’s wariness. He slapped his thigh and exclaimed, “Miss, you didn’t mistake Captain Cortez for an enemy, did you? Oh, this is a misunderstanding! He’s one of us!”

Clark rushed forward and began untying the belt around Michael’s hands. He secretly glanced at Felicia and whispered, “Michael, so even you can’t beat her, eh? You even got tied up by her?”

Michael shot him a cold glance.

Clark immediately fell silent.

Michael walked to Felicia and stood before her. After a moment of silence, he extended his hand. “Let me introduce myself. I’m Captain of the Special Operations Unit.”

“I’m Felicia.” Felicia paused. Then, remembering her earlier actions—attacking him with needles and threatening him with a gun—she maintained a neutral expression and added, “I’m a…”

Michael’s lips curled into a slight smile as they exchanged a brief handshake.

Seeing Michael didn't seem interested in pursuing the matter, Felicia quickly thought of her three mercenaries and said, “Since this was a misunderstanding, Captain Cortez, please call back your team. We wouldn’t want any accidental injuries.”

“Sure,” Michael agreed and used his communicator to recall his team.

Soon, everyone returned, along with Felicia's three mercenaries. Their clothes showed signs of a struggle, but after their confrontation, both sides had realized each other's identities and regrouped. That's why they arrived so quickly.
