The medical texts were invaluable; every page a treasure. Felicia discovered them at age ten. The cover was faded and nearly illegible, yet she deciphered the obscure content and acupuncture diagrams. So engrossed was she that she forgot to prepare dinner, leading to Howell's harsh punishment—a beating and the book's destruction by Tabitha. Shawn then expelled her for the family's hunger.

That frigid winter night, with temperatures plummeting to minus two degrees, Felicia huddled under the eaves, near death. As unconsciousness claimed her, the memorized medical knowledge surged to life. Experimenting cautiously, she discovered her ability to perform acupuncture on herself. She dedicated eight years to mastering the book's contents, often practicing late into the night.

Awakening at dawn, she instinctively made her bed. The neat blankets triggered a flood of memories: her past life, Kayla's faked death, Felicia's imprisonment as a scapegoat by her fiancé, Arnold. Four years of unimaginable torture resurfaced—humiliation, torment, pain— shattering her composure. This was not the past; she was no longer a victim. She would control her destiny.

Composing herself, Felicia descended. Dexter and Myra slept. Only the maids bustled about. Their respectful greeting, "Good morning, Ms. Fuller," was met with a nod. However, one maid, sneering, muttered, "A wild goose thinks it's a swan."

Felicia chuckled softly, "I see you're unhappy, but what can you do about it?" The maid, speechless, flushed crimson. Nora Hall, an older maid, intervened, apologizing for her niece, Holly's, insolence. Felicia dismissed the incident; Holly, a loyal servant to Kayla in her past life, might prove useful.

Left alone, Holly fumed, "She thinks she's all that!" Nora sternly rebuked her, warning her to respect Ms. Fuller or face dismissal. Holly, enraged at the perceived injustice toward Kayla, remained defiant, vowing to help Kayla oust Felicia.

Felicia, after a lengthy jog around the estate's golf course, returned to find Dexter reading and Myra on the phone with their son, Sebastian. Their ensuing lighthearted banter highlighted a warmth Felicia had once envied. The moment Felicia entered, the cheerful atmosphere stilled. Myra greeted her warmly, inquiring about her sleep.

Breakfast was lavish. Dexter's departure left the three women. Myra, planning a shopping trip for Felicia, was interrupted by Kayla's eagerness to join. Felicia declined, claiming prior engagements, leaving Myra slightly concerned. Holly's announcement of Arnold Lawson's arrival added further tension.
