Listen to this chapter:

Hearing Arnold Lawson's name sent a surge of hatred through Felicia. She couldn't forget his cold, decisive role in her imprisonment in her past life, nor the memory of him looking down on her, bloodied and barely alive. She refused to even look at him. Felicia strode outside just as Eugene pulled up. Without hesitation, she entered the car.

"Drive," she commanded.

Eugene started the vehicle. Simultaneously, Arnold arrived at the Fuller residence. As their cars passed, he glanced out, momentarily blinded by the sunlight. In that fleeting moment, he glimpsed a flawless profileโ€”a cool, striking beautyโ€”before it vanished.

Arnold exited his car and turned to look back, but Kayla's cheerful voice interrupted him.

"Arnie!"

He turned, his expression softening into a smile that enhanced his handsome features. He affectionately ruffled Kayla's hair.

Blushing, Kayla began to speak, but Arnold looked down the road. "Was that the daughter Mr. and Mrs. Fuller just brought back?"

Kayla froze, instantly alert. Reluctantly, she admitted Felicia's undeniable beauty and commanding presence. Biting her lip, she cautiously asked, "Arnie, have you met her? What do you think?"

"What can I think?" Arnold chuckled, teasing her. "I'm just worried my precious pearl might receive less attention. I wouldn't want to see you cry."

"Arnie!" Kayla playfully stamped her foot, inwardly relieved. Some people were irreplaceable.

Once the car pulled away from the Fuller residence, Eugene respectfully asked, "Where to, Ms. Fuller?"

"Harmony Medical Center," she replied.

Harmony Medical Center was Khogend's largest and most prestigious medical facility, renowned for its traditional doctors. Eugene instinctively asked, "Are you unwell, Ms. Fuller?"

"No," Felicia said honestly. "I'm going to work."

Eugene was surprised and sympathetic. Considering her past, he kindly suggested, "Now that you're home, you could quit. You don't need to work so hard."

Felicia shook her head. "What others give, they can take away. I only rely on what I have."

So what if she'd returned to the Fullers? They had discarded her before. Only her knowledge, skills, and medical training allowed her true independence.

Eugene began to speak, but they hit a traffic jam. A serious accident had occurred ahead; Felicia heard shouts for an ambulance.

"I'll take a look," she said, exiting the car. She navigated the congestion and reached the accident.

Two cars had collided. While not severe, a frail elderly man lay on the ground, flushed and struggling to breathe.

Felicia was shocked. The man was Arnold's grandfather, head of the Lawson family. In her past life, after saving him, he'd favored her, suggesting a marriage alliance with Arnold. This had fueled Arnold's hatred, convinced she'd manipulated the situation. She remembered this incident occurring after a party, caused by poisoningโ€”not an accidentโ€”that she had prevented. Everything was happening too soon. Fate, it seemed, was inescapable.

As Felicia stood frozen, a black Rolls Royce was forced to stop.

"The road's blocked, Mr. Russell," the driver said cautiously.

Stephan, resting in the back seat, opened his eyes. His dark lashes shadowed his sharp features, his expression unreadable, yet his presence was imposing. "Mm," he replied tersely.

The driver sighed in relief. Mike, beside him, flashed a gold-embossed invitation. "You have the invitation, Stephan! No need to sneak into the Fuller residence anymore."

Arnold raised an eyebrow, taking the invitation. Two words caught his attentionโ€”Felicia Fuller. The real heiress.

Mike added, "Besides her beautiful eyes, she's quite pretty. Very charming!"

Arnold discarded the invitation. His gaze drifted to the window. "Mike, that looks like Mr. Lawson Senior's car."

"What?" Mike's heart sank. He saw the car involved in the collision belonged to Matthew Lawson. His own family was in trouble. He jumped out, but Arnold restrained him.

"Why are you holding me back? I need to save him!" Mike exclaimed, panicking.

Arnold pointed to the accident scene. Emerging from the crowd was Felicia.
