Listen to this chapter:

"Hey! Have you lost your minds? What are you doing?" Talia was about to scream, but Felicia shoved her head down, forcing her to grovel at Roberta's feet. Kayla, similarly restrained, was also compelled to grovel repeatedly.

"See that? That's a human life! A precious human life!" Felicia's eyes were red-rimmed, her voice laced with fury. "Is it her fault people call her illegitimate? Doesn't the fault lie with the one who chose to have an affair? You could ignore her, or kick her out. Why sell her to human traffickers and subject her to inhumane treatment? Do you feel no regret for driving her to suicide?"

Felicia, burning with rage, continued forcing Talia and Kayla to grovel before Roberta's gradually cooling body. This act, she felt, was the least these perpetrators deserved, though it wouldn't atone for their past actions. Thud! Thud! Thud! Only when blood stained the ground and exhaustion overcame her did Felicia release them.

Talia, her bun disheveled and head swimming from the repeated groveling, regained her senses and pointed at Felicia, shouting, "You damned wench! How dare you? I'll tear you to shreds!" She lunged, but Clive roared, "Enough!"

He rarely lost his temper these days. Usually, displeasure manifested as a stern tone at most. But now, fury rendered him almost unsteady, his voice a thunderous command.

Talia halted, indignant. "Grandpa, you must do something! If this continues, the Walshes will be pushed around by this wench! Who does she think she is? How dare a bastard like her strike me?"

Kayla, still dizzy and worried about her recent facial implant, sobbed when she heard Clive seemingly taking Felicia's side. "Grandpa, you saw it! We did nothing, yet Felicia attacked us… I'm in so much pain…"

Clive felt a momentary darkness cloud his vision. He composed himself, then asked, "Licia, what happened?"

Felicia lifted Roberta into her arms. Maids quickly brought a small bed, and she laid Roberta upon it. "Grandpa, you felt her pulse. You know how Roberta died, right?"

Clive couldn't lie. He'd made the poison himself, understanding its potency and effects. Agony twisted his face. This wasn't the first time; his wife had died from accidental contact with his own creation. "It's my fault. Roberta is dead because of me." Tears streamed down his face.

Felicia smirked, her gaze fixed on Talia and Kayla. "Grandpa, don't jump to conclusions. I think the murderer is someone else." The poison wasn't the issue; under certain circumstances, it could even be a cure. The problem lay with those who used it maliciously, disregarding human life.

"Who?" Clive demanded.

"Those two," Felicia declared, pointing at Talia and Kayla. "They're the murderers!"
