Chapter 51

Looking at Isabel, who was about to overtake him, Roger abruptly tried to block her motorcycle, attempting to force her off the road. He wanted to see her fall from the cliff and die. A flash of ruthless intent crossed his eyes as he thought, "To hell with it." He lunged towards her fiercely.

Isabel, having witnessed Roger's races before, knew his style. Phillip anxiously exclaimed, "Shit! Roger's going to hurt her!" as he watched them on the screen. Blake, usually calm, stood, fists clenched, his gaze fixed on the screen. Everyone was worried about Isabel. Meanwhile, those who'd bet against her considered BBB doomed.

Just as everyone was about to cheer for Roger, they were shocked. Isabel, anticipating Roger's move, hit the gas as he pushed her toward the valley's edge. Her motorcycle soared into the air, clearing him, and sped off. She'd flown directly over Roger's head and landed safely. She'd overtaken him. Roger, however, in his eagerness, lost control on the wet bend—the rain from the previous night hadn't completely dried. His motorcycle flipped, he fell, and plummeted down the valley.

Dead silence fell. They couldn't believe their eyes. Isabel had not only avoided danger with incredible speed but had also performed a breathtaking mid-air stunt. The bettors' first thought, upon regaining their senses, was, "I'm doomed." One cried, "Shit! I bet all my money on Roger!" Another echoed, "Me too. Who on earth is this racer from Immortal Fleet? She's incredible!" Exclamations of "She's the best I've ever seen!" and "B.B… Could it be that B.B. from Top Race two years ago?" filled the air.

Some recognized the name "B.B." It was said that she'd astonished everyone with her superior skills at Top Race, becoming a legend before disappearing mysteriously. No one knew her real name, gender, or appearance. She was an enigma. Soon, she was forgotten by all but a few.

Chapter 31

Only those who participated in, or watched, the competition remembered the super racer named B.B., who'd once dominated the racing world. Tyler ended their discussion, musing, "Seems someone still remembers Isabel." He thought, Well, they aren't to blame. The race back then was held abroad, so very few people in the country knew about her. News about B.B. was largely suppressed at the time, for privacy reasons. Even within the racing world, knowledge of her was limited to hearsay.

One of Tyler's men approached, saying, "Mr. Preston, B.B. won the championship! How exciting. We're going to make a fortune again!"

Tyler responded dryly, unsurprised. His subordinate exclaimed, "B.B. is really something! Out of so many people, only one person bet on her. That person is so smart!"

Tyler said proudly, "That person is me." His subordinate was momentarily surprised, then quickly flattered him. Tyler thought, Of course, I went to that race with Isabel back then.

Inside the tent, Blake stood, saying, "Let's go pick up Isabel." They went to the finish line but didn't see her. Simon curiously asked, "Where is she?" Someone replied, "Perhaps she has left already." They found her back in her own clothes, a far cry from the cool, sassy B.B. on the track. Blake excitedly hugged her, relieved she was safe. He'd been so worried seeing Roger waiting to harm her. Simon ran over, exclaiming, "Isabel, you were amazing!"

Isabel looked at Phillip, saying, "Phillip, keep my identity confidential. Understand?" He immediately replied, "Sure thing." Isabel didn't want people to know she was B.B., and Phillip agreed, wanting to be her sole confidant. He vowed to deflect any inquiries about the winner.

Meanwhile, Roger was found. The doctor pronounced him dead. The news was met with mixed reactions. For many racers Roger had crippled or killed with his dirty tricks, there was relief. Jacob, remembering Roger's past scorn, felt a sense of justice. He thought, Roger, you deserve it. Remember how you looked down upon me before? Though his own ranking wasn't ideal, he felt it was a close call.

Some people questioned B.B.'s identity and affiliation with Phillip’s team. Rumors circulated, connecting B.B. to the legendary Top Race competitor. Jacob approached Phillip, inquiring about B.B.'s identity and gender. Phillip, acting superior, dismissed Jacob's inquiries, claiming B.B. was a random participant who didn't wish to be contacted and had already left. Phillip had already ensured Isabel and Blake's departure. Jacob, despite his denials, was ultimately unsuccessful in learning anything about B.B. from Phillip.
