Chapter 55
“Get in the car,” Blake said, opening the car door. Tubel looked over and saw the Bentley. "When did you buy this?" she asked, stunned.
He replied, "I didn't buy it. I went home today. There are plenty in the garage, and I picked one."
She was speechless for a moment. Then, "You… are you really going back home?" she asked, a hint of reluctance in her voice.
"Yeah. Will you miss me?" he smiled.
"No, I won't," she said, looking away.
"I know you don't want me to leave. Don't worry, Isabel. You're my fiancée. I'm going back to annoy certain people and get back what belongs to… to give to you!" He glanced at her as he drove.
"I don't need it," she refused.
"Yes, you do. Why say no to free gifts?" he said.
She was rendered speechless again.
After he dropped her off, he said he'd pick her up tomorrow. As Isabel watched him leave, she felt he didn't belong here. He should return to the business world.
"Isabel, where's Blake!" Hannah called out.
"Mom, he's gone back to the Yates family's place," Isabel replied.
"I see. Well, he's the Yates family heir. It's only a matter of time before he returns," Hannah said, visibly disappointed. She had considered him almost a son.
"Mom, it's not like he's not coming back. Cheer up," Isabel comforted her.
Hannah looked at her. "That's not what I'm thinking. I'm worried about you. Now that he's back, he's the heir. But you? Will he think you're not good enough for him? After all, we aren't rich, and there are so many wealthy heiresses in Ardenfall."
Isabel interrupted, "Mom, stop worrying. Let nature take its course. Besides, I never took the engagement seriously anyway."
Hannah sighed and said nothing more.
Blake returned to the Yates family estate. Back in his old room, he sighed inwardly. "I'm back in my cage. But this time, I'll be the owner. I'll no longer be a bind in the cage, being manipulated."
After a while, he called Vince. "Vince, I want you to buy the villa in Golden Villa, now."
Vince was surprised. "It's very expensive. I think it's 300 million dollars."
"Just do it," Blake said firmly. Of all the villas in Ardenfall, Golden Villa was the only one he desired.
Vince asked, "Is it for Miss Galvez?"
"Yes. After you buy it, put it in her name."
Vince hesitated. "Well… Blake, I know you have vast assets overseas, but you've been spending a…galore lately."
"Money isn't a problem. Making money is my strong suit. Don't you know that?" Blake said.
"I do. You're so good at it. I'm on it," Vince said. He'd been by Blake's side for so long because of Blake's business acumen. In his eyes, Blake was a genius, easily predicting market trends and making money.
Isabel was at home, guiding Roy with her design. Suddenly, her phone buzzed. It was Chris.
"Roy, go ahead and see if you can make any changes. I'll take this call," she told Roy.
Outside, she answered the call.
Chris said immediately, "Isabel, someone wants to buy your villa in Golden Villa."
"No way," Isabel refused outright.
"But the buyer insists and offered 300 million dollars. Your villa has been vacant for a long time. Besides, it only cost you 90 million to build," Chris argued. His point was clear: she'd make a fortune.
"I said no," Isabel said, hanging up decisively.
She had designed and overseen the villa's construction herself. It was larger than both the Clyde family's villa and the Galvez family's old house. Initially, she intended it as a gift for Caius and Rosy's 60th birthday, but they didn't deserve it. Later, she wanted Hannah and Samuel to have it, but they refused her offer. She wouldn't sell it, regardless of the money.
To her surprise, Chris called again an hour later. "Isabel, the buyer won't give up. He says his boss admires the design and wants it more than any other property in Ardenfall. They want me to talk to you again."
Isabel smiled. Seems that boss has good taste. We’re both into similar styles. But…
"No," she said again.
Chris continued, "The buyer said his boss wants to buy your villa as a gift for his beloved. It's really special. He's willing to pay 60 million more. He's terminally ill, and his beloved has been by his side, so he wants her to have it after he's…"
He described a poignant love story.
"...Isabel, it's so moving. What a pitiful love story. The buyer won't leave. He really wants the villa. Why don't you think about it? It's a nice thing to do."
Isabel wasn't sure if the story was true. After a few minutes, she said, "Fine. Who am I to stop him from throwing his money away!"
400 million dollars far exceeds the value of the villa. I'll just buy another piece of land and design another villa when Dad and Mom come around.
Chapter 55 (continued)
The next day, Blake saw the villa. Vince had completed the transfer of ownership. Blake looked at Isabel's name on the certificate with satisfaction.
Vince described the purchase, "The owner didn't want to sell at first. But I'm smart enough to come up with a beautiful, sad love story, and then the owner changed her mind. Well, I guess it shows that the owner is kind-hearted, or we wouldn't have been able to buy it."
"Come up with? The love between Isabel and I is indeed beautiful, but it has nothing to do with sadness," Blake smiled.
He was filled with anticipation as he looked at the villa.
Vince commented, "You've got to admit that the designer is a genius. The layout and interior decoration style are unique. Some rich people favor luxurious design, but this villa is filled with the owner's unique ideas. The owner must be a person who doesn't like complexity or exaggeration."
"I agree. That's why I think Isabel will like it," Blake said.
"Give me a break. You're always talking about her. You've become addicted. She's really changed you a lot," Vince commented.
"This is called happiness, something you don't understand," Blake said slyly, proud of himself. "It's about time. I'm going to pick her up."
He drove to the Galvez family home.
Seeing Isabel, he smiled. "Isabel, I'm back."
Hannah came over. "Blake! I thought you weren't coming back now that you're with your family again."
"Mrs. Galvez, of course, I will come back. To me, this place is my second home, and you're like my family," Blake said.
Hannah smiled. "Stop it. We never expect you to repay us. Though you're the heir of a rich family, we don't want others to think we want something from you in return. That's not who we are."
Blake said, "I know. By the way, where is Mr. Galvez? I have something to tell you."
"He's upstairs watching TV. Let's go upstairs," Hannah said.
Isabel glanced at Blake. "What's the matter?" she asked, noticing his high-profile appearance.
"You'll know soon enough," he smiled.
"You're keeping us in suspense on purpose," she complained.
Upstairs, Blake announced his purpose. "Mr. Galvez, Mrs. Galvez, I bought a villa, and I'd like to invite you to move in."
