Chapter 104
Winton sensed something odd and immediately snapped angrily, โSebastian, are you there? Get out here, or Iโm dropping the medical robot projects!โ
Sebastian sighed helplessly and stood up. Abigail started to rise too, but he pressed her shoulder to keep her seated.
Stepping behind Abigailโs chair, Sebastian leaned down and said, โMr. Brown, what do you think of her? If Iโm busy in the future, is there any problem with you handing it off to her?โ
Winton glanced at the obedient Abigail and said, โShe has strong capabilities and bold ideas. Whatโs your plan?โ
โWhat plan?โ Sebastian tilted his head slightly, looking at Abigail beside him.
Sitting in the chair, Abigail felt the warmth emanating from Sebastian. Though there was still some distance between them, his heat seemed to continuously intertwine with her senses.
Sebastianโs tone was laced with teasing. โHow far did you and Mr. Brown get? Did you discuss our marriage plans?โ
Abigail quickly stood up and spun around to explain, only to find how close they were. He was so tall that she had to look up at him.
Sebastian wore a lazy smile, his eyes calm and composed as if he hadnโt taken Wintonโs words seriously at all.
Abigail gradually calmed down, adjusted her mindset, and replied lightly, โMr. Brown just misunderstood our relationship. Weโve covered all the necessary topics.โ
โWhat do you think?โ Sebastianโs gaze fell on the computer screen.
Winton studied them, then smiled meaningfully. โYes, weโve concluded the first phase. When you arrive in Blairwind, bring her along. I want to talk to her myself.โ
Abigail blinkedโshe thought sheโd been thorough enough.
โAlright.โ Sebastian hung up the video call and turned to look at Abigail, who was still standing there. โYouโve landed a huge project. You contributed to a data-sharing project of this scale without consulting me?โ
Abigail bit her lip, embarrassed. โI thought only we were capable of building this database, so I assumed youโd agree.โ
โWell, you and I will be traveling together frequently from now on,โ Sebastian said, straightening up with a meaningful gaze.
โWhy?โ Abigail asked frankly.
โWe need to visit major hospitals, convince them to persuade their affiliate hospitals, and achieve information sharing. This project rests on just the two of us,โ Sebastian said, walking out of the conference room.
Abigail worried sheโd messed up. She swallowed and followed him, saying apologetically, โI only thought we were the only ones who could complete this project.
โThe larger the database, the better the chips needed, and currently, Celestial Group has the best chips. Since youโre collaborating with them, I thoughtโฆโ Her voice trailed off.
James, overhearing, smiled. โIf heโs not angry, he must approve. This project is massive, thoughโso youโll negotiate with hospitals while he supports you.โ
โMr. Robinson, Iโll work hard,โ Abigail said firmly, lowering her head.
Sebastian glanced at her. She clearly loved this work, or she wouldnโt have agreed so quickly.
โTraveling with Mr. Robinson for negotiations will help you develop your skills, just like Timothy at Halden Group, who can handle projects independently,โ Warren explained gently.
Abigail didnโt resist Sebastianโs decision, but she was grateful for Warrenโs explanation. โThank you, Mr. Judson.โ
โCome on, you still call him that? Didnโt you say heโs like a brother to you?โ James approached Abigail, looking serious.
After some hesitation, Abigail murmured, โHe really is.โ
Warren matched her earliest fantasies of an older brother. Stephen and Christian had shattered her expectations, making her think siblings who didn't grow up together couldnโt bondโbut Warren proved her wrong.
James laughed. โYet you still call him Mr. Judson. Donโt be fooled by his constant smileโheโll be heartbroken.โ
Abigail glanced at Sebastian, and when he showed no objection, she looked back at Warren. โI know my humble background. Iโm grateful to you all, but donโt want to cling to your relationship without reason.โ
