Chapter 103
On the private plane to Blairwind, James and Warren were also on board. Abigail didnโt quite understand why they were there.
Sebastian emerged from the lounge and nodded at Abigail. โCome meet a client.โ Abigail nodded and hurried over.
The two entered the conference room in the middle of the plane. Sebastian turned on the computer and asked her to sit in the main seat while he sat on the other side.
โYouโll talk to Mr. Brown about the advantages of medical robots later,โ Sebastian said, leaning back in his chair, relaxed, and speaking in his usual casual tone.
Abigail said in a daze, โMe? I havenโt prepared anything.โ
โThen improvise,โ Sebastian said before closing his eyes. Abigail thought he must not have slept well last night.
When the video call connected, Abigail saw a white-haired, irascible old man on the other side and immediately sat up straight to greet him. โHello, Mr. Brown. Mr. Robinson asked me to discuss the medical robot with you.โ
โWhere is that brat?โ Winton Brown shouted at once, as the camera couldnโt capture Sebastian sleeping beside her.
Noticing the old manโs irritability, Abigail quickly explained, โHeโs temporarily busy. Winton, I can also talk to you about the robot.โ
Sebastian, leaning aside, smiled. Winton frowned and sized her up. โCan you understand what Iโm saying?โ
โFeel free to ask questions,โ Abigail replied calmly.
โIโve read the materials that kid sent me. Brilliant ideas, but if you want to prioritize cooperation with my hospital, you must first tell me the advantages,โ Winton said seriously, constantly sizing up Abigail with his cloudy eyes.
Abigail pursed her lips and said, โWe can help you with data sharing. The company will provide a huge database that links all networked hospitals. Past patient diagnosis results will enter this database, providing your hospital with more convenient access.โ
Winton laughed, โYou dare to think big, young lady. Do you know how huge a project it is to link data from all networked hospitals?โ
Abigail looked at him earnestly. โMedical development up to now hasnโt been a small project either. Precisely because life continues, this project wonโt be short-term.โ
Sebastian crossed his arms and squinted at her. Whenever Abigail talked about work, she focused so intently that she didnโt notice how others around her were sizing her up.
Just then, Sebastianโs phone vibrated. He picked it up and saw a message from James, then unconsciously turned his head. The two men sitting outside the conference roomโone grinning slyly, the other smiling with narrowed eyes.
He got up, walked out of the conference room, and tapped James on the head, whispering, โWhy are you smiling so sleazily? Whatโs she saying to Winton thatโs got you so intrigued?โ
โYour eyes are glued to her. Whatโs she talking about with Winton thatโs so fascinating?โ James asked, rubbing his head with a gossipy smile.
Warren smiled and said, โBut Abby knows he has so many girlfriends. She definitely wonโt be with him.โ
โShut up,โ Sebastian said in a low voice. โSheโs negotiating a big project for me.โ
James asked curiously, โWasnโt your cooperation with Mr. Brown already a sure thing?โ
Sebastian smiled but said nothing.
โWhat if Abby doesnโt want to be your girlfriend? What will you do?โ Warren repeated.
Sebastian said coolly, โHow do you know she wonโt?โ
โWho would want to be with a playboy?โ James chimed in at once, leaning close to Sebastian and whispering even more softly, โShe might not even believe your explanations, man. You have no chance.โ
โI didnโt say I like her,โ Sebastian said lightly, while James and Warren scoffed. Ignoring them, Sebastian got up and returned to the conference room.
Abigail was still talking to Winton about the prospects of robots.
โRobots definitely wonโt be as meticulous as humans; they canโt replace people. But if theyโre fully functional, they will solve the problem of elderly care for single people. They can call the police when elderly people living alone have an accident,โ Abigail told Winton.
Winton kept a straight face. โYou want to stay single? Sebastian letting a young woman like you participate in this project must mean he plans to marry you. What, you look down on him?โ
Abigail found it hard to catch up with Wintonโs leaping thoughts. She thought, โArenโt we talking about work? How did we get to whether Iโll marry Sebastian?โ
She looked at Sebastian awkwardly and found he hadnโt yet wiped the smile from his lips, leaving her momentarily stunned.
