Chapter 103

On the private plane to Blairwind, James and Warren were also on board. Abigail didnโ€™t quite understand why they were there.

Sebastian emerged from the lounge and nodded at Abigail. โ€œCome meet a client.โ€ Abigail nodded and hurried over.

The two entered the conference room in the middle of the plane. Sebastian turned on the computer and asked her to sit in the main seat while he sat on the other side.

โ€œYouโ€™ll talk to Mr. Brown about the advantages of medical robots later,โ€ Sebastian said, leaning back in his chair, relaxed, and speaking in his usual casual tone.

Abigail said in a daze, โ€œMe? I havenโ€™t prepared anything.โ€

โ€œThen improvise,โ€ Sebastian said before closing his eyes. Abigail thought he must not have slept well last night.

When the video call connected, Abigail saw a white-haired, irascible old man on the other side and immediately sat up straight to greet him. โ€œHello, Mr. Brown. Mr. Robinson asked me to discuss the medical robot with you.โ€

โ€œWhere is that brat?โ€ Winton Brown shouted at once, as the camera couldnโ€™t capture Sebastian sleeping beside her.

Noticing the old manโ€™s irritability, Abigail quickly explained, โ€œHeโ€™s temporarily busy. Winton, I can also talk to you about the robot.โ€

Sebastian, leaning aside, smiled. Winton frowned and sized her up. โ€œCan you understand what Iโ€™m saying?โ€

โ€œFeel free to ask questions,โ€ Abigail replied calmly.

โ€œIโ€™ve read the materials that kid sent me. Brilliant ideas, but if you want to prioritize cooperation with my hospital, you must first tell me the advantages,โ€ Winton said seriously, constantly sizing up Abigail with his cloudy eyes.

Abigail pursed her lips and said, โ€œWe can help you with data sharing. The company will provide a huge database that links all networked hospitals. Past patient diagnosis results will enter this database, providing your hospital with more convenient access.โ€

Winton laughed, โ€œYou dare to think big, young lady. Do you know how huge a project it is to link data from all networked hospitals?โ€

Abigail looked at him earnestly. โ€œMedical development up to now hasnโ€™t been a small project either. Precisely because life continues, this project wonโ€™t be short-term.โ€

Sebastian crossed his arms and squinted at her. Whenever Abigail talked about work, she focused so intently that she didnโ€™t notice how others around her were sizing her up.

Just then, Sebastianโ€™s phone vibrated. He picked it up and saw a message from James, then unconsciously turned his head. The two men sitting outside the conference roomโ€“one grinning slyly, the other smiling with narrowed eyes.

He got up, walked out of the conference room, and tapped James on the head, whispering, โ€œWhy are you smiling so sleazily? Whatโ€™s she saying to Winton thatโ€™s got you so intrigued?โ€

โ€œYour eyes are glued to her. Whatโ€™s she talking about with Winton thatโ€™s so fascinating?โ€ James asked, rubbing his head with a gossipy smile.

Warren smiled and said, โ€œBut Abby knows he has so many girlfriends. She definitely wonโ€™t be with him.โ€

โ€œShut up,โ€ Sebastian said in a low voice. โ€œSheโ€™s negotiating a big project for me.โ€

James asked curiously, โ€œWasnโ€™t your cooperation with Mr. Brown already a sure thing?โ€

Sebastian smiled but said nothing.

โ€œWhat if Abby doesnโ€™t want to be your girlfriend? What will you do?โ€ Warren repeated.

Sebastian said coolly, โ€œHow do you know she wonโ€™t?โ€

โ€œWho would want to be with a playboy?โ€ James chimed in at once, leaning close to Sebastian and whispering even more softly, โ€œShe might not even believe your explanations, man. You have no chance.โ€

โ€œI didnโ€™t say I like her,โ€ Sebastian said lightly, while James and Warren scoffed. Ignoring them, Sebastian got up and returned to the conference room.

Abigail was still talking to Winton about the prospects of robots.

โ€œRobots definitely wonโ€™t be as meticulous as humans; they canโ€™t replace people. But if theyโ€™re fully functional, they will solve the problem of elderly care for single people. They can call the police when elderly people living alone have an accident,โ€ Abigail told Winton.

Winton kept a straight face. โ€œYou want to stay single? Sebastian letting a young woman like you participate in this project must mean he plans to marry you. What, you look down on him?โ€

Abigail found it hard to catch up with Wintonโ€™s leaping thoughts. She thought, โ€˜Arenโ€™t we talking about work? How did we get to whether Iโ€™ll marry Sebastian?โ€™

She looked at Sebastian awkwardly and found he hadnโ€™t yet wiped the smile from his lips, leaving her momentarily stunned.
