Chapter 163

Now that Daniella had everyoneโ€™s eyes on her, she felt like she was standing trial, except for the sympathy in Christianโ€™s gaze. The others looked at her like judges ready to pass a death sentence.

The pressure was suffocating. That overwhelming sense of being hated, resented, and unloved completely shattered her. Only then did she realize what real heartbreak and collapse felt like.

Daniellaโ€™s throat tightened as she scanned each of their faces. The moment she saw a flicker of hesitation on Biancaโ€™s face, she broke down and crawled toward her, sobbing, โ€œMomโ€ฆ I didnโ€™t know the company was in trouble.

โ€œI really didnโ€™t. Itโ€™s always been like this before, so I never thought too much about itโ€ฆ If Iโ€™d known, I never wouldโ€™ve spent so recklessly.โ€

Bianca was just about to speak when Gabriel cut in sharply, โ€œWhat I donโ€™t understand is, how the hell do you spend six million dollars a month?

โ€œChris, Stevie, and Abigail each received two million dollars. Chris and Stevie were transferring you one million dollars every month.

โ€œAbigail didnโ€™t have much allowance, but it was still a couple million dollars total. So, what did you even spend it on, huh?โ€

Gabriel looked around and barked, โ€œNobody speaks up toโ€ฆโ€

Bianca didnโ€™t dare say another word. She just let out a quiet sigh.

They had poured so much time and effort into raising Daniella. Whether it was her hobbies or every inch of her appearance, it was all carefully curated.

Just the cost of beauty treatments and fine dining alone added up to over three million a year, not to mention all the purses, clothes, and shoes.

However, after Daniella got exposed for faking photos and slandering Abigail, the news spread across the industry, and all the money spent on her training was wasted.

Of course, Bianca had never expected Daniella to repay the Gibson family for any of it. All she had ever hoped was that her daughter would one day be able to stand on her own.

At that moment, the only sound in the living room was Daniellaโ€™s quiet sobbing.

It was starting to get on Abigailโ€™s nerves, so she said irritably, โ€œIโ€™m going upstairs.โ€

She really couldnโ€™t stand Daniella, and her crying only made her more restless. Besides, she genuinely hated the whole atmosphere in Gibson Villa.

Abigail pondered, โ€˜I donโ€™t know what Daniella used to be like, but she has been living in Gibson Villa since she was really little. And look at the other two sons, whatโ€™s so great about them?

โ€˜When they hate someone, all they know is how to scream and condemn. That used to be me. Now itโ€™s Daniella. But people like them? They never think they're the problem.โ€˜

โ€œGet some rest,โ€ Wyatt said.

He knew all too well that Abigail had been bullied like this before. She didnโ€™t feel sorry for Daniella, but seeing it unfold still brought up old memories, making her physically uncomfortable. Still, only he could truly sense what Abigail was thinking.

After Abigail went upstairs, Wyatt glanced over at Gabriel. โ€œI talked to Warren today about a potential deal. He said heโ€™s willing to invest, but only if we replace the entire management team from the head office all the way down to the branches.โ€

โ€œHow much is he putting in?โ€ Gabriel didnโ€™t care about the management team. All that mattered to him was the money.

Wyatt replied, โ€œ100 million dollars. We will use it to help pay off part of our debt. As for the rest, weโ€™ll talk again once the company turns a profit. We donโ€™t have any more options, Gabriel.

โ€œWeโ€™ve got a 15 million dollar cash gap by the end of this month. Even if we sold off all the luxury items in the house to plug that hole, it would only buy us time.

โ€œThe next one will break us. What we need is for the company to start making money.โ€

Gabriel said, โ€œThis money might keep Gibson Group afloat for another six months, sure. But the leadership changes? Thatโ€™s your call now. You already stripped me of my position anyway.โ€ He was clearly dissatisfied, but deep down, he knew he wasnโ€™t as capable as Wyatt.

Wyatt spoke firmly. โ€œChris canโ€™t stay on as the CEO of the subsidiary anymore, and we need to redistribute the shares. Warren is putting 100 million dollars in, so of course, heโ€™s going to want a stake.โ€

Hearing that, Gabriel glanced over at Christian, disappointment written all over his face.

Gabriel muttered, โ€œHeโ€™s never going to make it at this rateโ€ฆ But what about Abby?โ€ At this point, he was seriously considering shifting his focus to Abigail. After all, there was no questioning her abilities.

He thought, โ€˜Sebastian backing her teamโ€™s project at Halden Groupโ€ฆ That speaks volumes about their capabilities. And James taking her to Silverdale to work on the smart vehicle system? He wouldnโ€™t have done that if he didnโ€™t see something in her.โ€™

Wyatt said, โ€œWeโ€™re reallocating the shares. You all know Abbyโ€™s situation by now. Warren only gave us this opportunity because of her, so I want to give her a bigger share.โ€ That was his first move.

Of course, there was no guarantee Abigail would even accept the shares. But that was something to worry about later.

Wyatt mused, โ€˜I need to get Abby as much leverage as possible and make her the most influential voice in the Gibson familyโ€ฆ Only then will I feel at peace handing over the family business.โ€˜
