Chapter 164
As soon as Wyatt said that, Christian snapped, โAll that talk was just leading up to this, wasnโt it, Grandpa?โ
Gabriel and Stephen both knew exactly what he meant. Wyatt was no fool. Out of all the potential partners, he had chosen Warren, the one with ties to Abigail. That wasnโt a coincidence.
While speaking, Christian helped Daniella up from the floor.
Wyatt said, โSo what? Thereโs no need to worry about Abby. Sheโs got a good future lined up, and Sebastian is there to support her."
โYou all havenโt been good to her, so donโt test me. I can work with Sebastian and take her out of this family. If our company goes bankrupt, every single one of you will end up with 30 million dollars in debt. The choice is yours.โ
Wyatt hadnโt meant to come on so strong, but the truth was, he had no patience left. The younger generation of the Gibson family might be useless at work, but when it came to scheming? They acted like they had majored in it.
At the mention of Sebastian, Christian couldnโt help recalling how the man had treated Abigail tonight.
Christian used to think Ralph was the best match the family could hope for. He never expected Abigail to win Sebastian over with just one project at Halden Group.
Christian honestly started to wonder if Ralph had any sense at all. Back when Abigail was interested in him, he couldnโt have cared less.
Gabrielโs tone cooled as he said, โDad, just tell us straight, how much are you giving her?โ
Whatever excitement they had felt earlier about Warren investing in the Gibson familyโs enterprise was quickly washed away by what Wyatt said next.
โIโm reallocating the shares,โ Wyatt said flatly. โDaniella gets nothing.โ
Daniella had always known this day would come, but when it finally arrived, she still couldnโt bring herself to accept it. Ever since she was fired from Halden Group and Stephenโs personality changed after prison, she had been living in torment.
And now, the first blow had landed, cutting straight through her lifeline. But she didnโt even dare speak up in protest. Once the apple of everyoneโs eye, now reduced to nothing, all in the blink of an eye.
Christian couldnโt hold back. โGrandpa, even if you want Daniella to step aside for Abby, do you really have to be this cruel?โ
Wyatt frowned, โCruel? You think Iโm the cruel one? You all let your own blood take the fall for a foster girl who lies through her teeth. If it werenโt for her, would Abby have ended up like that?โ Even mentioning it fired him up.
He thought, โI was out on a business trip at the time, and not one of them bothered to tell me that they had put Abby behind bars.
โI canโt even blame anyone but myself for falling apart when I found out. I ended up sick for three whole years. They even lied, saying they had gone to visit her and that she was doing just fine.
โBack then, I actually believed she had run someone over. Turns out, it was all a setup from the very beginning.โ
Gabrielโs expression darkened, and he asked, โSo how many shares are you giving Abby?โ His tone carried a note of accusation.
Wyatt replied, โAside from the shares that belong to the other shareholders, thereโs 55% left. Abby gets 20%. 10% of mine are going straight to her.โ
Warren was investing 100 million dollars and would take 5% from the remaining 45%.
But Warren had already told Wyatt privately that he planned to buy up shares from the other shareholders โ enough to bring him up to 31%. That way, Abigail and Warren could control the company together in future collaborations.
Wyatt added, โSome of Abbyโs shares are coming from Daniella. Thatโs what Daniella owes her.โ With that, he waited for the others to speak up.
Gabriel looked skeptical as he asked, โIf Warren is putting up the cash, what is his cut of the shares?โ
Wyatt said, โI already said, even if he helps us get out of that last 130 million dollars mess, heโs only getting 5%. So you can all relax.โ
โSure, heโs close with Abby and Sebastian, but Iโm not about to hand over too much power to an outsider,โ he added, looking shrewd.
Christian was still worried. โWhat if Warren buys up shares from the other shareholders?โ
Wyatt replied, โThen he would only have 45% at most.โ
Stephen chimed in, โThat still leaves controlling interest with our family.โ
Hearing that, Wyatt shot him an approving glance. Even a weak teammate could come through when it counted.
Catching that look of approval from his grandfather, Stephen couldnโt help but lift his chin a little.
Christian went on. โWhat if he buys Abigailโs shares too?โ
Wyattโs face darkened. โIโm still here. Do you really think she would do something like that?โ
Stephen agreed, โExactly. This whole business is Grandpaโs blood, sweat, and tears. Abby stuck it out even when we gave her such a hard time after she came back, just because she cared about Grandpa.
โShe only moved out after he got seriously ill and we pissed him off, and even then, she took Grandpa with her when she left. As long as he is around, she would never betray him like that.โ
Stephen had absolute faith in Wyatt, believing that as the former CEO of Gibson Group, he would always want the company to thrive for the sake of future generations.
